  1. What would I think it would be? Maybe that new Baltoro coming into that Japaneese park. But I think it'd be EGF or SROS (SFNE) As of right now, the best coaster around to me is Maverick.
  2. Hey, man those pictures are great. You have any more of just the park in general? I'd really appreciate it if you could post them. Oh, and KI sucks for taking out the Skyride. I want one.
  3. Wow, thanks alot, dude! I really wished they kept Kings Island as Kings Island...
  4. Thanks for the video, Scruffy. I wish Winterfest was as big of a deal to KI today as it was back then....
  5. I know I have some old 1997 or 1996 video of some guy dreaming he was at SFMM for the day. They gave some POVs of Ninja, Psyclone, Viper, and Flashback! It's on VHS somewhere in the basement...if I find it I'll post the name. It was my first coaster video!
  6. Thanks so much for all the responses, guys! Once I am able to read all them, I'll give some feed back, back Happy Holidays too all! -JZ
  7. Yup! For 10$, you can't beat that! It's already hard to find some good DVD's of coasters, but usually you would expect to pay 20-30 bucks! But for 10$?! I think it's a steal. RapidsNerd couldn't have said it better. But a BoC would be really cool.
  8. I'll add in a couple things I learned from the RAW DVD. -Sheikra creaks and sounds like it's giving a LOT of stress on the track! -Eejaniaka is very painfull -Go, go Phaethon!!! -El Toro still looks freaking awesome -Bonus Video rules! -Zaturn has some special chest padding or something? -Superman looks like it has some great moments of B&M air!
  9. I just got the DVD today! I really like the front and back cover, great work on that! Unfortunately, it didn't work for my Toshiba DVD player.....so I stuck them in the Apple computer and it poped right up! What can I say, this is the DVD I was waiting for. Fantistic footage of some of the greatest wooden and steel coasters out there! Not only are there great action shots off ride in the coaster's area, but there are foreward and reverse pov's! One of the parts I really like about it is the total specs before, so it's like it's very organized; unlike a park video where it's just random shots. And one more thing I really love is that it's completely RAW footage! Raw is raw! You can hear people talking, the music and just the general idea of things going on in the ride's surrounding area. Fantastic job, R&E! 10/10 Hey, I'm going there Saturday! Mmm....high quality stengel dive..... -JZ
  10. Dude! Awesome TR! Pics are sweeeeet! Crystal clear.
  11. Wow, Adventure Express looks like shit compared to the Adventure Express in that video. Vortex Gemini Magnum <3
  12. I would vote for ya, but even the signing up isn't working for me. They want your daytime phone number and adress?!
  13. www.snowjoke.com It's been going around at my school and I saw a hilarious picture of Elissa in the Fuji Q thread....so I made this! http://www.snowjoke.com/viewer.php?id=36042 And check out the TPR Bear! http://www.snowjoke.com/viewer.php?id=36057 Post your snowborder/skiier! LOL!
  14. I bet I recieved my DVD by now....but I assume the package was intercepted, wrapped, and hidden until a specific time. Blast!
  15. ^Dude, thanks! Velvet Revolver kicks ass. I'm going to see if I will be able to get a ticket and go! It will be close because more than likely that's my last week I'm there, so there may be plans involved already.
  16. Was at the local library trying to find a decant film for a friday night....and I happened to stumble across Red Dawn. I kinda laughed to myself because I've heard "RED DAWN AWESOME!" And just thought it was some funny line.... OMG! That movie was sick! Go watch it now! Definitely one of the best movies...of not THE best! Wolverines!!!
  17. Wasn't there an attraction at HHN that dealt with crazy people and the holidays? Any funny parts in there?
  18. B&M: Top Gun:TJC Raptor Vortex (Caro) Mantis Intamin: Maverick Mil.F TTD Wicked Twister I love all rides above. But Intamin takes the cake for adding the awesomeness that are...DROP RIDES!
