  1. Aw...thanks dude! It sounds so go and I most deffinately will be back to experiance the Superman Escape. I didn't think it had that much of a pre show before...I counldn't find anything on it.
  2. Hey guys! Another big TR! I went Movie World on Sunday, trying to get over the fact that Superman was going to be down and down the whole time I'm here. We got to the park around 11:30 or 12. I really liked this park. It's a smaller park than Dreamworld, but still had tons of rides/attractions to offer. the whole park is beautifuly landscaped and themed. There's four areas to the park, from what I saw. What you first walk into is the 'Superhero' section of the park with Superman and Batman rides. From where you walk into the park to the right and a little zig zag was the "main street" area. It was walking on a 'street' and there were shops to the left and right, along with different rides and shows. To the right off the main street was the Warner Bros. Kids area. To the left was the Wild West portion of the park with the Australia version of Splash Mountain. And finally there's a back alley you travel down to get to Lethal Weapon. The park wasn't too crowded at all. The most I waited was probably 20 minutes for Wild West and Scooby about mid day...the rest of the day the crowds died. Here are my ride reviews: Scooby Doo: Wow, I really didn't know what to expect from an indoor Wild Mouse. The moment you stepped inside it felt like you were in this haunted castle. There were gargoyles sitting around and monsters on the fountains. There was a video playing about the SD Movie and a bit about the ride. Once you got through the open queue area, you walked down a darker hallway and into the station. Great ride ops kept the cars and line moving. There's 3 different parts to this highly themed ride. The moment you depart the station you enter through swinging doors and Scooby is warning you about ghosts or something. You drop down past falling knights and hit a trim, only to be sped up by tires. You dodge monsters, ghouls, swinging axes and 'other cars' before you stop at a dead end. Two cars load on this elevator and it starts to go up as you hear "Scoooby...where are you?" .."I'm up heeere!" And then the elevator starts to tilt to the left and right. You stop and wait for a minute as the car behind you dispatches. All of a sudden you roll backwards down a big drop! One of those great Wild Mouse airtime moments before you skid to a stop. You can barely see the rest of the typical Wild Mouse back and forth hair pin turns. But this is awesome because you're in the dark, strobes, lights, and lasers are going all over...and party music is blasting! You car spins around to forewards and you dispatch down the hairpin turns. Six out of my seven rides were trimless! There's a few awesome unexpected drops you can't see that give great airtime. You slow down and head into a room and Scooby says something I couldn't understand. Another small dip and you turn into the exit platform. I loved this ride. It was absolutely fun every time I rode it! Each time I noticed something new, but still got surprised by different ghosts, turns, and drops. It's a fantastic coaster and would have rivaled Superman! Deffinately a top ten coaster for me. A+ Lethal Weapon: Great queue as you will see in an upcoming video...but the ride....myehhh. It's funny because it seems they are trying to hide the ride from everybody 'cause the only entrance is this narrow alley! Well, it was my first SLC. It looked like it would be good with the themeing, a new coat of paint on it, and new/unblemished looking trains. Oh...and it's not *JUST* a regular old SLC...it's an SLC with a bonus Helix!!!! So the layout of the ride was cool. The first drop and heart-loop was smooth in the front....but holy crap, the rest was hell. Right now both my shoulders are sore from the many parts where my whole body was thrown side to side. Ughh....so much headbanging! The double roll was the WORST. Some guy's ears were bleeding because he had these earings in. I think a smooth SLC would be good....but damn, this ride is Lethal! D Wild, Wild West: This ride was really cool! It had a couple parts similar to Splash Mountain, but not as much action. It was a well themed ride with lots of interactive scenes. Some where you go backwards! It was very liesurely through most parts, just coasting and watching the scenes until you got to the 65ft drop! A very good drop and splash...you got wet, but you weren't drenched. B After a few rides we got some food in the Wild West section of the park...Mmm, Apache Burger. Next we went to the Police Academy Stunt show! It was really funny and really cool. There were many explosions, including one MASSIVE fireball at the end. It was pretty far away, but DAMN was it hot! There was this cool