Slightly off topic, but... I laughed so hard when I saw them getting hammered. lol. Last time when they won the ashes you would think they had beaten the world. The commentators were excitedly shouting about how England were champions of the world. Yeah, right, they beat one team, for the first time in a whole bunch of years. Its very sweet to see all the dejected St. George crossed faces on TV. Oh, I like them really, but when all you hear on BRITISH TV is how great and proud we should all be of ENGLADs achievments, you cant help but revel in their defeat a little. They seem to forget sometimes that this is 3 countries and a province, not just one. Course it would help if Scotland were not beaten at every sporting event we attempt.

As far as Im concerned, Im 100% Scottish. In reality, go back about 4 or 5 generations and there is some Irish in there too.

The Pleasure Beach marketing people have a habit of bending the truth. One of the more famous efforts is the strange habit they have for measuring the heights of their rides from sea level, rather than base level. I guess they think bigger is better. What is it they say about men in flash sports cars?

The American Government, Foreign policy, military and Intelligence services are generaly seen as rather sinister here and not to be trusted. They are seen as bullies, who put aside their own preaching of human rights as and when it suits them. Many countries regard the U.S itself as a tyrant, throwing its weight around to get what it wants, and damn everyone else. If anyone tries to stand up to the bullying, they are generally threatened. At least thats general view over here. Bear in mind these thoughts are directed towards the government and associated military bodies, not the American people themselves. -
I was Baptised age 6 (by my own choice) and was raised a Christian from birth pretty much (protestant if it makes a difference). However, I am no longer a Christian. I have many reasons for this, which Im not going to go into here. I guess the best way to describe my current beliefs is 'undecided but open minded'. You could say Im leaning towards being agnostic.

We have a big problem these days with this sort of thing in the UK. In Scotland in particular. I blame the dumbing down of the education system for problems here. There are 18 year olds leaving Secondary or College, getting into University Degree courses when they have sub-standard reading and writing skills. Ive seen people reading their text books, running their finger slowly under the words, sounding them off slowly as they read. And this was a guy going to a teaching college! Ive seen some current exam papers and they are very much easier than those I sat for the same subject at the same age in the same school. In order to increase general pass marks, the educational authorities are just making exams easier rather than improving teaching standards. So now kids are going to Uni without some of the basic skills that their pass marks imply they should have. Also, listening to some of the kids speak here is quite shocking. Yes I know each culture and generation has its own 'lingo'. I use alot of Scottish slang myself when talking to my friends. But we can all still hold a conversation in proper English. I heard a 19 year old saying "Yeah, I isnt fick, yeah? I jus dont git dis, innit?". And that is a college graduate at a placement interview. I understand that alot of kids are fine, and some better than average. I guess it depends on the area and school your talking about as well, but its a situation which I think is getting worse in the UK. -
Idiot Ride Ops.

Personaly I quite like the chase as well, or at least following the guests, like scraping something on a floor or wall, thats scary. I guess its against health and saftey rules or something. Alot of jumpwalks or haunted houses dont like punters to run, as they could trip and fall. Some places to their best to keep the groups moving though, sometimes pretty damn quick. Ive never been so frightened by a midget with a shovel before. lol. The only proper idiot thing Ive seen was when i was a kid at Southport Pleasureland. My parents went off for a trip on the skyride leaving me with my sister. While they were up on it, the two ride ops, obviously bored, decided to mess around a bit. They jumped on one of the cars in the station, and started swinging in side to side. They swung so much that the gondola was actualy bashing into the pole supporting the wire. This ofcourse shook the wire and made all the cars on the ride sorta bounce and swing. To say my parents were paniking was a slight understatememnt. Depsite being only 9 years old, I swore loudly at them. Alot. And so did alot of people. Official complaints were made but I dont know if anything happened to them. -
My first words were "Happy New Year", shorly followed by "Thats a really nice dress..." No, I didnt get much further. Oh well.

My new yar was great. I spent it at a burlesque club. Lots of fun. Though the club clock broke so we ended up celebrating new year 5 minutes early. lol.

Have you ever had someone ask you...

I cant say Ive ever had a problem with people cutting in front of me. Then again I am often in the single rider line (if there is one). As a bonus sitting next to strangers can spark up conversations that result in new friends. I do let people cut in front of me if they obviously want to ride together and I somehow end up in the middle splitting them. I will often ask quite a few people to step in front of me on Steeple Chase at PBP when friends and I are trying to "race" each other and get on horses wich leave together. I would never try to get in front of someone else to acheive the same. We always work it so that the person who gets to the head of the line first will let others through until the rest of us catch up. I wont let someone cut in if they are clearly just wanting to shorten their wait time. lol. Nor will I let someone cut in if they have one person 'keeping their place' in the line while they go off to play a game or something. Sorry but thats just not on. If you wanna ride, you wait like the rest of us. -

Im just a little surprised the way some people seem to be joyfully revelling in this. I can maybe understand that people are glad he has been executed even if I dont agree with it myself. But I do not understand why anyone would want to watch it. I think its sick. It makes them no better than Saddams henchmen, watching as their victims were killed. -
I dunno about America, but where I come from, assburgers = poo. We also call it bum-nuggets. Your intelligence has nothing to do with therianthropy and everything to do with Asperger's Disorder. As well as the negative symptoms, it also has the effect of focusing the mind more firmly on some tasks, making them easier. Of course, its that very disorder that stops you from realising that and seeing anyone elses point of view. Its also why you are obsessed with the therianthropy thing, and cant see that its little more than ancient myths used as god figures and to frighten children. Of course it makes no difference me saying this because another symptom is the "Im right, your wrong, no matter what anyone says" thing. Anyway, cant we get this back on track to the serious topic at hand, Coasters on the moon?

I love rotors. Last year my mate won a little spiderman soft toy, and he of course took it on rotor and filmed it stuck to the wall while singing the spiderman theme. Hes a bit of a twit really. lol. Shame about the spinning mouse, i was looking forward to that. I remember in years past they also used to set up a large ferris wheel outside. Thats gone in recent years too. Well, I wil probably go and try to get some photos. Even if there isnt much to photograph. lol. -

Yes, something to do with sealing or something. You can get caulking guns. Its a game design term too. A way of stopping a game from drawing surfaces that wont be seen by the player. How do I know this stuff? I dont remember ever learning that? -
Tomorrow is Hogmanay! And I get to bring in the bells at a Burlesque party. Woo-Hoo!

Remember that bit in Braveheart? With the kilts? Ive done that. Both front and back.

Im debating to myself whether or not to go to the Carvnival this year. Has anyone been to this yet? Is it still the usual flat-ride fest and is it worth going to this year? That said, I will probably go anyway.

Saddam to Hang for war crimes

Saddams death will not solve anything. It probably wont even change much. His power and his followers were pretty much gone as soon as the "great leader" was seen being pulled out of a hole in the ground. What is dangerous is the ideas. Saddams execution will not kill the idea. In Iraq Saddam is old news, there are too many other factions trying to get control themselves now, who dont really give a flying whatnot about him. In fact they are probably glad hes gone cos it gives them a chance for power. Its very hard to kill an idea. An idea is why the Twin Towers came down. An idea is why the London bombings happened. An idea is why Saddam gassed the kurds, and an idea is why so many people think its right to thrust democracy on countries which are simply too volatile to accept it. Saddam is not the problem, neither is the people or even the religeons. Its the ideas that they carry, and nothing will improve until those ideas start to change.
