  1. Beautiful! Those new footers should go in pretty fast, just like the last one that took about a week, and is pretty much done. Once this step is done, all we need is the reduction brake area and then we're done with trackwork!
  2. Awwwwwwww Yeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! But seriously, that looks pretty sweet. I'm really interested as to how this ride will turn out. Theming-wise, great, I'm sure.
  3. A boom is the arm of a crane. By boom, he meant crane.
  4. Cool pictures! Do I spy some airtime? I hope so! Can't wait to see more progress.
  5. 1. Jack Rabbit (Seabreeze) - 1920 2. Giant Dipper (SCBB) - 1924 3. Giant Dipper (Belmont) - 1925 4. Wildcat (Lake Compounce) - 1927 5. Thunderbolt (SFNE) - 1941 6. Matterhorn (DLR) - 1959 6. Blue Streak (Cedar Point) - 1964 7. Bobsleds (Seabreeze) - 1968 8. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - 1969 9. Gold Rusher (SFMM) - 1971 10. Racer/Woodstock's Express (King's Island) - 1972
  6. There's no need for hostility. Robb's view about "wimpyness" was just merely an unbiased observation about the way theme parks are operated in the US, and you took it way too personally. I don't understand how people get so angry and confrontational on this board. The arguing is getting old, so lets drop this, and carry on with being roller coaster nerds!
  7. ^Not when they "fart" but hey, the more fart the better! *I really hope people know about the "prefab fart"
  8. I guess you have your own opinion on X2 and Tatsu, but there's no "Shockwave" at SFMM (unless you're talking about that defunct stand up from 25 years ago), Canyon Blaster is a miler kiddie coaster, and Deja Vu is gone.
  9. Crews are moving very fast now. In just this last week, we've seen the whole twisty section, the whole second airtime hill, and most of the first airtime hill come up. And this is just the visible track progress. They are almost done with the footer for the high speed turn near the lift that the crane was sitting on, so soon that whole turn will be completed. I love progress and I'm very anxious to see the trains come in soon! EDIT: And there's also more track sitting in the bottom of that picture so it looks like they still aren't done for today!
  10. It goes uphill on it own momentum. It's more of a credit than the Mack Super Splashes.
  11. For anyone who's interested, this local news report has a video of Skyrush construction and it shows many cool views of the ride. Also, a worker talks about how Hershey and Intamin redesigned the restraints many times, but came to the final design of just a lapbar for the most freedom while riding! This is good news to anyone who is against the dreaded Intamin OTSR's.
  12. May- SWSD for Manta opening (also my birthday!) August - New Hotness: Knoebels SFGAdv Hershey King's Dominion BGW Carowinds SFOG Dollywood Lake Winnie Hopefully: SFMM for Lex Luthor SFDK for Superman: Ultimate Flight DCA for Carsland USH for Terminator Possibly my biggest theme park year EVER!
  13. Garrett, I really like some of your pictures. What type of camera are you using?
  14. ^Edited and fixed. My bad, haha.
  15. On the project 2012 Facebook page, there's some pictures from today. They've put a ton of track in now that they've slightly moved the crane out. Looking good, airtime hills!
  16. ^Internet... can't tell if joking... or just stupid. So because all the stuff at the top of the lift has been raised up and possibly assembled, does this mean that they can get the crane out of there and build the rest of this layout?
  17. Anyone else think it would be funny if SFMM did the same thing CP did with Maverick where they got rid of the logflume, but kept the station and incorporated it into the new ride? There is so much space around that whole area, they could really liven up that area with a new attraction.
  18. I don't know if anybody saw this, but this video shows cool photos from vantage points I haven't seen yet.
  19. From this new height, we can see how much taller the drop is than the rest of the layout. I predict that the trains will be flying over those airtime hills very quickly.
  20. This picture is amazing. I had no idea Zambezi Zinger lives on in Columbia. The terrain integration looks incredible. It's cool to see new parks I haven't seen before.
  21. 17/20, I don't know how old their wooden coasters are. hahaha I also didn't know Moonsualt Scramble was over 200' tall.
  22. Once they put other things on the lift, (catwalks/track/other stuff), they can finally finish up that layout and get this thing testing. One step at a time, but I'm happy to see progress.
  23. Why wouldn't this be a coaster with an uphill section of track with its own momentum? I always wondered that.
  24. ^It's definitely you, cause that's for sure 5 degrees off vertical. I think it looks exactly the same angle as i305 (which is also 85*). I'm really looking forward to the rest of this lift coming together. With a 17.73 mph (26 ft/s) lift speed, this will be flying over that hill and will definitely have some airtime.
  25. I have a question about the trains: What has been announced for restraints? I assumed it was going to be a lapbar from above based on the first two renderings, but a picture released in the file for the contest shows OTSRs.I really hope they stick with the lapbars, but I guess we'll see when the trains get here in person. Also, what are the contest videos supposed to be made with and what footage/animation do contestants use? I know it's art, but I thought it seemed accurate. This looks to be clam-shell restraints as well. This looks like typical Intamin OTSRs :/
