  1. Posted on the Holiday World Facebook....pure sex That is the new revamped exit of the long turn, which gives us more airtime and then a smoother transition into the oddly banked hill which isnt as banked but still retains that movement from left to right.
  2. Went after the frogs at the zoo today. The rest of them were not visible or in terrible positions.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFLjk88HBwg Lotus is thinking - JUST GOTTA GET THROUGH THERE Lotus point of view:
  4. Ive been keeping my eye on that lens. Its pricey but DAYUM the quality is incredible. Simply incredible. But I agree. Its like there was no winter because I was at the Toledo Botanical Gardens and I swear I saw plants that still had fall leaves and such. Pretty strange. Just glad I dont have to drive my car in snow anymore...Summer Performance tires in snow = absolutely no traction. Which reminds me, I need to find a good spot to take some hot car photos...
  5. Tis the season. Lots of color out there to be captured. Id love to see the 5:1 Macro lens on that Mark 3. I forget the model name, but the one used mostly for insects. Would love to see what kind of detail that thing would pull.
  6. Beauties. That will probably be the camera I somehow find a way to add to the collection once the 40D has run its course. Havent gotten much inspiration lately. Ive just been wanting to take my Scooby out, drive it really hard but gas prices and not fully broken it in yet keep me from doing that. I also want race season to start so I can run to autocross events and make my way down south to Mid Ohio. Larger version - click on for more detail
  7. So far, everything looks like it just takes Montu and says "Sorry bro. whatever you can do, I can do better" Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL looking ride. I am jelly that I am not closer.
  8. I wonder if the sag is just from trains sitting on them over time?
  9. Assuming you grew up in Florida by that comment?? lol. Most, if not all the lightning that night was upper atmosphere, very few if any were reaching down. Plus, it was several miles to my east - moving east - but I know and respect what you just said. Its all truth. It can reach beyond a storm and if you happen be where it chooses, have fun. It was something like...400-500 frames? Its only 15 or so minutes of footage. I think I shot like every 5 seconds. I will say, I was sitting on a concrete porch about 2feet from a door when I took that. The camera I setup about 5ft away and I sat back on the porch. There are plenty of other things it would go for before me (multiple light poles, the apartment itself with rods on top, camera (though Id be pissed)). I can get you more exact numbers when I get home. All images were the same length, aperture and time apart. Though Ive already refined the process a little after doing a little more research. We have more possible thunderstorms moving in tonight/tomorrow so maybe Ill have a chance to do some more timelapse. Its rather fun!
  10. Had my wife not shown up with food, I would have easily sat there for about an hour. The light show did not stop. It lasted for several hours since the nasty part was to our east but the back end trailed right by our place giving us that incredible light show. No thunder either. However earlier in the day the storms hit where I worked and a few blasts shook our building which was a bit interesting. Either way, looking forward to putting thousands more clicks on the shutter doing this. Which is the only negative, means Ill have to replace that sooner but I can see myself doing more of this. Already scouting great sunrise/sunset locations. Toledo has some beautiful places, they just arent easy to find.
  11. Nothing is off the table when it comes to car beauty. Foreign, domestic, concept, etc. I also couple the mechanical side into the beauty as well. A car like the Bugatti Veyron is an absolute mechincal masterpiece and the beauty in that is the same to me as the curves on a Shelby Cobra or the original Dodge Viper. When it comes to performance, I typically lean european or japanese. They know how to make a car turn. Many of the most beautiful designs have come from American designers for my taste. However to me there isnt quite anything like when performance meets design beauty. It takes a truely special team to design a car thats both beautiful/stunning yet has the pedigree and performance to match. Old cars cant be compared. You have to compare to cars within that era if you match performance and styling. But some styles are pretty timeless, the Bel Air is one of them.
  12. In defense, its not always the steepness itself but how fast you get to that steepness. The trains look like decent length and the drop looks like it gets to maximum angle rather quickly. Should provide a nice solid punch of airtime. But nothing real sustained since the radius isnt very round. I think itll thrill a thrillseeker and families alike.
  13. So its basically a larger version of the same thing thats at Kalahari Indoor Waterpark thats like 10minutes away...lol. I second Banshee. I need another collectible postcard.
  14. Watch in HD. First attempt at some timelapse. Taken on the back end of a pretty intense storm this past night.
  15. Hmmm. Coming from a Caps fan who also has one of the most hyped players in the league...Both are exceptional players. I believe Crosby has a Stanley Cup right? Ovechkin doesn't? I don't follow hockey except for when its playoff time and even then I watch from a distance. I have one close friend who is a hockey fiend so I do get my hockey knowledge from a life long fan. But I have a feeling your opinion of Crosby has a lot to do with your own star player who cant lead you guys to a Cup... He may not be the best in the world but hes led his team to good old Stanley and Alex hasnt. Alex is starting to turn into a Dan Marino...best player in his sport to never win a championship. I also have that feeling because my friend is a die hard Wings fan (though has a few other teams he likes as well) and he hates Crosby as well. Though he hates him for other reasons.
  16. Thank you. The brake run is collossal. Know about Leviathan if youre going to talk about it. I know theres a ton of info here on TPR.
  17. Something about the red green and blue in large quantities kinda is too busy for me from a color standpoint. You guys are headed in the direction I was going and I guess thats the only reason Im not a huge fan of a public show, because your ideas can definitely be taken from you. And considering a prize is involved, makes it a little...strange. Either way, think tonight Ill start work on some concepts. Got 11 days anyways.
  18. Dude...the WRX is hot...I REALLY like that. Ya know, that relocation doesnt look half bad. I think I may do that and put the WRX plate over the old holes. That looks way better than I imagined.
  19. As far as I know, every Impreza has that, no matter which state you purchase it. You can't just buy a new bumper without that part, unless you buy an aftermarket bumper or body kit...but then you're paying in the thousands and have to deal with fitment issues, drilling, stretching, painting/color-matching, etc. You could always buy a Grimmspeed relocation kit if you think it looks better on the side. There are also many companies that sell plate badges to give that area a more 'clean' look. I havent looked into this...so my initial reaction is basically summed up with this: Eh, whatever. I wont really do anything then. I like the stock body kit on it, actually, I love it. Its gorgeous. Wont change it unless I smash it up which better not happen. Guess I would do the plate badge if anything. That does look pretty cool and clean. But thats depressing they make all of them that way. Was hoping to cheat the system, ha.
  20. I think if it ever bothers me enough Ill order a new bumper that doesnt have the spot for the plate and that way, at least in Ohio, they dont bother you to much if your car doesnt have a spot for it. But still, I have known people who they still pull over, badger them about it and tell them to mount it in some fashion.
  21. Exactly. I contacted Cedar Point about what I can and cant do with images I take - but since their rides are their property in several ways (especially ones that are iconic) basically anything that could identify it easily immediately renders it useless to make money with legally. Making posters even without a logo is basically not allowed. If you cant pick it out, then that could be ok. But otherwise, I dont see that being the smartest of moves especially since TPR - while having relationships with several parks - they still need to honor those "properties". Plus, I know at the bottom of the page is explicitly talks about not being associated with the said parks. Using an iconic image such as Dragster or Millennium Force would be a correlation to Cedar Point and its identity.
  22. Taking notes...looks like you know what you dont want, thats for sure. Time to crank the Photoshop up.
  23. Yea, saw those. It looks like an incredible piece of hardware. If I wasnt so tied up on sports/long range stuff I would look into it. Maybe one day if I get into doing non-sports Ill keep my 7D and grab one of these used or something. The results are just so freakin impressive.
