  1. This is a boring, tired news story that comes up every couple of years. What, since they built the house before the park maybe the solution is to help better insulate the house better? Either way this shouldn't impact KI's hours. Why aren't they complaining about the fireworks instead
  2. I never noticed those. It might be one of the mascots.
  3. Stunning photos! I don't know anything about Godzilla or the movies so all of the added details make it super easy to see where it was filmed, that's so cool.
  4. It's just soooo big. And it was tough to find a route directly through it; I'm not sure if there was. If I was on the East side and needed to get to the West side I ended up just walking around; which took a while. It's all part of the fun of learning the area though. It really feels like a big accomplishment!
  5. I love all of the pictures of the ride up! It was so pretty and there were, of course, more ferris wheels along the way. It was so easy to get to Fuji Q, Elissa couldn't have made it any easier to get there. Of course, the most difficult part is .... S h i n j u k u S t a t i o n You always do a great job of recreating the day through text and this part is no different! There were so many parts of our Fuji Q day, and rightfully so since it was a 16-18 hour day, that this day deserves a 3 parter haha. DoDoDonpa is so good. I'm happy that we have Full Throttle in the states now, it's a nice consolation prize. Keep this trip report rolling!
  6. I like what I'm seeing so far. The boat ride sounds great since outside of the regular train and ferris wheel, the sit down leisurely rides are short and don't give you much of an opportunity to catch your breath (buckets, antiques). I think there's still more work to be done, though. My visits the past 2 years just didn't feel as special or as fun as others in the past. It's kind of a chore to have the most fun at CP: between trying to visit during the right time of year/weekday/weekend, extra wait times for FL, rides/coasters not operating (either scheduled or unscheduled), lack of shade, below CP standard ops, dated restrooms, and food & bev still working through struggles. Tack on the potential for a record attendance next year with the gold pass sales, I'm hoping the staff and management have a plan in place. Hopefully my visits were just unlucky/lackluster, but there's more to a stellar theme park than just coasters.
  7. Looks like you had a great plan going into this park as a good day or bad day at Energylandia seems to be a coin flip. This park is so alluring, especially with the new Vekoma hotness on the way. Thanks for the great report! Hilarious, as always.
  8. My money is on scheduled ride closures in May, June, September, October! No clue what they're up to!
  9. Another great update! Joypolis looks like so much fun and so unique to us Americans. I remember those virtual roller coasters at huge Dave and Busters like places as a kid but never got to experience one. So these type of places fascinate me. Can't wait for the next update!
  10. I loved the Dotonbori area it was just so lively and the energy was infectious. The ferris wheel looked awesome! Great to see it running again, I didn't know it was not operational for that extended period of time.
  11. Osaka castle looks awesome! I really want to spend more time in Osaka next visit. Excited for the next update! I'll start getting my sh*t together soon for my own trip report.
  12. The Jizzman Claus is coming to town hahahaha. Last winterfest I believe all the the majors were open so you should be good. Is your name a derivative of jizzmaster zero?? It was 2009 pre Texas trip and Robb was on a live podcast. So when there was an opportunity to call in I called and (my original name was PKI ManJZ) when he asked who was calling and I said who it was he said "PKI who? Jizzman?" And boom that became the screen name. I think it ties to a Ron Jeremy movie. Anyways glad to know they're open, but what about in the rain! Post San Jose trip edit: Yeah the whole area got downpoured on and flooded the whole weekend. Next time!
  13. Of course I had to re read the other parts of this report before getting to USJ! Great start to the Japan trip and I'm so happy that you got so many back seat rides on Dino. The farthest back I was assigned to was 4 or 6.. that tease of the airtime in the back is enough to make me want to return and stay until I get a back seat ride haha. I had the same experience on Hollywood Dream. First ride was just fine, but towards the back you really feel how steep the ups and downs of the hills are. I left USJ really loving Dream. Like bert said... rat tat tat!!
  14. Saturday is looking like rain alllllll day; between half and 3/4 inch of rain and 60*. I'm kind of expecting them to close at this point. IF they are open, do they typically run Goldstriker, Flight Deck, and Railblazer? The website wasn't much help. Thanks everyone! Really hoping I can go for an hour and check out those 3.
  15. Oh I forgot to mention in an earlier post - you are right and wrong at the same time, haha. Yomiuri Giants are at Tokyo Dome / Thunder Dolphin. Although I understand your logic that Yomiuri Giants are probably next to Yomiuri Land haha. But that stadium next to Yomiuri Land IS for the Yomiuri Giants' farm/prospect team haha. So it is for the upcoming Yomiuri Giants players but the official team is at Tokyo Dome.
  16. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens both have some pretty good deals going on if you know you're going to be making a trip to either or both of those parks in 2020. 2 park ticket for $72, fun cards for both locations discounted 20%-40%, all season quick que for Sea World for $100. I went ahead and jumped on the fun cards and passes for the family so we'll be making quite a few trips to SeaWorld/Aquatica/Bucsch Gardens in 2020. Awesome, thanks. I took a look a few days ago and saw 'must visit by Jan 31 2020' and left the page. So I'll definitely look again today!
  17. I just bought a "Tushy" bidet. Oshiri! (Butt in Japanese)
  18. Alex with the smug look in every photo, haha I love it. Another excellent chapter bert!!
  19. Great report of TDL! It's so cool to see how the park looks slightly different throughout the year and the changes that have been made since we were there. A lot of details I missed/didn't notice, too!
  20. Was hoping they were going to pick up that last Raptor on discount
  21. I should have bumped this since this is my division of ad sales with CN I like what they have done here, but they're missing the big entertainment piece to justify the cost. There's a dinky pool and weak slide and an arcade. There's not a slide complex or Dave & Busters level of gaming offering there. For those who even make Dutch Wonderland a destination vacation, this is going to be a difficult conversion. It's a great idea but the cost is wack.
