Saddam to Hang for war crimes
Fallen Heretic replied to Masked_Maverick's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yeah, they didnt waste any time. Personaly, I dont agree with death as a punishment. Its not justice in my opinion. I would rather have seem him made to live to suffer for his crimes. Execution seems more like revenge than justice. Two wrongs dont make a right. Life is life and thats sacred, no matter what evils have been done. Just my opinion. -
Alternative eaters-Vegitarians, Vegans, Carnivores...
Fallen Heretic replied to Xme3's topic in Random, Random, Random
I eat meat. I like meat. I also eat dairy and pasta and things. I dont eat sea food. I also dont eat much raw veg. In fact I eat very little veg, but enough to keep going. I absolutely love curry. -
It only seems like a few weeks since I saw him performing live in Glasgow. Even though he was not long out of surgery, he still had so much energy on stage. Many people can say many things about the mans personal life, but there is no denying he was one hell of a performer. There arent many left these days. A sad loss for entertainment.

What Did You Get For Christmas?!
Fallen Heretic replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I got, a little 15" LCD tv, A digibox to go with it, A tabletop pinball table. Fun, but not themed well. Still, Ive gone through one set of batteries already. The usual underwear from relatives, A diary and pen. yay. A scarf, A jumper, A clothes brush with shoe horn and dust remover. Now this is handy because so many of the girls I know wear glitter. -
I hated Geography and French. I suck at lanuages and the geography teacher used to drink whiskey from a bottle in his drawer and be drunk in class. Didnt bother teaching us at all. I though Latin was a dumb subject when my older Sister was studying it. But now she can get the general gist of anything she reads in most european languages. Appareltly alot of them are derived from Latin.

CARS! The Car Super Thread
Fallen Heretic replied to Jordan Shankman's topic in Random, Random, Random
lol. Yeah, and they always drive with their fog lights on. Whats that all about? It bugs me something awful. Just because they see Jeremy Clarkston sliding round the track they think its easy to do it on the public roads. Its not just the young ones either. Some of the older, experienced drivers can be just as bad. -
CARS! The Car Super Thread
Fallen Heretic replied to Jordan Shankman's topic in Random, Random, Random
umm...Ford Fiesta Zetec, unmodified. lol. Still, its not bad. Cars cost more money here, more than I make. I would like to have a modified Vauhall Monaro, but of course they are out of production now. Or one of the little lotus cars. Beyond my means though. -
Top 10 Video Games of All Time
Fallen Heretic replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Random, Random, Random
I started gaming at 3 and still do to a lesser extent today, so this is a bit of a mix. Some of these are probably not very good, but Im listing them as they either changed the way I thought about games, or have some of my fondest gaming memories attached to them. So, in no particular order (because direct comparison wouldnt be fair) Pitfall II (2600) R-Type (arcade) Street Fighter 2 (arcade) Creatures (C64) I thought his was awesome, but its forgotten by many. Microprose Grand Prix (amiga) The Secret of Monkey Island (Amiga) Grand Theft Auto (PSX) ICO (PS2) FF VII (PSX) Metal Gear Solid (PSX) OK, this will make it 11, but I think I should mention it.. TOCA Touring Cars (PSX)...Just because it has some of the best, most exciting pack racing. Nothing has come closer to the feeling of racing for real than this, in my opinion. Though the Race Driver follow ups are also pretty good for this, the first two TOCA games got it spot on. -
Strathy can be awesome. But to get the best socially, you have to get off your butt and really go for things. There are (or were when I was there) tons of student run clubs. From the chess club, the the laser game club, to the extreme sports club. But no coaster club. maybe thats an opening for you? The Uni even help fund some of them if you can pitch it as having some educational value. Plus the union building is cool, I used to practically live in Gamezone on the third level. (not sure its still called that though). Anyway, my stuff... Primary school: Glengowan. Tiny little village school. Secondary school: Caldervale High. One of the worst performing schools in the area. but I still managed to get enough there to go to.... Strathclyde University. After 4 years, I left withan BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering ( 2:2 Honours). And after all that, I somehow still end up working at a dull desk job for the tax people.

Im 5' 10". Well, maybe a smidge under that.

Wumpscut - Wreath of Barbs.

You Jammie Git! lol. I was going to see that but couldnt due to other pressing issues. Last gig I went to was W.A.S.P. The next is Iron Maiden this friday.

Im exactly the opposite. I am known round my way for being super-camp. Think Graham Norton without the suits. So straight guys meeting me for the first time kinda assume Im gay, but I am 100% straight. Ive even had a fair number of guys making a move on me. Still, its flattering in a way, but just not the attention I want. And many of the girls I liked wanted to confide in me rather than date me. oh well, c'est la vie.