guy on a golf cart doing wheelies, a guy in a Hot Rod drifting and sliding back and forth, along with police cars sliding left and right. It was about a 30 minute show and I loved every minute of it! SEE THIS IF YOU GO! A+ After the show we went to the bumper cars. kinda hidden inside the acrade. These were different buper cars....they didn't have the rod that goes up to a cage above you, it was like they were 'wireless'. A few fun runs was nessicary! Next we went into the Kids section of the park, fitting because we had two girls under 3 with us. I got my credit on the Road Runner express....fun little ride but bad whiplash on the brakes. Just when I thought it cuold be a good little Vekoma, it got me when I least expected! Then we decided to go on the Looney Tunes Rive Adventure. Woooow...what a confusing waste of time. You go into these studios and find that Bugs has dissapeared down a hole...so you get into this machine that dives down through the ground and you end up in Australia. Oh, you 'magically entered into Hollywood' when you entered the ride. Soo...you went from Australia...to Hollywood....back to Australia. And you ride around and the lame animatronics say something at each corner until you end up sliding down to a little splash finish. So confusing...so lame. After that we decided to try Lethal Weapon again in the front, hoping it was smoother.....WRONG. It was actually worse than the back. After LW, we got about 4 more rides on Scooby Doo. Then headed to the Superhero section of the park. Batwing: It's a 180ft tall S&S space shot. Better than CP's Power Tower! It had a really cool launch (see video) and had GREAT ejector air on the first launch. Then you got two more bounces with a bit of floater air, surprisingly. B+ Batman The Adventure 2: Where's Batman one? You walk into Batman's library and watch this festival down town. Something goes off and you head into the Batcave. From there you are told that Heath Ledger, Arnold Schwartzenegger, and Hallie Berry are on the loose. You get in this new vehicle and track them down, destroying one at a time starting with Ledger. Apparently he was back from the dead threatening Bush to pass the Gay Marriage act before his rule ended. Arnold was having a problem with the fires in LA and wanted to steal this massive diamond to power his ice cannon. And I didn't know what Hallie wanted, she was trying to help with Arnold. It's one of those simulators, by the way. So after that I got a few more rides on Batwing, Scooby, and WWW before heading out with some ice cream. Thanks for reading if you did and enjoy they pics and vids! It's Hollywood on the Gold Coast! Best Movie World entrance? -sigh- Time for the biggest surprise of the trip. Mmm...lotsa theming! Just like the movie, too! This wasn't much of a surprise... My first SLC.....why was I smiling, I do not know. Maybe because I just got off Scooby. It looks so fun....so shiny... Mmm...extra helix, the only smooth part. Such a nice park. Movie World loves their perfectly trimmed trees. Over to Wild Wild West! Only about a 20 minute wait...but it's hot out there. Your fate awaits you. Yay buzz bars on log flumes! Grr. Me angry. Me drive glitery wireless bumpercar. Hey Robb! Up next is the Police Academy Stunt Show! Not many pics, but I took videos....which aren't working for some reason. This guy ruled. He only cummunicated with a whistle and managed to have everyone rolling on the floor with laughter for 20 minutes. Need wetness to obtain a good drifting area...and happy crowd. Try to guess the staged character. .... If you guessed this guy, you win! LOL, his name is Rodney. That's not all, folks!
  3. Ugh, that cheese... I always scoop handfuls of it off into a trash can before I eat the coney... Duuuude! The cheese is one of the best parts!
  4. Well I would if I could, but I leave the 16th...and the revamping finishes the 17th...so, maybe nex time. It looked really good and stuff... but like I said I still had tons of fun. I went down to Surfer's Paradise before and caught some waves down there....pretty cold water and it's like running on an underwater treadmill! The waves reaaalllyyyy pull you in and then throw you out.
  5. Hey guys, I went to Movie World today and had a blast despite Superman being down! Scooby Doo coaster freaking rules. I'll post the TR later, I'm beat.
  6. Good TR! It's fun to see what other people think of KI. OMG, Having the FOF ride op dressed up as an alien would be awesome!!!
  7. I'm leaving the 16th. I'd go anyways. coolhandluke - Yup, two sides...and both were running with one seat down on each. So it was a total capacity of 14 people. Woohoo. And one of the sides was down about half the day. Oh - for those who want to know what the TOT queue is like, watch the video below! tot qeue.zip TOT Queue walk through!
