  1. Well maybe I was exaggerating a little bit, all I know is that you are not pressed into them at all. Based on S:EFK and knowing the acceleration of Speed and Flight of Fear (I assume they're similar to Mr. Freeze), I'd say that the restraints they have are substantial enough to handle launching backwards. ^I am not sure about the facts of Mr. Freeze, but I tried to base a hypothesis off of something mildly similar.
  2. Even during the backwards launch of S:EFK at SFMM, you don't even touch the Intamin restraints, I'm sure you would be fin with just the lapbars.
  3. Even with an extra 5 meters (40 meters from top of lift to bottom of first drop) and without friction, it could reach a hypothetical maximum of 100.85 km/hr...
  4. I watched Memento a few weeks ago, and I really liked it. I'm excited for your trip report!
  5. Sooo close. I'm really excited to see it finished up
  6. This video was recently released by Disney! It's amazing!
  7. Looks really fun. Apocalypse's first drop is great and I'm sure this one is too!
  8. I wasn't hoping for a name like "Full Throttle" to fit in the wilderness area. It stands out and I'd rather have something more themed, but hey, I still always wanted a LSM launched so I guess we'll see what happens.
  9. Seems like a fun trip, but if you do the May option, you will at SWSD literally the DAY before Manta opens, FYI.
  10. Not really, the Giant Dipper is REALLY painful in the wheel seats. I classify the wheel seats on the Giant Dipper giving the roughest ride on a wooden coaster in NorCal. I'm going to disagree with you there. I've had no painful ride on the coaster in any seat.
  11. Radiohead, San Diego 08/08 Muse, San Diego 09/10 Streetlight Manifesto, Pamona 12/11 Others: Pixies White Stripes Raconteurs Foo Fighters Queens of the Stone Age Police @ Dodger's Stadium Green Day Incubus Death Cab For Cutie Beck and sorta a concert but Flight of the Conchords!
  12. I've been taking pictures recently. Here are a few I edited to make my rotating background for my laptop. Check out more on the link in my signature. X2 Bizarro Giant Dipper, San Diego Giant Dipper, Santa Cruz Bishop's Peak, San Luis Obispo Knott's Upstate New York El Toro
  13. Definitely Snata Cruz Giant Dipper! Thing is sweet.
  14. Awesome! Can't wait to see a testing video. What are all the colors for the trains? So far I know Orange, Red, and Green.
  15. WOOOOOOH! Beautiful lapbars. This is wonderful. It really does remind me of both the B&M hyper trains and the Mack launched trains like Manta.
  16. I don't see this rumor coming true. I bet that someone heard SFGAdv will get a drop tower, and assumed it would be put on KK because that's what's happening with LL at SFMM. It would be cool if they got a giant drop tower though...
  17. ^^ What he said. Flight Deck at CGA has the same little break in intensity with the turn over the station, just in a different fashion.
  18. Looks great. I LOVE those overview shots. I didn't realize how little they have until trackwork is complete! Now, we watch the next 3 months as theming and other goodies arrive with this coaster.
  19. ^ Your source is your dad that sells stuff to the park or something? How confident are you that it will be Premier?
  20. Where did you hear it would be Premier? Are you "ER" from planetsix?
  21. If I had to chose between the current rumors that are going on of a LSM (multiple) launch coaster, I would prefer: 1. Intamin 2. Premier 3. Mack 4. Zierer All companies capable of multiple LSM launches. But just think, if there was a ride that had the same quick-transitioned style of Maverick, with some other cool elements traversing the hillside, oh man... I'd definitely prefer Maverick/iSpeed to Chettah Hunt though.
  22. I kinda really hate that map. It's too messy, therefore losing it's basic function of a map.
  23. SLCs are just a bad design. I'm very curious to see what the Koch's can bring to this place. They are on good terms with TGG, so I see them fixing up Twisted Twins, and getting those operational again. I don't know what to expect in terms of new rides or fixing up old ones. What coasters are still on property? I know they lost Chang and the Wild Mouse. Do they still have Greezed Lightnin'?
