  1. so...they get tourists and MM gets the frikin bigillion people that live in LA? thats a perfect marketing plan! attract the Asians who already have three disney parks and theirs are way better than ours.
  2. Im 15, How would/could I afford to give it more of a chance? I would rather spend 60 dollars and be able to go to a decent park as often as possible than spend 120+ dollars for a pass that is barely useable because of blackout dates. Plus, its easier to go with other people or your friends when they can afford to go to.
  3. I regret to inform you of the fact that the park is not at all what people describe it as and is NOT a "premium experience" of any sort. Its different when you advertise your park as the happiest place on earth, and then you have trash overflowing in trashcans, workers who cuss at you, and really annoying visitors. At least Six Flags can live up to their reputation (which is unfortunately not too great). Disneyland has always been less than worth it and will continue to remain that way, especially if they continue to raise the prices. Also, I did not have one negative experience. Out of the four times I have been to the park, I have had major issues with most of the rides and the operators. If you would like me to list them, I would, however, it would be a very very very long list. Lastly, I do understand that I spell some things wrong, but please do not point out things like that in a negatory and demeaning manor. I have not been good at english my entire life so bear with me.
  4. Well... after reading through screamscape, I came up upon something rather disturbing and discusting. "Disney has raised a few prices at the California parks this week. Parking is now $11, a 1-Day Park Hopper is now $83 for Adults and $73 for Children." http://www.screamscape.com/html/disney_s_california_adventure.htm This is extremely depressing to me. They are charging so much its discusting. Now, although not too bad, its annoying that they would charge that much and then you have to pay their rediculous prices for food and souvenirs. Now, if this was a two day pass, it would be different but im discusted. When i went over the summer to the park, I paid about 95 dollars for the entire day. Now, I wouldnt mind other than the fact that my season pass to Six Flags is 60 bucks and there are no blackout days at all. I would take trash and junk over a 95 dollar drop every time you want to go to one park. Am I wrong to think that this is extremely outrageous? Just because you have a reputation does not mean you can charge rediculous prices and still run your park like crap. I've had much nicer days at Six Flags than at Disneyland. Also, I've seen just as much crappy ride operation at Disneyland as at Six Flags. We were stuck on Splash mountain once for an hour because the ride op did something stupid and wouldnt tell anyone what he/she did. And once we were off, no apologies, no re-ride passes, just a "tough luck for you". I think it boils down to just being sick of people bashing MM when they pass up other parks that have tons of problems.
  5. Crystal Wings Has to be the best. Either that or Black Mamba. The worst is scream! unfortunately. I love the ride but the scenery is extremely lacking DUDE!!!
  6. Im going on the 3rd of Febuary witch is the date they say on the website that it will open. What are the actual chances that this will happen and they will have two trains to run?
  7. you really didnt like LaQua (Is that right)? Ive heard alot of good things about it.
  8. Dude... your trip report rocks. A quick question or two for you... 1. Do you have any pics of the Dragon from Fantasmic? 2. is there any noticeable differences that came about from the Really long rehab of the Matterhorn? Otherwise, your trip report was cool. I remember when i went a couple of months ago and saw fantasmic for the first time it was amazing. I love the way they project the movies on to the water. It rocks. Is it just me or does it seem as though every time theyre showing the fireworks their always having "wind" problems?
  9. thanks for pointing that out but i already knew. If everyone is so anal about spelling on this website... why dont they get a spell Check then huh?
  10. I know that everyone is fed up with these kinda threads but... im going (hopefully) with one of my friends to SFMM on the 27th of January but i have two questions: 1. will X be open by then? 2. IM going to get a playpass and i was wondering if the cupon book had something for free parking in it. any help would be great!!!
  11. ive only had one person ever ask me to move up and i said thats fine. However... This was on one of those days when schools go for graduation ditch day thingys and stuff so when more people tried, we wouldnt let them. As for me, if im in a large group and we all want to go on the same train, we let people pass us. Its just common courtesy to wait longer if you want to be together. I really doubt waiting and extra train is going to kill someone.
  12. Goliath at SFMM was neutered from the day it opened i think. If they took they didnt use the brakes halfway through the ride, you know how crazy it would be?
