  1. ^ You have to know some secret handshake or something. Your best bet is to probably join one of the Coaster Groups (RCCGB, ACE, ECC). I am pretty sure that all of them are represented in some form there. // "Become the media" - Jello Biafra
  2. Mission:SPACE - 2.5 G's Gravitron - up to 3 G's Rotor - 2.5 G's and f-16 pulling a 90 degree turn at 550 mph - 6.5 G's // yep ... I'm a nerd
  3. Unless you are a member of the media, buyer, or exhibitor then IAAPA really doesn't want you there. They put up with a certain number of people on the Magical Midway because it helps hype the rides. I have been to one IAAPA (2001) and while it was a super cool scene, I think people get the wrong idea about it. I think it costs somewhere around $100 to get a ticket into the exhibitor area. If you are a member of the media, then other arrangements can be made
  4. Shouldn't the question be Vekoma or Arrow? I mean, Vekoma makes the SLC. I would probably pick Arrow (forgiving them for X).
  5. ^ I would guess it is kind of "fair game" since it IS in the avatar gallery. So is my old one, but I don't really know who would want to have an avatar with "vekomafanatic" at the bottom of it.
  6. There is a BIG difference between G's and sustained G's. While a coaster may hit as much as 5 G's it is only for the blink of an eye. Mission:SPACE sustains these forces for a much longer duration. I also never guaranteed anything. I said that I can "almost guarantee" that there was a pre-existing condition. Another Article (An opportunistic Markey rocks the mic): http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2005-06-14-ride-death_x.htm The ride reopens the next day: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-ride15jun15,0,1367378.story?coll=la-home-nation
  7. Have you talked to Larry Baker about this project. My guess is that if you gave him the money he would finally have enough to tear it down. :? I just don't see any real interest from the park in saving it.
  8. ... and of course. Don't forget to log your time. 9. I am not too hot on donating the money to gooddog44@yahoo.com Have you thought of using some sort of escrow service or something. This just doesn't look good.
  10. My guess is that the ride will go back up (if it hasn't already) as soon as the cause of death is determined. I could almost guarantee that it had little to do with the ride. A Gravitron at your local carnival (3 G's) has more force than Mission:SPACE (2.5 G's) and sustains it for a much longer duration. I really despise how the news has hyped it. Most of the articles that I have seen lead into it with stuff like "so intense that many have compained of chest pains". Chest pains are not a sign of motion sickness. They are a sign of panic attacks that were most likely brought on by the very claustrophobic nature of the ride. Mission:SPACE is not a bad ride. These were not bad parents. This kid most likely had something wrong beforehand (although not detected) and all the ride did was act as a catalyst. He may had lived another day, another week, another year, etc. We will never know. All I can think is how I feel sorry for the family in their time of loss. I wouldn't even want to imagine what they are going through at this moment. Ride or no ride.
  11. Kingda Ka // moving to Random Forum
  12. Ask Elissa nicely and it is done Go Here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=179
  13. Yep. Actually estimates range from 150-200 Mil. The attraction was originally supposed to be sponsored by Compaq, but HP inherited it after the companies merged. For those of you who don't know much about "SPACE", this is a great resource http://www.wdwmagic.com/space_pavilion.htm
  14. Six Flags Great Adventure has finally made an offical statement:
  15. I am pretty sure that they checked and he did meet the height requirement. To me, 4 yrs old really seems young for Mission Space. I don't want to speculate too much, because like Shari said, I am guessing that there is a medical condition involved. If not .... bye bye Mission: SPACE. (a new 200 Million Dollar Paperweight)
  16. Domestic Dispute in progress. Nothing to see here.
  17. R & E will be out of town for a little bit, but I am sure he would be happy to answer you when he returns. Try leaving him a PM (Personal Message).
  18. Whoops. Forgot about all the domains. Good Call!
  19. It has been done. Please use the following thread: Poll: Best Theme Park Chain: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1598&highlight=chain If you are going to post a poll with "other" as an option please list all the possibilities. "VS" threads are just flame bait anyway. [closed]
  20. Ouch. Well, I agree with MOST of what Elissa says. Wouldn't be a Six Flags coaster if it wasn't at least partially built over a parking lot. // doesn't want another rocket ... unless it is actually interesting

  22. I searched "Theme Park Videos" and sure enough there is Robb at the top. Just out of curiosity, I checked to see how far I was buried (must admit that I don't really target that term) and sure enough there I am on Page 29. Wait a second ... it is a link to this site.
  23. I did NOT rape Mr. Six.
  24. If they are hot-linking just do this Save the file as ".htaccess" and put it in your video folder
  25. Like DenDen said, you can make anything you want for one person only ... yourself. Parks own The Ride Names The Images The Likeness The Logo The Park Name etc etc