What is your favorite type of donkey?
Fallen Heretic replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Random, Random, Random
There was one at Blackpool called Pepsi. (well, one of many that wore that name). This particular one used to snuggle its head into me when I stood near it. Alas I dont know which type it is. And have no fear. the Blackpool donkeys have employment rights. They are treated well, and even get on hour off for lunch. The only bad thing is when they put hideously fat, half drunk 40 year olds on them. Happily the donkeys are smart enough to bolt just enough to drop them. lol. -
Its overated but I still think its a fun ride. The effects are cool when they work, but in all the years Ive been riding it not once have I seen the water vortex working. Oh, the lightning used to be a tesla coil (hence the faraday cage) but it was removed, and replaced by a strobe. I presume for health and saftey reasons. Why they didnt take the cage out as well, I dont know. Its a shame, the coil looked good but was maybe a little small. I still think its a fun ride. In my opinion, a dark ride doesnt have to have a story to be fun. It depends on the context I suppose. Not all rides are trying to tell a story. If they are and fail, then I can understand disappointment. Personaly I think valhalla isnt anything like a cohesive story, but it doesnt really matter to me that its not. Each to their own I guess. What DOES really bug me is that the last year or so there has been a habit of leavng a door open at the top of the first drop. Totally floods the area with light. I hate that.

LOL. OK, this is going to be one of the most anal posts Ive ever made, but here goes... Really, its branded Irn_bru, which used to be Iron Brew, but really, its sponsored by A. G. Barr, who make Irn-Bru. OK, so do i get punched now? lol. They have been looking for someone to buy Spin Doctor for a while, i reckon. I also heard rumor that they were having problems with the sea salt blowing in and attacking it. I rode it once. Seemed better than other boosters as its so close to the bridge which gave it great visual. It did take an age to load up though. I wont be sorry to see it go.

I like the whole mechanical aspect of it as well. I spent a huge chnk of time a while ago studying wheel set-ups and car linking methods. I just find the whole thing fascinating. More than that, I just love to climb in, strap up, relax and ride them. I dont get those kind of Gs anywhere else. I was a passanger in a stunt plane once, where we did a few manouvers and got about 9G, which was the most awesome thing ever. That was a once in a lifetime oppertunity for me though, so coasters supply my G fix.

Over here, Barrs are knows for their rather weird but chucklesome Irn Bru adverts. I reckon they are only beaten by the famous Tango ad. Anyway, here is their latest Christmas advert.

Irn-Bru. Slurp.

I think this is looking pretty good for PBB. At least they are trying to do something with the thing other than just plonk it in the space and let that be that. Sounds very interesting. Although I fear the cascading water may just be some little fountains kicking up the standard brown pleasure beach water. I doubt they will dye it blue this time. Unless, they plan on having a nemesis styled river of blood thing. Only brown, not red. So it will be a river of...actually, lets hope they dont. Did I read that article right, that they are replacing Eclipse? Damn, thats a shame, I love that show. Im not sad about loosing Mystique though. DeVere is a slightly lower than average box-pusher in my opinion. I hope the new show is kick-butt awesome. Yeah...so...watery SLC is good for Pleasure beach. Ive heard that it was one of the slightly smoother running SLCs out there.

Launch day is near! PS3/Wii-kend Launches.
Fallen Heretic replied to Homer's topic in Random, Random, Random
I have a ps2 but Im going to skip the ps3 because its just too much money. I reckon Sony have shot themselves in the foot with it. Besides, history shows no-one has lasted more than two console generations at the top. Unless Im mistaken, which does happen from time to time. Im not getting a 360, cos to be honest Im getting bored with playing the same games as before only with better visuals. Seems creativity is taking a back seat to the guaranteed sell these days. It was always gonna happen but it seems to be stifling the original ideas more. Or are the ideas just running out? Thats why I will probably get a Wii (if I buy from this generation at all). It may not be a powerhouse, but its offering a new(ish) way to interact with games. Its refreshing and thats just what I need these days. Besides, Ive still to complete over half of my ps2 games -
You wouldnt be the first to suggest it. I agree about the old Water Chute site. Something prettier has to go in there. And clean up the Nash area while they are at it. They should keep somewhere to store BigOne track though. They recycle it brilliantly. They even used it as supports for the Valhalla building. My bro-in-law just asked whats going on with the bit where log flume used to be. Thanks to this I could give him a complete update

How to fill the void...
Fallen Heretic replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just drive fast over the little hilly road around my way. That works. Kills the shockers though. We have hills just outside our village that used to get traversed on various tea-trays and other home made sleds. There was a 8ft vertical drop in the middle of one of the slopes. At the bottom, there was a barbed wire fence before the gradient levelled off. We had to throw ourselves of the sleds to stop before hitting it. Then hope a bus didnt come along and crush the sled as it skittered through the fence onto the road.