  8. Here's a video of both sides Giant Drop and Tower of Terror. gd and tot.zip
  9. I heard Bush offered 4 tootsie rolls, a lollipop, and a coupon to chuck-e-cheese for this piece of land. Sorry mom, I can't go to school today....I've got a bad case of Veritgo. Riders prepare for the experiance of their lifetime. And I happened to be that next rider. 400ft is a loooonnnnggggg way up there. It's just you sittin' up in the clouds. THE Dreamworld Tower. It says Tower of Terror on the side if you can tell. There you are...just a little drop of oil falling from atop the tower... Here's the Eureka mine ride. It's an indoor/outdoor wild mouse...as someone said before, line were ripped out and there were games blocking entrance/exit. Up next....the Thunder something Rapids ride! This is where the chair lift ride station was, obviously...random supports still left out there. The rapids ride coasting down the Dreamworld river. RapidsNerd loves those Aussie rapids! Well, the ride was fun...but there were only three places you have a chance to get wet! Oh, and there's some cool pitch black parts and some guys messing with dynamite. Two guys got a small splash....And I got one GIANT wave washed over me. Verdict is - Unacceptable ammount of wetness! Nick Universe. KI's is better. Yay foreign Reptar. I got all the available credits. There's a tiger exibit between Wiggles World and Nick U, smashed next to T.O.T. Yay Bengals! Unfortunately that's all I have for my Dreamworld TR! Hope you guys enjoyed the pics, I plan on Movie World sunday and Wet 'n wild during the week! Oh, I thought this massive 25' by 10' sign would be appropriate for some TPR members.
  10. To answer some questions first... What do you think of Dreamworld? I think it's a great park with a lovely atmosphere. It has different 'worlds' for everyone in the family. Wiggles World/Nick Univ. for kids, Family rides scattered all over, and the "Big 6" thrill rides. -I see one BIG flaw with the park. All of the queues are small, except for Cyclone. All of the lines are made for small crowds! I mean, none have switch backs, and on a weekend, I could see the midways FLOWING with lines from who knows what rides. -Capacity. Oh Dreamworld. You have a SBNO Wild mouse, a reverse freefall coaster, a kiddie vekoma, one train op Arrow looper, and your biggest line eater (Mick Doohan) takes 20 minutes to go through a small "here and back" line. Oh and for half of the day, Giant Drop ran one side - 7 people moving every 4 minutes. Worst capacity ever? -They need a ride that's longer. All their coasters ride length ranges from 30 seconds to minute thirty seconds. Where's the ride where after an hours wait I can enjoy?! -Ride placements. Okay, so Tower of Terror is located between Wiggles World and Nick Univ. there's no other way of getting to it without going through one of the worlds. Mick Doohan - really randomly placed, right by a crappy river and Wiggles World. It seems like it's the Fuji Q of Australia. They need a big capacity eater and something that people will line up for. Mick Doohan's MotoCoaster! It's the new coaster/attraction for 2007! Almost doggy style? You climb into your dirt bike thing and pull the front half of it down so it locks over your thighs. Then the thing comes and fits against your back. The ride is pretty slow for a dirt bike racing track...it would have been alot better if it was faster. It's kinda like....a tame Rita with an odd seating. Meandering through some zig zags and hops. It's a smooth Intamin. The launch is sooooo weak, though. Pssssstttt....Intamin, stick to the hydraulics... It was a fun ride. Nothing really standoutish or amazing. The line movement was absolute crap, though. Oh, and the last two sets of motorcycles, there's a little side car you can choose to sit down and ride in if you wish. I'll give it a C+ Okay, it was getting hot....so we went over to the.....LOG RIDE! Yeah, that drop is REALLY lame. It was a cool little log ride, and it had this AWESOME random dinosaur in it! A decant splash....seemed to get everyone on the left side only, though.... And coming up next...... Oh, random fact about the incredible Giant Drop. It's not called Giant Drop because of it's frickin' free fall...it's because you're a giant drop of oil falling from the top of the tower! Muahahahhahaha.
