Trip Report: SFMM on 12/26/06
Xtreme-me replied to Xtreme-me's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you guys were there right at opening how come it took 30 minutes to wait for the front??? Just wondering because we did the exact same thing on Saturday and we walked right onto the front row! Were you just not at the front of the crowd getting in? We managed to do something like 8 coasters in about 2 1/2 hours including Deja Vu! Also, why didn't you guys make use of the single riders line on Deja? --Robb we were at the very back of the crowd getting in actually but it wasnt really that bad. There was also a HUGE wait for the front compared to the other lines, however, i insisted that we ride in the front because its basically the best ride you can get out of tatsu. Oh, one other thing too... Tatsu has changed completely from the last time i went on it over the summer. When i went on it before, they had two train operation and they dispatched the trains about every six minutes it was terrible because they would just leave you out in the open sunlight when it was 100+ degrees and people would start to get a bad attitude towards the ride. The train we were on sat out there for seven minutes exactly after we had finished the ride! Yesterday however, we waited a matter of seconds to get back into the station (both times they were only using one station) Deja Vu is one of my favorite coasters, however, the only reason that i didnt use the single rider line was because no one else in my group wanted to go. One other thing, im technically to tall to be on Deja Vu. I barely Fit in the restraints and they have to push really hard on them to get me out! so yeah, i did know about the single rider line because i have used it before -

Well... We got to the park a little later than i planned (around 10 and they were fortunately still doing their little show and stuff. they opened the park at 9:59 and i found that kinda funny. As soon as we got into the park, we decided that it would be best to go to Tatsu first. (we used the walkway by revolution instead of going all the way around and managed to beat the huge crowd that was heading up there) it wasnt too bad of a wait. About 30 minutes because we decided to wait for the front. I have to say that i absolutely love that ride and that it will never ever get old to me. After that we walked over to Deja Vu but the line was about 30 to 45 minutes so we opted out of it and went over to Riddler's. Same old same old ride. The station was really empty and their was only about a two train wait for every car except the front. After i nabbed a ride on freefall, we headed over to batman. When we got up to the station, we found them loading a train and then all of a sudden, they told everyone to get off. We found out that someone had thrown up on the ride. They cycled the train around once in order to clean it off and then they sent it empty untill it got dry. It was an ok ride. It seemed to be shorter than before but i dont know. After that we went on scream once. It was fun, fairly long and had some good elements (Zero-g twist is AWESOME) When we got of, we decided that it would be a better idea to walk down to wendys instead of eat in the park. After an hour and a half trip down and back, we were ready to ride coasters again. To my dismay, the rest of the day didnt go as i had hoped. We started by going up the mountain on the orient express and ran over to superman. We walked in only to find that there was a rather large line but decided to wait anyways. it took about 30 minutes total. After that, i decided that we should check out tatsu again to see if the line was shorter than before. It wasnt but that was ok. Then, i went to check viper and saw that that had a rather long wait (30 mins.) as well. We walked over to the log ride to see if we could get on that but the ride had broken down and remained that way untill we left. Instead of going on another major thrill ride, we went into the kids section of the park and rode canyon blaster and a couple other small rides. After that, we walked over and went on goliath with about a ten minute wait and then left. It wasnt too bad of a day. Not extremely crowded, but not empty either. Thanks for reading!!! sorry, there wont be any pic's because i forgot the camera.

ive run into plenty of idiot operators on rides 1. Goliath(SFMM)- was listening to his ipod and wasnt paying attention, didnt realize what was going on untill people started yelling at him. 2. Ninja (SFMM)- Left for lunch without telling anyone and so there was two people doing everything. They were waiting in the station for him to send the train but he had left. 3. X- Started to fold the chairs back while people were getting in! also, they completely pinned me to the chair with the restraints and i couldnt breathe at all. I was gasping for air the entire time and i couldnt enjoy it. 4. Silver Bullet- ANNOYING WIRELESS mic's 5. Wizzer (SFGav)- Sent four completely empty trains around for no reason at all. They hadnt added a train, No one had gotten hurt, it was pointless. 6. Tatsu- Too Busy talking to his girlfriend to care

Creepy!!! im planning to go the same day and i doubt it will be extremely packed but it will possibly be fairly busy its never extremely busy in southern california parks the day after christmas.

im going to MM with some friends tomorrow (12/20/06) and one of my friends has recently broken her ankle. We have a wheelchair and stuff and i get to push her around all day. I also got her to get a note from her doctor just in case they didnt believe her. A couple questions... 1. How does the whole thing work? is it like knott's system or disneyland's system where you walk through the exit and they put you on? 2. is there a limit to how many times you can go on a ride? 3. Do you have to wait to go on the rides? Any correct info would be of great value! thanks!!!