  19. Scaparri said everyone I was going to say. LOL! MF looks like the biggest POS on the POV. It looks like it will roll back on all the hills! I'd argue Nitro goes faster over them! But that's stupid and pointless! Ginzo said SoB is unique..... Indeed it is... Hmm...is all this Mil.F talk making any less Overrated?
  20. Yup, go on over to Maverick! Sometimes the lines were equal this year, but TTD was finaminal with keeping one of the shortest lines at CP.
  21. Cool! Looks like an updated "Adventure Dome" type of place.
  22. I love Record Breaker Force! I think CP was just going for the most records and tried to add some fun here and there. And they succeded! A fun, record breaking coaster! ginzo; that's why I'm thrilled to have to opportunity to go back next year! And aliston, seeing you are fairly new at posting here, I came in with the same opinion....but MF looks like it won't stand a chance to other Intamin monsters like Goliath, Maverick, Superman, and EGF. I couldn't believe there were other coasters better, but then I realized I hadn't been outside the Midwest
  23. I'll have to say Thunderhead. Maybe not the MOST, but it's deffinately overrated. When I ride it in '05, everyone was claming it to be the best, especially with the GTickets giving it the #1. It was a very fun coaster, but it didn't live up to the hype and give the airtime.... Can't wait for Kentucky Rumbler!
  24. And they announced stuff for 2008! Kennywood Amusement Park Announces Ghostwood Estate New Dark Ride for 2008! West Mifflin, PA – Kennywood began its gift giving on Saturday, December 8, by announcing specifics of its new ride for 2008, a state-of-the-art dark ride named Ghostwood Estate, to attendees at the Great Ohio Coaster Club holiday party in Columbus, Ohio. Though the coaster fans were the first to hear the official announcement, rumors of the ride were already finding a home in cyber space and beyond. The eight room haunted house replaces the Gold Rusher, which was retired this past August. "Ghostwood Estate is clearly an indication of Kennywood's commitment to dark rides," explains Jerome Gibas, Kennywood General Manager. "It combines the newest technology available – a trackless conveyance system with cars programmed and monitored by a computer and includes over 200 interactive targets and numerous CGIs (Computer Generated Images)." Guests will be armed with blasters, developed by LaserStar, Florida. The blasters provide guests the opportunity to compete with others in the vehicle by targeting haunted characters throughout the estate. Each vehicle is also equipped with four individual scoreboards. Designing all haunted effects is Halloween Productions Inc. (HPI) of St. Louis, MO. Kennywood first became accounted with Larry Kirchner, HPI president, in 2001 when it purchased three walk-through Halloween mazes as a base for its now hugely successful Phantom Fright Nights. Jeff Checcio, Director of Maintenance Administration, says of Kirchner, "He's extremely talented and knowledgeable – certainly one of the founding fathers of today's Halloween industries." The $2 million project is expected to be complete for Kennywood's opening in May of 2008. # # # ADDITIONAL INFORMATION See http://gocc.coasternewsnetwork.com for further information about the Great Ohio Coaster Club. Members of the Darkride And Funhouse Enthusiasts (a.k.a. DAFE) have voted Kennywood their favorite Dark Attraction Park for the past six years. DAFE members were invited to a wake and one last ride on the Gold Rusher, a 25 year old dark ride removed from the park at close of the 2007 season. ETF Ride Systems, Holland, created the ride's trackless system. Sensors are located in the floor to guide each vehicle. The blasters are from LaserStar, Florida. Pittsburgh based Design Alliance designed the massive four-sided haunted façade for Ghostwood Estate. ABOUT KENNYWOOD Kennywood first opened in 1898 as a "trolley park" at the end of the Monongahela Street Railway. Today it is family owned and operated by Kennywood Entertainment, western Pennsylvania's largest provider of summer fun. Often regarded as America's finest traditional amusement park, Kennywood is internationally known among thrill seekers and amusement park enthusiasts for its collection of classic rides, state-of-the-art thrill rides, and world-class roller coasters and a wide variety of food, games, gardens, and live entertainment.
