  1. I'm glad this thread was brought back up. I still have more TR's to finish! Though I may warn you - they are coaster-less! I have some awesome photos of the cities, mountains, and rainforests. I'll be updating soon! Thanks, guys! -JZ
  2. Woah, those fountains look reaaallllllyyyyy close to the track on the SLC!
  3. Wow, Jungula looks really, really nice! The whole atmosphere looks like it fits the theme, with alot of things to do! The zip line and whole play area looks like alot of great fun!
  4. Well, let's see. The first time I rode Mean Streak, I thought it was kinda lame, and didn't really care for it. It was a long ride and I have to admit something. No matter what coaster I go on, I have a good time. SoB, Mean Streak, Hurler. I enjoy pretty much every ride I go on. I just thought it didn't belong at CP. They should have something better. And that's really the only time I needed to ride, I'd rather spend my time waiting in line for a better ride. If I want a mediocre woodie, I can just stay home at KI
  5. Awesome stuff, Will! Can't wait to see some more!
  6. Well, I don't think the launch has changed on FoF since the first time I rode it. The first three inversions are pretty crazy, being thrown all over the place. But right after that, you come to nearly a complete stop. Maybe you do! But the front car hangs down the banked curve and then the rest of the train is pulled down. From there on, it's really nothing; except for the last cork, where you get some sick hangtime. I guess FoF is on 1/2 pansy mode.
  7. Too bad that Poltergiest has got a case of the pansies like FoF does. My friend told me that they were told to do that to 'make the ride longer'. Atleast the cork at the end is pretty tight
  8. I really, really can't wait to go to SFMM in about a year from now and see how much the park has to offer. Here's what I'm seeing right now. -SFMM is making awesome, great improvements; yet CP is just kinda adding rides. All my trips to CP feel about the same; just adding a new coaster. If SFMM keeps up what it's doing now, I could see a huge pull to SFMM. BUT. They need more thrill rides man! I mean look: -No drop ride -No top spin -No Screaming Swing Or any big name popular thrill ride I can think of. Yes, they have the coasters, but not the thrill rides. I really never hear about any. Besides the removed FreeFall and Tilt-a-Whirl
  9. My family is talking about a trip out west, and I thought I was going to be able to catch this in time, but I guess not. Oh well, I'll get a bunch of updates before I get there! Can't wait!
  10. I think it would be awesome to have a B&M Flyer in the environment that Atlantis Adventure has. (yes, the aqua trax) Seeing something partially inclosed, and a few parts outside that give a tase of what you're about to experiance. But on the inside, there's alot of high tech stuff as far as the effects go. There could be some close calls with going over the water, and wouldn't it be awesome to have a splash down where the coaster flips riders over onto their backs and goes into a Sheikra-type splash? Think Air + splash down. I think that would be awesome if it could work out, just a thought.
  11. I read The Beast book! I think I still have it at home somewhere. The coaster is haunted and when some kids stow away and when they ride it after close, they travel back in time to the 1930s to an amusement park called Firelight Park, which supposedly Kings Island was built on top of. It was written by RL Stine, which explains the weird plot line. Not only that, there's a sequel too! That one, I believe, is at home as well. It's really second verse, same as the first. I remember getting these books when I was just starting out as a little coaster enthusiast and reading them over and over again. Amazing TR Jahan, but I expect nothing less. That was seriously the worst book over. Plot? Lol, they were threatened to be turned into fish and needed to eat caramel to go back or something. Even as a 5th grader, I was dissapointed.
  12. I think SoB is okay. It's fun for a front seat ride, just kinda speeding all over the place in circles and what not. On a RARE occasion, if you sit in the back seat; you can get some nice air over the first drop. Most of the GP are too scared to ride, or don't care. It's all about Firehawk and the Beast! But me, you'll find me on Drop Zone
  13. "You think I’m joking too! I’m NOT. So here we are, getting on a really small woodie, next to a woodie called the “Teddy Bear”. We go down the first few drops and turns, just sort of joking around, shouting “Weeeeee” and whatnot. All of a sudden, we drop down after that little dip and get this bout of airtime out of nowhere! WTF?!?! I mean, we’re not talking Cyclops status, but still enough to write home about. I was totally amazed. To be honest, in my opinion, I’d probably rate it one of the top 10 wood coasters on the trip!" -Jahan Dude, I'm so glad to hear more reviews like this! I was thinking the same after going there a year or two ago. It's a nice surprise! Well, to every coaster at KI, you need to know where to set for an enjoyable ride. Vortex is the second to last car, SOB is random, ugh I can go on and on. It was great to meet up with Casey and others I saw. Too bad everyone was scattered in KI. Gah, maybe next year Thanks for the awesome midwest trip Jahan! -JZ
  14. The speed slides at Wet 'n Wild Australia. Your shoulders will be red for the rest of the day. I'm nervous about riding any body slide at KI, I always get fiberglass in my back when riding them.
  15. Awesome pictures, great to see many SFOG TR's since I'm going June.
  16. Hmmm....they only line I hate waiting for is Dragster. It's just back and forth in a cramped area with nothing really do to. MF, Maverick, those have some things to do. Firehawk was pretty bad, though.
  17. Prediction for tomorrow. Xavier - 65 UCLA - 59
  18. Well, wayyy down under at Movie World Australia...there's this little ride called "Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster." It's some place you hardly hear about, and when you do, it's usually Superman. But man, this indoor wild mouse is incredible. It's got tight turns, airtime, and unexpected surprises. The theming is way off the chart inside the qeue, and on the ride. If anyone is down in the Gold Coast area, you should definately check out the park...and Scooby Doo! -JZ
  19. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? -Quick links to the new threads, pictures, and updates. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? -There should be a bigger attraction or "Look Here!!!" to the TPR store. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? -Nope. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? -Usually just the days I've missed. 5. How often do you look at the front page? -Well, I have the Theme Parks forum as my home page, so I check it every now and then. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? -Very seldom. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? -Nothing, really. Just a bigger pull to the store would be better for the site in my opinion. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? -Just what I mentioned about the store.
  20. Yup pretty much. I could see the Title Fairy paying this guy a visit soon...
  21. Mark, I think it's safe to say that you take the best pictures at CP. I love trying to get shots of riders on the ride and see the expressions later. I think some of the best are on the Vekoma/B&M Flyers
  22. Awesome TR Scraparri! I really want to do one of these trips soon. But for right now I'm going to stick to little trips to parks in my area. I can't wait to see more!
  23. Awesome TR, Jarmor! Ugh, I think it's safe to say I was too young to appreciate the flyers. Every time I went by, I just skipped it for Beast or Vortex. Myeh, hopefully I'll be able to get back down for some more Afterburn action
  24. Wow, this looks like it could be the best GCI out there!