My list is a little different than the rest of you, but almost the same 1. X (the HOLY CRUD factor is insane. Its the only coaster thats gotten me to say every single cuss word throughout the course of the ride over 15 times. Comfortable restraints) 2. Tatsu(awesome. Speedy lift. Plenty of air. Breathtakeing views of the park. Very fun. Comfortable restraints) 3.Deja Vu (im a sucker for boomerangs because my first looping coaster was one. The ASTOUNDING you get in the back row-16) 4. Riddlers (really fun, really long, and IF you wait for it, its worth the wait) 5. Scream (Fun, a little rough but bareable, fairly long, good cource, Comfortable restraints, etc.) 6. Collossus (My first roller coaster was Ghostrider when it had opened about 6 months before i rode it and i was "bred" on wooden roller coasters, the next one i rode was American Eagle at AFGAm. IM a sucker for old wooden roller coasters) 7. Superman (fun launched coaster. Not the fastested but still exciting. Like the restraints better than other launched coasters) 8.Goliath (fun only if you sit in the front row. one big drop then lots of boredom, then a huge helix thats really fun, then more boredom untill the end. The exciting part of the ride is the drop and then its just meh...) Others i like in No particular order: Revolution Viper Ninja Canyon blaster (luve it..)

not sure if you heard the news yet, but MM isnt going to be sold to developers which is an awesome thing. I was hoping for this to happen. However, are the rest of you happy with the decision too? Since its staying, also post what you think are necessary changes that need to be made to turn this park around!

i screamed my lungs out on ToT because i knew i wouldn't get the opp. to do it on Maliboomer nah. I loved ToT not too scary, and some of the airtime it gives is astounding. I know this is off topic, but the ride would be even cooler if it could get something like the one at DisneySea has where the lighting affect hits the elevator shaft and it drops.

dude, the left side had a sign on it when i went 2 1/2 years ago that it was down for its "yearly" refurbishment. The other side has the sign now. I doubt it will ever be in operation again. Just hope for it. As for me, i have both Credits *cha-CHING*
-
too late for that i think. The chance of them opening both sides if their going to sell it are very slim. Plus, the right side went down over the summer and before that, the left side was closed for 2 (3) years?

i really doubt we will ever see the departure of X, not for a while at least. As for revolution, it wont dissapear. Its not extremely popular but it makes for a fun ride (see who can get a concussion first?). It would be nice, however, if they could remove the shoulder restraints. They really suck and they arent needed at all. Deja Vu i doubt will be gotten rid of anytime soon. Same with viper because it holds a record. (largest looping coaster ever created). Superman? i could live without it. Its fun, and to some small degree exciting, but it does drain up alot of energy and has extremely low capacity. Its no surprise that people are happy to see it be sold. Now we'll start arguing on what people think might be put in its place or what they would like to see there

Breaking News! Free-FELL
Xtreme-me replied to GatorChris's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well, rumors say that its going to be sold, but why did they fix it up and Reopen it? i went on it during Fright fest. I have to say, its fun and the air from the open floor is cool. However, if your tall (above 6 ft.) it can really hurt your shoulder blades. I wouldnt rate it really high in my list of drop rides, but then again, i really like supreme scream -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Xtreme-me replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
from the pic on the Cedar point website, it looks like the trains are going to have a lot of leg room which is nice. I hate the Xcelerator trains because they have hardly any leg room. Also, i dont mind OSTR's unless they hurt. Ive only been on one intamin ride w/ them (perilous plunge) and lets say i was less than thrilled... they hurt like crap... -
Back ON TOPIC... MCR's New CD is amazing. I loved their second CD, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and when i heard welcome to the black parade, i was excited. The change was huge between the two albums. I like every single song on the new one. My two favorites are Disenchanted and Cancer. As for panic at the disco... Well... I actually hate them. Whats with all the long song names? "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" oh snaps thats a long name...

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Xtreme-me replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ninja @ SFMM was the last one i rode. It isnt amazing but i still like it alot. http://www.rcdb.com/ig129.htm?picture=2 -
what coaster did you severely underestimate
Xtreme-me replied to methos's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know this is going to sound wierd but i didnt expect that much out of tatsu. I was happy it was open and stuff, But it blew me away. I guess part of the reason is the height of the ride, at the top of the lift, its 262' thats taller than Goliath!!! Also the pretzel and the Egg Turn Blew my mind -

Xtreme-me replied to Xtreme-me's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
