Typically Sunday is better. Especially if you get there early. If you visit a park in the bible belt on Sunday, it will be dead till 1pm or so. On Memorial Day weekend, the Sunday thing won't help as much.

They sell prismatic glasses for like $1 a pair, but they are pretty worthless.
