  2. Okay cool, even though it'll be slammed the FP will take care of things...that's all I need to know! As I make my NY plans depending on the day I leave, I will figure out when I can go. This is def a park I wouldn't want to do just one day at, but since I've never been to NY I gotta pack a lot into one trip! I knew I could count on you two for advice. I'll check in with more details soon
  3. If I visit on a Saturday [weekend of Oct 14th or 21st] with a Plat FP, will I still be able to get 2+ rides on Toro and Nitro and the other big rides? I can shrug aside clones and kiddie credits as I've been on many before. I'm planning a NY trip since I've never been to NYC and feel like I need to make the trip to Great Adventure.
  4. I saw the "Mean Streak Henry" guy during my visit. I was shocked that no one has mentioned that the guy is at LEAST 70 and in a wheel chair. Do they seriously let the guy ride over and over and over? He was with 3 other older men all looking 70ish. Damn. There was also single rider Bob telling everyone he's running for president. Hmmm.
  5. Hmm maybe the Gatekeeper crew had the days off while I was there. They were by far the most lethargic during my 3 days. I still don't love that ride - some seats still have vests that squeeze the life out of me. We had 3 front row rides and two of the three on the left side suuucked.
  6. I'll post an organized story of my 3 day trip at CP, but just want to throw shout outs to Marcel (thrillkeeper?) and Josh (jrice) for great operations on Millennium. Nice to see TPR crushing capacity on world renowned coasters! Never had to wait long at all. Enjoy the rest of the summer there, guys. -Zach
  7. This ride looks crazy so I'm very happy for this to be added to the park! Seriously, Great America has an amazing selection of different types of coasters.
  8. Nooo that's not what I said. The ride was shockingly smooth, but the trains were so odd and uncomfortable. As for food, we're currently at DeMore's Offshore Bar and Grill and it's great. 5 min from Breakers Express, local caught perch/walleye, pour your own beer, specials like shrimp tacos, and everything is very reasonable. This is totally the local's seafood/bar hang out. http://www.demoresbarandgrill.com/
  9. Totally agree. I'm also a bit surprised that people don't talk about the WACK trains for Corkscrew. You are like, being folded over yourself, kind of sitting down?, the padding at your shoulders sticks further out than the part at your lower back, so that doesn't feel right....but it was...smooth? It's oneof those rides I've only been on one or two times since it's meh, but the airtime hill was crazy and it was shockingly smooth. Please give it new trains!
  10. As I approached the station and saw about 20 people in line for the front and no wait for any other seat, I thought to myself, "No. I'm not going to take coasterbill's advice to earn a mediocre ride." I took the ride op from Turkey's advice and sat in the back, keeping my head against the head rest and back against the seat back. Mean Streak screeched, shimmied, and shook us but it wasn't awful. It was just a boringass ride. It's not a beautiful structure or anything worth saving. It's time to go. And yes, it is secluded by itself on the otherside of the train tracks.
  11. 30 minutes for Valravn. Good addition to the line up! As much as I was expecting the vest restraints to kill the two drops, I was pleasantly surprised they did not. Only a front row ride so far, but it was pretty freaky how the breaks jostled you back and forth before the pause and drop. I didn't care for the inline twist/turn - what's so special/what's thr hype about again? And shockingly the airtime hill had a lil something!
  12. Park is pretty empty. Checked off the entire back half of the park before noon. The new Marina/Valravn entrance is nice! Famous Daves on the water is a good touch as well. I like Rougarou much more than Mantis, but it's still not a memorable ride. Maverick's cushy new shoulder harnesses are great, though I never had an issue with the old ones. Goddamn the ride is so good. I'm impressed with how smooth Dragster is in the back seat.
  13. It was just one cell. Didn't hit any rain until we got here...still isn't bad at all Can't wait for tomorrow!
  14. It has begun. Can't wait for Intamin action tomorrow Let's go
  15. I'm driving in from Chicago...anyone have any issues on Indiana Toll road/I90 E? It looks like there is some construction around South Bend, but that's about it.
  16. Is it any good? Mine's not maxed out but it seems like it's ceiling is pretty low so I didn't bother leveling it up. It helps against certain types. I wanted to have a powerful Dark type since my other dark types ended up having poison attacks..
  17. You're correct, but after riding multiple times with TONS of room between myself and the lapbar I'm happy to report that the seat belts don't affect the ride experience at all. No difference between 2016 and 2009 floating around in your seat. Capacity? Different story.
  18. Sage advice. Don't get fit shaced before important credits. I'm sticking with this plan Saturday night before my CP trip. I had a disaster in 2012 when I got the opportunity to go see the NBA Allstar Game in Orlando. 20 years old and drinking scotch with TNT executives into the late hours and then figured out we had tix to IOA @ 9am. Yup, moving was too difficult and I missed out. Never again!
  19. Always impressive to see how many parks you find and such, but honestly is it really worth it to go out to the park if there's just a powered coaster or carbon copy mouse that you've ridden a bunch before?
  20. Downtown Chicago is pretty fantastic for check-ins and rare guys floating around. Can't wait to see what's poppin' at Cedar Point! Anyone else besides me have a maxed out Arbok?
  21. I second this. I've only been shooting a couple times and really didn't even think about that activity being offered out there for some reason..but you mentioned a couple guns [MP40/Thompson] that I had been proficient at using in Call of Duty and that would be pretty incredible to shoot in real life! I've got to check that place out when I go.
  22. You and me both, buddy! Can't wait. Although, I did not reserve FL ahead of time. Going to judge the crowds on Monday and Tuesday.
  23. Holy crap these "ThrillCoaster Tours" are for teens only. Dear lord...imagine a group of Henry M's and MadMax's descending upon your park.
  24. Kentucky Rumbler and Thunderhead run in December
  25. I'm less than 10 days to the trip and already too excited to sleep. I honestly can't find any trip reports of the waterpark (not surprised), but can anyone call out any must ride slides? I'm a waterpark fun, but honestly nothing looks beyond average. Anyone care to disagree? I've read the fresh french fry places have gotten a face lift, Pink's is hit or miss, and Chickie and Pete's is the most recommended place in the park. I don't plan on eating much in the park, but am I missing any reliable park food?