  11. Hey everyone! I had an action packed day at Dreamworld today. After a small delay with loosing one of the Canadian exchange students on the trains, but we all met up at Dreamworld. I'll let the pictures talk! Ride Count: T.O.T - 3, back outside seat wins. Giant Drop - 7 times. Incredible. cyclone - once is enough Wipeout - 3 times Claw - 6 times? Log ride - once Rapids Ride - once Reptar - once Bumper cars - once Mick Doohan - once Reef Diver - once John doing the Pringles duck thing to entertain while on the trains. Amusing because Lays Chips here are Smith's. Exact copy. Stacks > Pringles. We got to the station at about 9:30, and the park opens at 10. This is Giant Drop/TOT from the train station. It's about a 5 minute bus ride. Yeah, it's huge. At 10AM, we arrive at Dreamworld!!! The skyline is half park rides, and the other half is White Water World sticking out. Here's the fountains inside the entrance. But as some of you may know, most of Queensland have been in a serious drought. Sooo due to water restrictions they are off. First ride of the day was Cyclone! It's an Arrow custom looper that was relocated from some other park, I believe. Before you get to the ride....you must walk 5 minutes in circles! On the way up on the outside...on the way exiting the ride you cross over the entrance like an intersection and walk on the inside going down. Most pointless queue EVER. It's a pretty good ride. I like how you aren't really sunk down into the cars. The layout is like an extended corkscrew coaster. Here's the view from the other side of the station. It's the REVERSE side loop! You go through the corkscrewy part first, then half loop into the loop. I bet Jahan and Beer Guy would love to get their hands on these Aussie inversions. Overall, Cyclone was fun. It had a lame drop, but a fun ride. C+ Next up was Wipeout! It's one of those top spins that twists crazily. It's themed to....surprise...a massive wave that the surfers are crashing on! Too bad there weren't any water effects... Oh my God...these things were not built for comfort. First the harness comes down and pushes as hard as it can against your pelvis. Then the lap bar thing comes down and locks. It's quite painful if you don't do anything about it pre-ride. Despite slamming your body against the restraint and pushing all body limits, this ride was really good. A solid B. Next up....THE CLAW. It's like a Huss frisbee but smaller and wayyyyy better. This thing gave awesome forces, floater air, and gave 7 swings beyond vertical! A!!!! OI! I'M A CLAW. GIMME CANDY OR I'LL CLAW YOUR CAR! I've got a claw on me claw! Mmmm....The Claw. <3 Screw Delirium. Awesome random clown. Every park should have one. The famous shiny silver face you enter to TOWER OF TERROR. It says, "Gimme all your electrical power so I can charge up my magnets." Feels like I'm going into the Boiler Room. Well, I though the Front Row was a good idea....WRONG. There's this massive windshield infront of your face. You can hardly see anything. TOT - It's a quick ride. The launch is lame, I didn't feel any of the "6.5 seconds of weightlessness", and I doubt it got up to 377ft. Yeah, it was fun, something different. C+ This is the part when your body goes SMUSH into the seat. Yay Intamin T-Bars! Yay for 15 riders per car with one car. It goes high. Maybe about 300ft or so. Now, since I did have a lot of time in the park, and there was a short short line....I decided to ride again. This time I got in the last row, outside seat. It's like sitting in any outside seat of an Intamin coaster. Lots of movement. WELL. I liked this go wayyy better. I had a GREAT view. I could look side to side and backward easily! And as we were speeding up, a Giant Drop car flew RIGHT by. Now that is something you need to experience to understand what I'm talking about. You're about 5-8ft away from hitting each other at about 70mph each. Now THAT is a thrill! That go got a B+!!! Oh, and that's as high as it will go up ^ It's kinda loud. It's similar to hearing Dragster roar by. I thought it was going to be louder after hearing people talk about Superman.
  12. I'm back! Robb, I rode Reptar and to me it felt slower than KI's. Thunder, I thought that Cyclone was pretty smooth...but it did have a few bumps. One on the turn before the zig zag, and one on the back turn around underneath some random slide. Will update with pictures! Oh, and videos of Giant Drop, TOT and the qeue, and other stuff I took! -J "Oh...about 7 times..." Z
  13. Ohhh...I didn't think that credit would count because it's a clone. Like how I saw in some TR's "Elissa skipped this wild mouse because she already has the credit in CA!" Or is this just some JJ rule I'm getting confused with? Gav - Ohhh....I never pressed that button! I always pressed the one on the left and it was just some big SKLOOSH. Haha, I'll go right button next time to get the in person experience.
  14. Thanks for the bit of info! My plan is to go straight for Giant Drop or Tower of Terror. It's a Thursday and school day, so crowds shouldn't be bad... I'm going to get in all the rides I can, skipping Reptar since I have one at home. Camera is charging now!
  15. I'm going to Dreamworld tomorrow! Oh - I know the US has high safety standards and restrictions about bringing thing into their parks. Anyone know if Dreamworld or Movie World will let me bring in a back back or some food/drinks?
  16. I'm getting a discount at Dreamworld for being an international student! Oh....and don't play games unless you're a games employee and know all the cheats and secrets!!
  17. Well, I guess it isn't a surprise to see it go. Is Dominator taking the place? Or is that in some remotely different part of the park.
  18. I lied..it's going to be storming alllll day. Ughhh don't know if I will go thursday, maybe next week. BLAHHHHH.
  19. I cant get that video, but I got to head off to school...it's 8AM! But to satisfy you guys now, check this out. I call it the Australian Waterfall. And it's only for the guys!
