  1. Well hopefully this CF park is buying the right quality of wheels for this ride. I know Busch Gardens treats Apollo better than KI treats Diamondback.
  2. ^I really don't mind the hard micourse. I think it makes for a nice dose of hangtime in the final cork. But man, the first cobra roll and inversion after that is sooo nice. I have a few of the complimentary tickets for Skyflier and Slingshot, yeah both of those are very fun rides. Slingshot is pretty freaky, and on a slow day I think you can re-ride for half price.
  3. Great update Scott, hopefully I'll be able to check out this new addition. Dollywood is such an amazing place. Hopefully you'll make it up to KI! -Zach
  4. Here's a few pics of the Timberliners from yesterday. Front car Can't wait to see 'em run. Details on the front bench.
  5. After Andrew and I rode today, Wildebeest > Cedar Point. Seriously, Wildebeest is absolutely nuts. The raft literally flies off the slide and goes THUNK. But it's so smooth! And yet the airtime is scary crazy good. I'll be driving back down just for more rides on it.. oh, and we rode about 10 times in a row and it was windy, and about 60*. Sooo worth it. Voyage was good, getting rough in some rows though, but hey it's Voyage, and since they probably put all the money that they would have used fixing it up on the Timberliners, it's whatever.
  6. Got there about 6:30 or so. I was wearing a black bandana and a blue t-shirt. You were probably on break, I only saw girls and I think one guy... Thanks for the comments everyone!
  7. Hey TPR! I visited Kings Island last night with a friend, nothing too different from last year besides the Peanuts area. The park is still setting up the Starlight show, I think it's coming in June. It's true, SOB's box is gone, and the ride is pretty much deserted. Besides that, I'd like to let Adventure Express fans know that AE's final lift/tunnel (with the rock solidiers pumping their fists and saying, "Now you will pay.") has been spruced up! The animatronics look like they have been given bright new lights, and the lava bowl actually moves to look like it's being poured on you! I was very impressed with Adventure Express last night. Flight of Fear has on ride photos back. Oh, and the video still plays for those who don't know. If you're going to ride the Beast, don't ride on a wheel seat....it was bad. It was hauling ass, though. Diamondback was providing great airtime as usual, what a great ride! Enjoy the photos, -Zach Not too bad of a zoom from the entrance of KI! The fountains always put on a good show. We'll come back to them later. On over to Drop Tower Arrrggggg Pure free fall Hitting the brakes... First Vekoma of the year! (Believe it or not this is before we rode) Only about a 15 minute wait, so I entertained myself. Yup, it's a Vekoma. This is NOT how you ride a Vekoma! LOL! This IS how you ride a Vekoma. Close your eyes and hope for the best! Details Able to sneak in a picture of Adventure Express AE's station gives a different angle of Diamondback Yup, the lift is quite steep I spy with my little eye....Starlight lights! Obvious that the Racer is the oldest coaster in the park. Hey Chuck, notice anything different here? Inside the hangar... Aliens LOVE to play basketball! Something spooky about Flight of Fear The world's first LIM launch coaster! Still packs a punch. Vortex was looking prettyyyy. Why doesn't this ride get much love? For its age and size, this Arrow looper is pretty darn good. Diamondback through Vortex's supports. Reminds me of Magnum. The batwing is a rare element these days Front seat for forces, back seat for airtime. Speaking of airtime... The dubbed "awkward support" Just an all around fun coaster Getting darker... Sit up right, hold on tight, Diamondback's gonna take you up for a 230ft fright. Turned out to be a beautiful evening, with low crowds. No where to go but up. Yup, it's that big. Nothing short of 230ft. Can't forget about that splash down ending! Pretttyyyyy Simple, but elegant. lol! Lava anyone? A cotton candy color scheme Not photographed often, but the fountains put on a nice display at night. A different shutter speed. And another change Thanks for viewing everyone!
  8. Great stuff! I had a friend there yesterday, and he says the airtime was GREAT. I can't wait to ride this Monday or Tuesday! -Zach
  9. Mr. Freeze's inverted top hat and also the launch up the spike/back down. Titan's HUGE airtime hill. Afterburn/Krypton Coaster's zero g. Diamondback's first drop. Maverick's stengel dives. Mystery Mine's vertical lifts. Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster's secret surprises!
