There is a shin bar. Well, it’s more like a “pad” than a bar, just like every other Premier 2nd-gen train. Look closely. Just confirming again that there will definitely be a shin guard here. Side rant ahead: IMO, Premier's trains have always been the worst features of all their coasters. Every single type of train they've offered is awful for some reason or another. They tend to go with a deep "bucket seat" design that when paired with the shin-guards ultimately gives your legs zero movement. I am tall and often get leg or hip cramps in Premier trains - I simply cannot sit comfortably or relaxed. They've got to rethink their trains and more specifically the seat-restraint interface. RMC has the same exact restraining system (floor-pivoting lap bar and shin guard), but it's somehow implemented so much better. It will be funny for guests riding Electric Eel consecutively with Manta, which might have the most comfortable trains on the planet (and ironically are capable of performing the same maneuvers as Premier coasters).

The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!
chickenbowl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Save isn't working for me on Macbook Chrome. But dragging is! Also, it would be nice while dragging if the screen autoscrolled whiled holding the dragged item near the top of the screen (It already does this on the bottom of the screen). Right now there's a lot of drag, drop, scroll, repeat which can be tedious. -
The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!

I love the idea! Hope this can be fully fleshed out I've noticed a few problems within the ranking page mechanics: - You cannot drag at all in Chrome. - You can drag in FireFox, but cannot save your ranking after. - You can drag in Internet Explorer, but cannot save your ranking after. (I don't have any other browsers to test on) Some notable (in my personal rankings) that are excluded in your database. You may want to consider adding: - All of Six Flags Over Georgia (Or at least Goliath and Mind Bender) - Santa Cruz Giant Dipper (I love that coaster) - Monster at Adventureland (Arguably best Gerstlauer in the US?). -

I couldn't find if this was confirmed either way, but is it known what type of restraints Valkyria will have? Standard or vest (Like Valravn)? -
Can confirm, I was a ride op for Sub Quest all last summer and no one should be interested in that thing, even three year olds would find themselves bored. I've never encountered a "dark ride" that had so many issues either, I can't tell you how many times we had to evac riders off that thing. Definitely not the type of attraction you would expect from a park like SeaWorld. Submarine Quest was definitely a miss on the parks part. I have a feeling they will end up removing it in the future. It has soooo many technical issues. I wouldn't be surprised, that thing is a disaster

Cedar Fair and Intamin

The meme that won't die -
This is all true. Two other possible reasons: Crane access and staging area locations might be different and might require certain areas to be erected before or after others. Also consider that the RMC install crew may be trying different installation techniques in order to optimize Raptor construction for future projects. We are constantly trying to optimize on-site install time at my waterslide company.

Ten Best Coasters You Rode in 2017
chickenbowl replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interesting topic! It's been a relatively quiet year for me, so this might look strange. The only major parks I visited were Disneyland, SWSD, SWO, Dollywood, SFOG, Lagoon, Castles 'n Coasters, Valleyfair, World's of Fun, and Adventureland. 1. Lightning Rod, NEW - Not only best of the year, but best of my life. 2. Prowler, NEW - Surprisingly amazing, I was not ready for how fun this was. 3. Mako, NEW - Definitely one of the better B&M Hypers, very fun! 4. Renegade, NEW - Also great, just like Prowler. Second half is powerful. 5. Goliath (SFOG) - Only a couple rainy slowish rides this spring. Still a top 25 ride, especially once warmed up. 6. Tennessee Tornado - Such an amazingly solid looper. I simply love this one! 7. Monster, NEW - The best Gerstlauer I've ridden. Some great parts, but the elements are pretty laggy and strange. 8. Mamba, NEW - A lot less lame than I anticipated! The first few hills have some stellar floater, plus I love the length! 9. Cannibal, NEW - It's ok. The drop is incredible, the following inversions are fun, but the second half is pretty weak/meh. 10. Manta (SWSD) - A wonderful family coaster, I'm so glad to have this less than a mile from where I live. -
My favorite on-ride picture - Diving Coaster at Happy Valley Shanghai. I'm sure everybody can tell where I am. Almost every single person here looks terrified for their life.

Coaster Credit
chickenbowl replied to baileybrucem's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did Elissa also stop counting? I remember talking to her about counting a little bit on the trip in 2012. Yes. 2012 was the year we did that big China trip and we had all those horrible credit whores on that trip that kept insisting that we add crappy little parks to ride garbage credits, which we succumbed to (and yet more reasons why we don't do public tours anymore, but that's a whole other thread...) We probably rode at least 25 garbage kiddie coasters on that trip, maybe more, just so that people could pad their count. We got back from that trip and when we sat down to add them to a list, first of all, we couldn't even remember half of them because they all sucked, and we realized at that point how dumb it was that people would go out of their way to ride total crap just prove to the world that they had a higher coaster count. Unless you're talking to another sad and pathetic coaster nerd who also meticulously counts coasters like Rain Man, just saying "I went to China to ride roller coasters" is usually enough to impress the masses if that's the kind of thing you are into. I feel you, just being in China is stressful enough. I couldn't imagine figuring out all the logistics to go out of the way to multiple lame, boring China credits. I'm sure I would resent this hobby if I were in your position there. I'm down for the Mega-Lites, but why waste your time with monotonous stuff you'll surely forget? -
What is the Best Eurofighter?
chickenbowl replied to RCBoilermaker14's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Honestly, none of the 5 Eurofighters I’ve ridden were great. They all fall into a fun, but ehh category. Some are rough, some are just slow or have bad pacing, but none stand out to me. Maybe the European ones are better? Id rank them as follows: 1. Monster (great drop, but every element feels like it was designed to almost stall the train. You barely make it through like 6 elements here) 2. Mystery Mine (very interesting, but the first half is quite uncomfortable.) 3. Rage (smoothest, but shortest) 4. SpongeBob (Ehh, it's ok) 5. Dare Devil Dive (Boring and forgettable) I really love the designs, layouts, and innovations that Gerst comes up with, but I feel like they never quite mastered the basics. -
TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS
chickenbowl replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Update after this year: 1. Fire Dragon (RIP) 2. Alpengeist (better pacing than Montu) 3. Montu (what happened during that second half? slowwwwww) ... Bit of a gap here 4. Banshee 5. Afterburn 6. Patriot (underrated) 7. Ice Dragon 8. Raptor 9. Flight Deck (so good, just wish it was longer) 10. Silver Bullet 11. Batman (I've ridden 7, they're all about the same) 12. Great Bear