  20. Haha, now everyone was telling me the toilets flush the wrong way....but they don't! It's like..water spews from each side as everything is sucked down, lol. Sorry RapidsNerd, I don't think I'm going to be able to visit the little parks. Théo, you're fine! Thanks for the comments, guys! I'm planning my Dreamworld trip today and am going to try to go tomorrow! -J "Mmm...tallest drop tower in the world...." Z
  21. Hey TPR! As some of you may know, I've had the privelage of being an exchange student for my school, Moeller High School. I am currently staying is Brisbane, Australia...right on the coast! I am about two weeks into my stay, and about three weeks more! I'm going to Dreamworld in the next couple days and hitting up Movie World and Wet 'n Wild soon. So we went to the Australia Zoo today. It was really good, they did a great job showcasing the crocs, birds, snakes, 'roos, tigers, and elephants. I really liked how there was alot of interaction between the workers/animals and the guests. They had a great message of keeping the world clean and keeping the animals safe, aswell as humans too. Something I didn't like/thought was wierd was how much Steve Irwin stuff was there. They had him on bilboards infront of the place and near it. There were pictures of him and action figures and CRIKEY everywhere...it was just too much, and they were advertising "The home of the crocodile hunter" EVERYWHERE. It was just abit wierd... Speaking of Irwins, i didn't see any. Unfortunately, my batery ran out before i finished the day with the snake room......really wasn't much there, just a dark room with snakes. They had the Fierce snake who's bite can kill 100 men, making it the MOST venemous snake on EARTH. It was a very awesome and beautiful place with plenty of theming for each attraction, and I'd recomend it to anyone out there! Ohh.....and remember, CROCS RULE!!!! Got done playing a game of criket with my exchange mate, Doug! For those who don't know what criket is, the best way to explain it is like Home Run Derby and Pickle combined....all on a 5 hour scale. First little habitat I saw upon entering the zoo. It's a komodo dragon-ish lizard. We went and watched a show about these small otters, they swam around and chased after food....and made annoying cat-like noises. A giant tortise named....*sigh* Goliath. 50% of males die during mating because the fall over on their shell and can't roll over! LOL!!! Lol, I thought this sign was funny. A pair of fresh water crocs. A koala! Sleeping...surprise. Inside the Crocoseum! It's a pretty big thing to fit inside the zoo, and it gives the animals a nice habitat to move around in while being in the show. The park was pretty dead today... Awesomeness - So this one woman is going on and on telling people to stay away from snakes and don't bother them and keep safe, blah blah blah....So then she's talking about how guys get bitten more than woman, and she's rambling on about how women are smarter. So the other guy is like.."No, it's because snakes never come into the kitchen!" And alllllllll the guys in the crocoseum laughed their ass off. A croc named Graham. He is a saltwater croc about 15ft. long. Must be where all the good 'roos go.. Yup, most 'roos are chillin' under the trees! "Yeah, pretty much lay around while people bring me food and crap....this really is heaven, right?" G'day mate. Sittin' next to an older grey 'roo. Kangaroo mid-hop! It's a Caseybird. I forget the name to this guy, too... A trio of elephants in an awesome themed south-east Asia area. A big tiger named Khan. Possible relation to Spanish Khan. Some great theming aswell as a place to remember one of the recently deceased elephants. One of the younger tigers messing around with one of the trainers in the water. Another shot of the tigers messing around....two brothers and a sister I think. It was really cool how thye explained how they interact with them and how they control their behviors with discipline and reward. Back to chillin' with the red 'roos! I wish they all had names. The kangaroo is pretty sweet, it lays around in the shade...might get up to find some food or water.... It's a kookabura! Lol, it's a wombat...and it's name is Meg. It's a dingo! And those are all the pics from the aussie zoo. I had a blast there and hope to go back some time in the future. I thought this was hilarious....insert own caption for the emu! Taken at an emu farm. Thanks for reading and more updates will be soon! Next: Bunya Mountains.
  22. I don't think Flight Deck is -that- bad of a name....I really don't like the Crypt and Backlot Coaster.....but now they are making Drop Zone look like crap. Couldn't they use Giant Drop or something?
  23. http://www.pki.com/attractions/detail.cfm?ai_id=160 I can't believe they actually changed DROP ZONE.....to DROP TOWER. This is f*cking rediculous....other names are available...Hellivator is open! F*ck you Cedar Fair! ......
  24. I'm planning on visiting Dreamworld on wednesday or tuesday...Movie World is still in the midst of planning..
  25. I'm returning to my games department this year. Woopdedo. Maybe I should switch to ride op...
