  1. Sad news indeed. We've lost another great dreamer at such an early age to this terrible disease. “On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer” - Satoru Iwata
  2. Just placed my order! Now all that's left to do is wait eight weeks. Oh well, it'll be worth it. I look forward to having a blast and seeing everyone there!
  3. Thanks for the great reports and photos everyone! Now for another report from the media day event. Thunderbird is an awesome experience and a great addition to the park, every element has great positive / negative g's behind them which makes for an entertaining ride throughout. The park put on a wonderful event and I can't add much more to that expect to say thanks for the wonderful hospitality, rides and great food... especially the Thunderbird ice cream! Now for just a few photos Opening Ceremonies Shiny new trains! Love the color scheme. The windmill aka the point of no return. The Legend... now with giant invading spiders. Our fearless leader. Hi Robb! Me and my buddy The Voyage... almost. See ya later. One last spin for the road.
  4. I'll be there! Looks likely to be a beautiful day, although a little chilly.
  5. I honestly was speechless when I first read this news at work. I had always heard Will was an incredible kind and caring person, not just as a figure in the amusement park industry but as a human being himself. You honestly have to sit and think it's not everyday you see a person of his stature being as thoughtful as he was in his workplace and not just like a lot of other ceo's sitting back saying "numbers, numbers! Money, Money!" and it's so sad to see a life cut short when I'm sure that he had many more exciting plans for the park, his family and even his life. I got the chance to meet Will last month on Wildebeest's opening day and even then whilst busy he still took time to chat and take a picture with me. I know what has happened is another day in the cycle of time and space but sometimes you wish you could change what has happened as Will was an extraordinary man and one of kind. He will be missed. My thoughts and well wishes go out to his family. RIP, Will Koch, you will always be remembered as one of the greats.
  6. My favorite dark ride has to be the haunted mansion at Knoebels' in Elysburg, PA. It's got a very simple home made feel to it but yet get's the job done. Speaking of small family parks, I really think that Holiday World should build a hanted mansion themed dark ride, espically since they have a Halloween section.
  7. Great Pics and Report! Glad to see the modified raven train is handling voyage's layout well.
  8. Steel: Magnum XL-200 Wood: I used to love the racer's especially backwards, but now I would have to go with Blue Streak at CP... But does Voyage count?
  9. Thanks for the great feedback everyone! Sorry ASAP on the next part of my review turned into WIGATI (whenever I get around to it) lol. But good news! Here we go! So last friday after lunch the clouds cleared and the sun broke through making for a very pleasant afternoon. Front Entrance Shot! and who should I find at the front of the park. The National Geographic crew. Man... Holiday World sure has some great Bean Bag Toss Prizes. and here we have HALLOWEEN!!! My favorite holiday. he Raven, huh?... that's a great photo. he Raven from the parking lot. Scarecrow Scrambler! One of the nicest looking swing rides out there in my opinion. Hello random person that is waving at me. Hope no one loses their head. Now tomorrow night i'm going to post the rest of my pics and finish this review once and for all, lol... and once again thanks to everyone for reading and commenting! G'Night Folks!
  10. At the most one queue deep and when it was running like normal the line was flying. Since the ProSlide guys were there they were having to stop it now and then to work out some kinks and such.
  11. Hey Great Photo's and review!!! I'm glad to see the park looking so vibrant and alive in your photo's unlike mine in my photo TR... lol. It must have been the camera, lol. Anyways... So I got off work around noon today and thought I'd just drive up to park for the afternoon and low and behold around 3:15 CDT when I was getting off my 3rd Voyage ride I see this! It's a brand new used red roller coaster car! All of this could be yours if the price is right! and this!!! Well it's there somewhere... Those bobcat's were moving pretty fast. Where's Waldo's red Voyage train? And then as I was leaving the park about 30mins later I could see them already raising a crane to place the cars on the track. So looks like they'll have this going by the weekend!
  12. Yesterday I drove west out to Holiday World to try out the world's longest water coaster, Wildebeest on it's opening day! First off this is my first Photo TR so please let me know what you think. Also I already learned one lesson. Next time bring an actual camera and not just use my cell phone. Because whenever I zoomed in I forgot that the pics become smaller and I lose quality. Anyways... on with the show! CAUTION: You will get wet on this ride! WILDEBEEST! or at least that's what the sign says anyway. Let's check it out. Entrance shot! Here we go. Take the Tunnels! The Spiral of Death... and or darkness. You choose. End of the line folks. The ride spits you out onto the unloading bay here. Alternate shot of the end of the ride. After you exit the unloading platform the boats then move on this conveyor belt over to the loading platform. Here I am with Will Koch After congratulating him on a great new ride and wishing him another successful season, Will introduced me to Richard Hunter, the president of ProSlide Inc. The manufacturers of wildebeest. They were on sight fine tuning the ride during it's first day of operation for the general public. Mr. Hunter let me know that with the LIM technology that's being used, you would be propelled up each hill much faster than you would on an older water coaster. He seemed a little busy so I didn't want to bother him for a photo. So overall my thoughts on the ride... The second hill is the best, I rode 3 times in the back and each time I flew out of my seat just holding on to the handles to keep me in the boat. But on every hill this thing has extreme airtime! This is the best water coaster I've been on and am sure it will be a big hit for this wonderful park. Check it out ASAP! But i'm not done yet, here's the rest of my day at the park! Hello Voyage! I see you from inside the water park. Scaffolding everywhere! But whats that I see? A 90 degree turn on Voyage! PTC Trains still in use... but not for to much longer. Though the single PTC train operation did have it's set back since a lot of students were at the park. This was the longest line I saw all day. But wait, what's this? Is it closing early to continue testing the timberliner train? We'll have to wait and see. Turkey themed Tilt-A-Whirl Pilgrims Plunge After drying off from Wildebeest I got wet all over again from Pilgrims Plunge. Time for lunch... and luckily enough time for the sun to finally come out! I'm going to pause here but will post the last of my photo's asap. Please let me know what you think so far since this is my first Photo TR and please don't hold back. Criticism can only help one improve. Thanks again for reading!