  13. If you guys were there right at opening how come it took 30 minutes to wait for the front??? Just wondering because we did the exact same thing on Saturday and we walked right onto the front row! Were you just not at the front of the crowd getting in? We managed to do something like 8 coasters in about 2 1/2 hours including Deja Vu! Also, why didn't you guys make use of the single riders line on Deja? --Robb we were at the very back of the crowd getting in actually but it wasnt really that bad. There was also a HUGE wait for the front compared to the other lines, however, i insisted that we ride in the front because its basically the best ride you can get out of tatsu. Oh, one other thing too... Tatsu has changed completely from the last time i went on it over the summer. When i went on it before, they had two train operation and they dispatched the trains about every six minutes it was terrible because they would just leave you out in the open sunlight when it was 100+ degrees and people would start to get a bad attitude towards the ride. The train we were on sat out there for seven minutes exactly after we had finished the ride! Yesterday however, we waited a matter of seconds to get back into the station (both times they were only using one station) Deja Vu is one of my favorite coasters, however, the only reason that i didnt use the single rider line was because no one else in my group wanted to go. One other thing, im technically to tall to be on Deja Vu. I barely Fit in the restraints and they have to push really hard on them to get me out! so yeah, i did know about the single rider line because i have used it before

  15. Well... We got to the park a little later than i planned (around 10 and they were fortunately still doing their little show and stuff. they opened the park at 9:59 and i found that kinda funny. As soon as we got into the park, we decided that it would be best to go to Tatsu first. (we used the walkway by revolution instead of going all the way around and managed to beat the huge crowd that was heading up there) it wasnt too bad of a wait. About 30 minutes because we decided to wait for the front. I have to say that i absolutely love that ride and that it will never ever get old to me. After that we walked over to Deja Vu but the line was about 30 to 45 minutes so we opted out of it and went over to Riddler's. Same old same old ride. The station was really empty and their was only about a two train wait for every car except the front. After i nabbed a ride on freefall, we headed over to batman. When we got up to the station, we found them loading a train and then all of a sudden, they told everyone to get off. We found out that someone had thrown up on the ride. They cycled the train around once in order to clean it off and then they sent it empty untill it got dry. It was an ok ride. It seemed to be shorter than before but i dont know. After that we went on scream once. It was fun, fairly long and had some good elements (Zero-g twist is AWESOME) When we got of, we decided that it would be a better idea to walk down to wendys instead of eat in the park. After an hour and a half trip down and back, we were ready to ride coasters again. To my dismay, the rest of the day didnt go as i had hoped. We started by going up the mountain on the orient express and ran over to superman. We walked in only to find that there was a rather large line but decided to wait anyways. it took about 30 minutes total. After that, i decided that we should check out tatsu again to see if the line was shorter than before. It wasnt but that was ok. Then, i went to check viper and saw that that had a rather long wait (30 mins.) as well. We walked over to the log ride to see if we could get on that but the ride had broken down and remained that way untill we left. Instead of going on another major thrill ride, we went into the kids section of the park and rode canyon blaster and a couple other small rides. After that, we walked over and went on goliath with about a ten minute wait and then left. It wasnt too bad of a day. Not extremely crowded, but not empty either. Thanks for reading!!! sorry, there wont be any pic's because i forgot the camera.
  16. ive run into plenty of idiot operators on rides 1. Goliath(SFMM)- was listening to his ipod and wasnt paying attention, didnt realize what was going on untill people started yelling at him. 2. Ninja (SFMM)- Left for lunch without telling anyone and so there was two people doing everything. They were waiting in the station for him to send the train but he had left. 3. X- Started to fold the chairs back while people were getting in! also, they completely pinned me to the chair with the restraints and i couldnt breathe at all. I was gasping for air the entire time and i couldnt enjoy it. 4. Silver Bullet- ANNOYING WIRELESS mic's 5. Wizzer (SFGav)- Sent four completely empty trains around for no reason at all. They hadnt added a train, No one had gotten hurt, it was pointless. 6. Tatsu- Too Busy talking to his girlfriend to care
  17. Creepy!!! im planning to go the same day and i doubt it will be extremely packed but it will possibly be fairly busy its never extremely busy in southern california parks the day after christmas.
  18. when i went to the park yesterday, the ride was running as fast as possible and had hardly any wait all day because they were moving the cars in and out as fast as possible, i rode about 4 times.
  19. one more thing, can you ask to ride in the front? thats my favorite place to ride on some rides( Tatsu & Goliath mainly)
  20. im going to MM with some friends tomorrow (12/20/06) and one of my friends has recently broken her ankle. We have a wheelchair and stuff and i get to push her around all day. I also got her to get a note from her doctor just in case they didnt believe her. A couple questions... 1. How does the whole thing work? is it like knott's system or disneyland's system where you walk through the exit and they put you on? 2. is there a limit to how many times you can go on a ride? 3. Do you have to wait to go on the rides? Any correct info would be of great value! thanks!!!
  21. dude!!! if its the EXACT same ride, they have something going for them. As i remember, that ride had a huge load of airtime on some of the drops and hills. The coaster is a good start for them, and hopefully they will add more!
  22. My list is a little different than the rest of you, but almost the same 1. X (the HOLY CRUD factor is insane. Its the only coaster thats gotten me to say every single cuss word throughout the course of the ride over 15 times. Comfortable restraints) 2. Tatsu(awesome. Speedy lift. Plenty of air. Breathtakeing views of the park. Very fun. Comfortable restraints) 3.Deja Vu (im a sucker for boomerangs because my first looping coaster was one. The ASTOUNDING you get in the back row-16) 4. Riddlers (really fun, really long, and IF you wait for it, its worth the wait) 5. Scream (Fun, a little rough but bareable, fairly long, good cource, Comfortable restraints, etc.) 6. Collossus (My first roller coaster was Ghostrider when it had opened about 6 months before i rode it and i was "bred" on wooden roller coasters, the next one i rode was American Eagle at AFGAm. IM a sucker for old wooden roller coasters) 7. Superman (fun launched coaster. Not the fastested but still exciting. Like the restraints better than other launched coasters) 8.Goliath (fun only if you sit in the front row. one big drop then lots of boredom, then a huge helix thats really fun, then more boredom untill the end. The exciting part of the ride is the drop and then its just meh...) Others i like in No particular order: Revolution Viper Ninja Canyon blaster (luve it..)
  23. not sure if you heard the news yet, but MM isnt going to be sold to developers which is an awesome thing. I was hoping for this to happen. However, are the rest of you happy with the decision too? Since its staying, also post what you think are necessary changes that need to be made to turn this park around!