  10. I enjoy a Black and Mild on the occasion, I know, I'm hood. LOL Naw, my friend's a big cigar guy and occasionally he will give me one. Party Source's private selection is pretty good. I'll have to ask to smoke with my Pop sometime, I know he has great taste in cigars.
  11. Seeing Rattler with those trains and the drop not cut off makes me scared! It was an unusual ride, very unique. Too bad it was rough beyond belief. Has anyone seen the track/structure sway from side to side more than this wooden coaster? It's very eerie how much it bends.
  12. KDFansite reports that there are trims on the first drop, and it significantly effects the ride. I'll wait to hear more than one person report, though.
  13. I'm going to be bummed if this thing gets neutered before I get to it. I'm anticipating news.
  14. Gemini. Great airtime, smooth, and you get to slap hands!
  15. Shot-town? Did you mean Chi-town or is this a new nickname I have yet to hear of? Yes, for being a free zoo it was quite nice. I only went into a few houses because our parking limit was only two hours, so we would have had to rush around to see everything, versus leisurely walking to a few different attractions.
  16. Naw it wasn't open yet. I will probably go in August if I go to Lollapolooza. Thanks! ^^Yeah, DePaul looks nice. You can see it from the L train. I actually was on the train with some of their basketball players when I visited. It's close to a lot of different nice restauraunts and clubs. Lucky! -Zach
  17. Hey TPR! I visited my Uncle in Chicago a few weeks ago. I got to visit the Lincoln Park Zoo while I was there. For those of you know don't know, it's FREE! One of the few free, city funded zoos. Pretty cool eh? Here are some pictures I took there, including a merry go round inside. I'll post some city pictures after the zoo. The workers were very informative, sharing lots of stories about the animals, and animal rescues. Very cool! Enjoy! -Zach Lincoln Park, a cool band, and a great place. 1.bmp That's where I'm heading! 2.bmp the Conservatory looked a bit old school. Cubs pride! Let's see the kitty cats first. The king and the queen More cats! Spots, spots, spots Oooo meow! 9.bmp Have you seen Ricky Bobby's car around here? There was a cute monkey with a baby, but she wouldn't turn around to show the baby Lazy day for the howler monkey. Nice lambchops The Thinker. Hey Elissa! Sleepy birds. Someone is unhappy! I'm pinker! ....no I'm pinker! Very pretty. Hey gator fans Dogs get some love too Disney makes these guys look a whole lot better in the movies! Wes, I'm think of you! Almost the same, no? I miss Australia...but not these birds! They start laughing at 6AM Black and Blue Bird. Pretty bird I had to use flash to catch this sucker. He wouldn't stop running around...look at all those colors! Unique patterns Space Mountain Merry Go Round Looked like a nice attraction A very nice entrance/exit. Thanks for the fun, Lincoln Zoo! And here's a preview of what's to come. Thanks for reading!
  18. Doesn't matter, it's all about Giant Drop in Australia that's 420ft tall! Reaches 100mph on the way down. I think it's 330ft.
  19. Titan at SFOT has one GIANT airtime hill. In the front seat it nearly puts the shirt over your head! It's strong, and sustained for quite a few seconds. I loved the hell out of that ride. After riding Diamondback again over the weekend, the front seat was quite impressive, as well as the back. But Voyage...wow.
  20. I don't see how this is creepy like some people are saying...this is pretty neat! For little kids, I think it might change their LIFE if they were able to have a conversation with Mickey. I'd like to!
  21. I don't think they would. One uses an elevator lift, the other uses two chain lifts. One a side note, for those Millennium Force experts out there, which seat do you think is the best? I've been riding toward the middle/front recently, because the back wasn't impressing me as much as it used to. I liked more toward the front because you got a bit more airtime on the hills going to and from the island, versus the backseat which didn't do much for me. Since I'm going next Tuesday, it's Math and Science week, I'm afraid I'm only going to get one ride in. Go for the back? Because I'm going with someone who hasn't been to CP before, so which would be the best seat to ride in?
  22. Went to KI the other day and snapped a few pics. Also met up with TPR member Brandon Noah and had 3 GREAT laps on Diamondback, one on the Racer, and Boo Blasters. Boo Blasters is pretty much the same as Scooby Doo, just replaced with skeletons...a few cool new props added in you should check out. The guns still SUCK. Diamondback! Still running awesome. Still making people nervous! db3.bmp And running with great capacity. db4.bmp Airtime-o-plenty db5.bmp Topping out at 230ft. Come visit!
