The most rare coaster credits
chickenbowl replied to Stitch's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dare Devil at the Boomer's in Upland, CA and the Zierer kiddie coaster at Darien Lake. I rode both of these coasters in 2001 when I was 7. The Boomers coaster was removed shortly after that. Next are some random traveling credits I rode at the SD County Fair. I also have ridden the newish kiddie spinning coaster at Silverwood, which I think is rare. -

Holy insanity... This looks like RMCs answer to Boulder Dash! That terrain action is unbelievable. I NEED to get to Sweden -

Hmm... - Lightning Rod - Wildfire - Taron I'd say it's "one of the" biggest coasters of the year, not sure I'd call it *THE* biggest coaster of the years. I'm pretty psyched about all three of these equally, tbh. I agree! I suppose I meant it's most anticipated by the primarily American userbase of TPR. My point was to encourage the people who can update everyone else who isn't there. -

Umm, it's the biggest coaster of the year, dude. People are posting information about a ride that's on the brink of opening that a LOT of people are super interested in! Real updates are better than arguing over why enthusiasts think the opening is delayed. What would you rather discuss on a coaster forum than real updates on the coaster? Your posts bring absolutely nothing to the conversation - Why don't you leave the moderating to the moderators? -

Hell yeah! I'm wishing the LR team success, two trains is very promising! Hopefully their confidence will soon raise to full opening soon! I also love the reviews, if anybody else has anything to say about the ride experience, your posts are very appreciated! -

I love a good Von Roll! I got SeaWorld and the SD Zoo to hold me over here in SoCal! -

This picture is unreal. The way it exits the roll in the upper left and banks leftward over the drop. I cannot wait to see the drop come to shape! This coaster is magical! -

Does anyone know if Lightning Rod has still been running for the past few days? How have the technical rehearsals been going? -
With full trains I still felt plenty of 0g hangtime in all three inversions. But earlier in the morning Chad and I got a ride where we were the only 2 people in the train and we really felt insane hangtime!!! Joker is just all around solid in every area. Too bad we missed Alan later in the day! Where does Joker rank among the other RMCs for you?

I'm guessing that Cedar Fair includes Knotts Market Place and the Hotel into their attendance figures for the Knotts property. There is no way that the Theme Park and Water Park combined drew 5.5 million people. Where does TEA Connect and the IAPAA get their figures? They use a combination of publicly available information and their sources. So in other words not very accurate. Got it. I'll trust CF's own numbers. Hahaha. Yeah, alright. And that K must ALWAYS stay on top of the sky tower... Believe what you want, guy.

Just a quick comment on this, since it's come up a couple times - the brakes at the top of the launch hill do not come up or engage with the train during normal operation. They are only there if the control system determines the train needs to stop before cresting the first hill. If you watch closely you can see them popping into place after the train passes. Since the magnetic launch doesn't go all the way to the top, you'll definitely feel the train slow down before the airtime madness begins. But it's due to gravity, not braking! Jeff Irvine Ondrey Engineering Thanks for clearing up misconceptions on the internet! -

Okay let's do it. In my opinion Dollywood is one of the best parks in America, the Season Pass pays for itself in less than 2 visits and then you can go back for the #1 Theme Park Christmas event in America (and it deserves that title). Mystery Mine, Tennessee Tornado, Thunderhead and Wild Eagle are awesome. The shows are awesome, the supporting rides are awesome, the atmosphere is awesome, the food is awesome, they have cinnamon bread which is holy sh*t amazing and nobody is going to take one negative review of Lightning Rod as gospel when most reviews are absolutely glowing. Plus even if Lightning Rod were the worst coaster ever built the park would still be exceptional. How's that? I feel like I paid 70 bucks to go to a park that put more emphasis on food and shows. I know everyone is different but I was hoping for more rides. And the collection of coasters include 3 family coasters, a short arrow looper and the tamest b@m I can remember being on. It was nice theming and scenery and what have you but after 4 hours at the park I really struggled to come up with more to do that didn't involve eating overpriced food or watching shows. The only coasters worth a re-ride in my opinion were the two wopdies. Which isn't worth 35 bucks a piece. I know people are have opinions, but everything you've posted on here has been so negative. Your review of LR is very strange (you think it needs an inversion? really?). Not everyone needs to agree that Dollywood is the best theme park, but being negative for the sake of negativity is just annoying. I've been to 75 theme parks and I find Dollywood to be in my top 5 favorite! -
TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS
chickenbowl replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm really surprised to see so many people rank Ice Dragon over Fire Dragon... I felt a HUGE difference between the two, Fire being far superior. Fire's second immelman is my favorite inversion of all time! Just a beter flow of elements in my opinion. Also, Ice's first drop/turn kinda sucks, as does the ending section after the loop. 1. Fire Dragon 2. Montu 3. Alpengeist 4. Raptor 5. Afterburn ... 6. Ice Dragon 7. Flight Deck 8. My favorite Batman (I've ridden 7, they're all about the same) 9. Silver Bullet 10. Great Bear -

Thank you so much for linking this. There you have it... NO! Lightning Rod was NOT travelling 90mph, the launch was not "too strong". As an engineer, I thought that rumor sounded fishy, and people here have been repeating it like it's fact... you guys will trust anything posted with a "source". Most stuff on Screamscape is untrue to say the least. -

It's funny... Looking at technical length, Outlaw Run is VERY short... But it packs SO much into every foot of track that it never lets up, and doesn't feel incomplete. Goliath at SFGAm, although longer feels a lot shorter to me. It has fewer individual elements (just a couple large ones), but feels incomplete to me. Lightning Rod is longer than both these coasters, but still not "long" (under 4000'), but I think it will be a lot more comparable to Outlaw Run. There's so many terrain-hugging elements and not a lot of places where the train gets a chance to breathe. I don't think length will be an issue for most people! -

Thank you (and ernierocker) for the reviews! You two have pretty consistent reviews! Basically lots of airtime and great pacing (except for the wave turn). If this coaster is better than Outlaw Run, it will automatically be my favorite wooden coaster to date! -

Well Valravn opened on time too. And the Joker's and Cobra's Curse are all opening this weekend. That really only leaves Mako and Monster to open after Memorial Day weekend. -

Pretty decent! I like it more than any Gerstlauer Eurofighter I've ridden. I rank it in my top 30, right around Cheetah Hunt, Wildfire at SDC, and Kraken. There's some surprise airtime in the layout, and I'm sure the new restraints will make it even more enjoyable!
