  1. Truer words have never been spoken. I know Vekoma has made some interesting stuff in the past 5 years, but I'm very surprised how people in this thread have been voting. I trust Intamin to deliver a top-10 coaster miles more than Vekoma - On top of that, the Intamin design simply is far superior and looks a lot more interesting. I know people want to see what Vekoma is capable of, but at what cost? You could be actively voting against one of the best coasters in the world.
  2. I believe that the person who said he spotted them has now admitted to making this whole thing up unfortunately, he, or someone who saw what he said, may also have submitted the rumor to Screamscape. hahaha, I didn't see that...
  3. Well the drawing looks a lot more tailored for a wooden coaster vs a steel one, but yeah we don't really know anything yet... Oh except for the confirmed sighting of both Grubb and Schilke at Kennywood a couple of weeks ago... But yeah, nothing else.
  4. The Vekoma looks great for a Vekoma, but that Intamin coaster could change the world. Please send in support/vote for the Intamin, that thing looks like the best coaster in existence...
  5. Plans for 2018 coaster revealed at City Council Meeting
  6. Unreal... So do we call this the world's second "flying snake dive"? Mack is constantly pushing their envelope, I'm seriously impressed! I'm seriously considering a 2018 Mack Europe Trip! Blackpool -> Liseberg -> Walibi Holland -> Movie Park -> Europa -> Nigloland! (I'll add in some Intamins on the way too! )
  7. That Phantom's Revenge POV is phenomenal. TPR, as always, produces the best coaster footage in the game! I really need to ride that coaster
  8. I count one good coaster there, buddy boy. That's pretty edgy
  9. You probably should leave the comedy to the professionals. Sure, dude, I thought after 10 years of posting here I knew the crowd... Sorry for upsetting you that much.
  10. Park World tweeted this picture today. "New for 2018 Mack Rides double launch coaster will feature 15 interactions with other Blackpool Pleasure Beach coasters. Here's one of 'em..." Pleasure Beach tweeted "We have a HUGE announcement to make, all will be revealed tomorrow including a video! "
  11. I think people might attribute a lack of new coasters next year to "OMG the amusement industry is collapsing!" or something. I think the chances are that a lot of parks investment cycles coincidentally lined up a little bit (2016 was HUGE for many parks). But people are forgetting how many other things are getting built that aren't coasters, for example both WDW and Disneyland have MASSIVE projects underway. If you look at the future schedule at my amusement company, you will see that parks/venues have not stopped buying rides! In fact, this is one of the busiest years we've ever had!
  12. Hahaha, it's Intamin... Mack doesn't even have a motobike style coaster line (like Intamin, Zamperla, or Vekoma). If you're saying Mack because SeaWorld has recently worked with Mack (all the JTA's, Cobra's Curse, Manta), I'll point out that they've also worked with Intamin (Cheetah Hunt, Falcon's Fury). They've also worked with B&M, Premier, GCI, Zierer, and Moser in the past 5 years as well...
  13. I am not necessarily happy that Kanonen is leaving for this ride, but it kinda makes sense.Helix essentially rendered Kanonen as redundant - Helix is a longer, faster, bigger version of Kanonen in a way. I'm sure they ride differently, but I think 95% of people would prefer Helix if they had to pick. I think Valkyria better suits the coaster lineup they have (Sweden's first B&M!) and it looks really fun! I do hope for a possibility that Kanonen finds a new home somewhere else, but if not you can essentially get the same experience at Romon World in China! Side note - I do hope Valkyria has the standard B&M restraints and not the vests like Valravn.
  14. Not sure which thread to post this in, but a user on reddit (r/rollercoasters) found this coaster track traveling on the 91 West in South LA area. It's definitely Premier track... Any ideas where it could be going?

  16. Crossing my fingers for Intamin! Can't wait for a layout!
  17. That looks like a drafting sheet. I'm suspicious, though that image obviously isn't the entire sheet. Based on where that title block is on the sheet, if you extended the layout to the left where the big sweeping curve is, it would technically go off the paper. Also, why would you have an elevation that's rotated 90 degrees compared to the orientation of the text? Exactly, either the title block is on the left side of the sheet or the views are just extra weird. Also, the angle of the layout isn't full profile, it's slightly off. The more I look at it, the less convinced I am. CONFIRMED HOAX Sorry for putting people through this roller coaster (heh) of emotion.
  18. I think it's best to be doubtful of it anyway. I won't fully believe it until I see a stamp on the drawings. But it does look moderately professional for a basic ride render. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a hoax.
  19. So... It's Monday, what happened?
  20. This should've stopped you in your tracks, that isn't remotely close to something you should consider a legitimate source. I purposefully posted where I got it so you can draw your own conclusions - Even if you don't think it's legitimate I thought others should get the chance to judge it themselves. I assume "lame coaster Facebook page" is a word filter? Nope, the group is called Coaster Park Klub - And the original poster said "Found this on a private Instagram DM." He since deleted the post, but not before I saved it. I called it lame because the discussion there is pretty childish and derivative of other places to discuss news.

  22. I found this "leaked" picture on a lame coaster Facebook page. Sent to somebody on Instagram. Looks like it says "Hurler Renovation" in the title block of the drawing. EDIT: The drawing seems legit to me (RMC/Ride Centerline have been known to show basic renderings in No Limits), which means KD has at least placed a bid for a hurler renovation. I wish it didn't have a inverting first drop, but it would be amazing with any RMC layout!
  23. Also Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet has said that they want to always keep GhostRider as original as possible due to it being one of the last rides Walter Knott helped design. Boy am I glad they did. I think it's perfect the way it is right now. I never got a chance to ride it when it was originally great, so I always imagined how great it used to be, but I had no idea until I got on it this month. Also, isn't Jeff Gahagan fascinating to listen to? He is very tight lipped during group Q&A's, but if you get him one on one or in a small group he is just a wealth of fascinating stories and details. No thank you. See above paragraph. You really should try Ghost Rider. I don't know how many parks would be willing to invest the time and money like KBF did to really overhaul the whole ride like that but GCI sure proved they can do it and do it right. But how long is it going to last? They didn't take care of the original ride. Some GCI's have gotten super rough. And I have heard Boulder Dash is pretty bad now. And I am more confident in RMC throwing in crazy, intense elements where GCI is more gentle. Just a personal preference. Well the 100% retrack and new trains should help the smoothness last a while at least... Too bad GhostRider is noticeably less forceful/fast/intense than with the PTC's it was designed for.
  24. ^ HOLY CRAP, that's awesome! Valkyria is an AMAZING name! I wonder how large the coaster will be?
  25. That's a great looking inversion - Looks like it'll have airtime! Looking forward to the flying-snake-dive-looking thing being erected next!
