  1. Except Lev's is a lot longer and I believe to have a much much larger radius last time I looked. I think this will produce a lot more airtime. How good is this ride looking? Wow.
  2. Better shot of my new ride. Also note, this is how you hide your plate without making it look hideous. Also, hate Ohio for making me put that on the front of this gorgeous car. Should have went out of state to buy it so it didnt come with the holes and the flat spot for it. Either way, cloning skillz!
  3. LOL Love that graphic. The rear wing element seemed weird till I remember the CTS-V R. Its interesting to see someone else anchor it from above instead of below. I wonder what kind of advantages that offers...
  4. grrt - I did that till I was 18. Then found one, were together for 7 years, 3 month from getting married, leaves me - find out she was cheating. Move on. Find better girl, get married 2.5 years later. All is well. I used to be pretty depressed in my young teen years because I didn't have anyone. Now I've come to realize it probably saved me from a lot of drama even though I still went through hell and back with my first.
  5. Tilt Shift via software wont really get you that great of an effect. Its something that I see trying to be done a lot in software applications but hard to pull off. See, one thing is that for a Tilt Shift photo to be pulled off, it has to have the right subject, composition and framed properly. You cant just apply that effect to anything. Even if you had a piece of glass that does it, it wont look good in just any application. I think it looks best when overhead or at a 3/4 view to your subject. Youll notice in the link below thats how its typically used. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/11/16/beautiful-examples-of-tilt-shift-photography/
  6. I rather like that...I like how the wing has the same kohler faucet attachments as the Cadillac CTSV R. Unique looking ride, sure itll be a monster for power like usual.
  7. LOL I saw your name as the newest post in here and I KNEW it was about the 5D. That looks extremely impressive. I want to see examples of the 102400 ISO. NVM - looking at examples now. didnt know DPReview already had one. WOW. Seriously, theres literally no noise in 6400. Thats ridiculous.
  8. My facebook had a picture somewhere of an F1 car on the wall sideways as an alternative to pictures. That bookshelf thing is great. I also agree, the Focus RS Hatch does look better. I would expect a lot more from BMW.
  9. This may be one of the most incorrectly exposed coasters go as far as pictures. I cant tell if its a green blue or a blue green on the rails but its so close and such a mixed color that I have a feeling because everyone edits differently well see the rails looking drastically different. Already seen a few on here that made me wonder what the actual color is. Love that new angle!
  10. I have created this element so many times in NoLimits both by hand and with Newton its not even funny. Its just a very organic and flowing element. IMO, a fantastic way to turn a roller coaster around. Really surprised its taken this long for one to be incorporated. I love that you get a helixy portion of the element but also the sensation of diving and picking up speed because of the exit. Shall be a fantastic ride Im sure.
  11. Its a lot like quality over quantity here. Is it better to have a quality experience or not? I must say, I do enjoy my time at parks where I feel like the area I am in gets TLC all the time. Dollywood, Disney, Sea World and USF/IOA to name a few that when I was there, nothing looked neglected and that left a great impression on me. When you notice things in disrepair it really makes you question a lot more than just the little things. Starts to make you wonder if the big things are being neglected too. Perfect timing because I have new camera gear Im itchin to use this year. My old topic dedicated to CP photos will explode once again.
  12. Apparently one is near me...which, well, we dont see many exotics. A friend of mine who is into cars had one park in a parking lot he was in and was like "wtf is this?" and had to google it to figure it out. The grill is definitely questionable. However the rest of the car is pretty nice.
  13. Yikes. Just heard of FK the other weekend. Weird name, interesting cars. Torque is a messy mistress. You can have boatloads of it but applying it to the road is completely another beast. Ive seen a FordGT Twin Turbo that had enough torque to slip on the dyno, ruining their attempts to get a good reading because it had Cobra R tires and not wider, legal slick tires. But that is pretty nuts. I need to watch that episode of TG. All Ive seen are pictures of the FK.

  15. Exactly right on the pixel part. You can only smash so many pixels onto the sensor based on its size before you start to lose IQ. I am anxious to see what Nikon has done to retain quality with 36mp smashed on that sensor. Even for full frame thats A LOT. Also I hear ya on the ISO. I just never have needed more than 1600. However, that might change now that the 7D deals with noise a lot better than my 40D ever could. I suppose if I had a 5D as well I would be saying exactly what you are.
  16. 102,400 FOR AN ISO?!! LOL Hey Bob, what are you shooting at? Im shooting at 25,600. No light out in this cave. Oh? Just 25,600? Noob, Im at 104 billion. Those are crazy numbers. The new cameras this year have had some incredible stats.
  17. Yea so do I. You can see the weirdly banked hill just before this one. I think this section will feel more fluid because it was the only part of the ride where there was this awkward pause in the track design. It worked, but it felt odd. This will flow nicely!
  18. No theres significant difference for the enthusiast. For a common person they wont notice but as soon as the bents went up I saw that they raised the helix up about 5-10ft somewhere in there. Then on top of that the banking was changed and the hill entering the turnaround and the hill exiting (before the outer banked hill) are altered slightly. Its more like...extreme re-tracking. Its following the same overall top-down outline but its definitely changing more than just a re-track.
  19. Nothing super cool but the first pictures from the 7D that also are my 100-400L micro adjusted. It still needs to be tweaked but at least for now, its WAY sharper at 400mm which says a lot because it was already "acceptable" by my standards. I am extremely impressed with the 7D. Once I properly micro-adjust my lenses I feel Ill have that extra little bit of sharpness that sets my shots apart as long as I nail the other parts. JUST realized several of these I did not resize. So if you click them, prepare for pretty huge pictures at very high resolution. The last 3-4 are about 2000 wide. Shake dat booty! The Mandarin
  20. They only put 5k per year? is that normal where you live? In the States, which I know we do a lot of driving, 10-15k is normal per year. 5k per year would be like finding a gold mine. Even if you find a gently used car that has only 8-9k per year its quite nice. Mini's look like a lot of fun. And I see you got a stick.
  21. My parents have a Pinball machine and our 2 cats used to do the same thing. Except it was hilarious when we had a stack of magazines and like every cat is has to be perched up. But then it would slowly slide down till it got to the end then it got freaked out and realized "oh, I slid" and then moved back to the top of the machine. Didnt care much for when I turned it on. Phantom of the Opera wasnt their cup of tea.
  22. Wow. Did not see that coming out of Scion...
  23. Pretty sure it will be anchored on both sides. Similar to this (courtesy of RCDB again) - According to the NL Video - which I will assume is very accurate since I know the team pretty well and I know they dont usually do work without - actual renders or CAD - and it only has the bar attaching to one side, much like Pilgrims Plunge but looks to be a larger diameter tube and Im sure the hydraulics will be stronger.
