Then you obviously haven't gone on enough peek summer days; trust me when I say that it can get PACKED in that park between late July and mid-August. Whatever peak is, I know I've been there. All major holidays? Check. Weekends? Check. None of them compare to the amount of cars I've seen during Halloweekends. When you factor out Soak City, its pretty clear. On a Saturday CP in summer its just the normal rides. I've been there with all the major rides hovering between 1-2 hours (excluding the nonsense of opening days for TTD, MF where the lines reached 3-4hrs) and even rides like Corkscrew and Magnum which on regular days barely pull 20-30min. If Magnum isn't 15min I'm surprised. Then when Halloweekend Saturday is all the same rides at 30+min and major rides at 1-2.5hrs and THEN you add in what, 4 haunted houses and all of those have another hour wait - not only are there enough people to have the same waits as mid summer but now you've added 4-6 more attractions that you walk through and its another hour wait for each? Statistically I know you can find a few days a year during summer where "maybe" the main park (again...SC excluded here) has higher numbers. But I think on average Halloweekend Saturdays are by far the busiest in the park. I feel like going there is a waste of an entire day the lines are so outrageous. So either its just more packed on those days during the event OR the crews suck badly. Because if I take out Soak City, I'm adding 4 attractions you need to wait for (not to mention a few mazes that aren't part of the normal walk-ways that are occupying people) that are holding enough people to generate a 1+hr line. It just doesn't add up. Not saying there arent days during summer, I just think they are a lot more rare. -

Been goin for over 10 years, never seen the parking lot that full. Ive also never seen people "streaming" in at 6pm. I was an hour late for the concert by 6... But I know Saturdays for Halloweekends are the worst. No day during summer even compares. -
Just looks like chrome flames and then its mimic'd up the neck.

Yea, I hadnt realized the old drummer retired. She almost could be her daughter, they have similar features and hair style/color. I just kept thinking "She looks WAY younger" Then got on my phone and confirmed that. Definitely a pretty girl but very, VERY talented. Great voice too.

Last night Cedar Point held PointFest with Manic Drive, Disciple, TobyMac and Skillet. My dad started like CRAP. First, my wife's work/school wouldnt let her out even a minute early. Which was ridiculous because she was done 15min early. Second, when we ran to the car, the battery was dead. Giant middle finger to my plans. So, got it jumped and sulked for awhile. I really wanted to hear Manic Drive and Disciple. Been years since I have seen them live. Well, upon arrival, I had missed 90% of Disciples set as well. Suck. But I knew from previous experience TobyMac and Skillet not only sound just as good in concert as they do recorded but its high energy, really awesome performances. That was an understatement. TobyMac was just as good as I expected and even sang some really old songs from a band he was in (dcTalk). That was really cool since that band broke up a long time ago. Skillet? HOLY. They have really come a long way and put on one amazing show. John is always awesome but his wife has stepped her game and aside from playing 523 instruments (which she did in 2006 when I saw her, PREGNANT) she plays them while being completely spastic on stage. Its wonderful to watch. Im also a sucked for string instruments and the electric cello and violin were music to my ears. They now rock with a pretty good pyro set, moving platforms and their new drummer, Jen Ledger, shes pretty awesome for a 21 yr old female drummer. Wait, shes REALLY AWESOME. My wife just kept saying "Wow. Shes intense" Anyways, I didnt have the Gold or Platinum tickets so I wasnt near the stage but my long lens more than makes up for that. Gallery: https://picasaweb.google.com/107203122441051099654/PointFest Finger tapping and playing keys at the same time. She is a baws.

Was there last night for PointFest and WTFOMG that was the most FULL Ive ever seen the parking lots. Yes, the Soak City lot was roped off due to the concert but typically when I park back there its 1/4th full anyways. Let me paint a picture: The lot on the left, for overspill - full. The main lot - people were parked sideways along the very back!!!! And at 6pm people were still pouring in. Ive never seen this at any time during the summer weekends/holidays in all my years. As I said above, avoid Saturdays like the plague. Raptor had a 1+hr line and I didn't even look at the other big ones as I was already an hour late for the concert but holy crap. It just gets more and more crazy every year. -

From all my years of going during this time of year (and that would be a lot - I may only go 2-3 times between June and August. While I go 5-10 in may and every fri or sundays in Halloweekends) and Fridays and Sundays are typically dead by CP standards. However... Saturdays, especially the nice, sunny ones like this one coming up (70 degrees...) have the LONGEST LINES EVER. I have not been to the park on any summer day yet to compare to the several Saturday Halloweekends Ive seen. Halloween is just a really big holiday now and people love the atmosphere. So much so, that Ive seen the big 3 rides have 2hr waits PLUS each of the haunted houses the lines were coming out the queues. I am not sure how they fit that many more people in the park since all those haunted houses with lines can hold a ton more people and all the normal rides are still open (minus water rides but really...those dont hold that many) or maybe its just people car pool more for an event like Halloweekends. Whatever the case, I stay away from Saturdays like the plague if I want to ride. Fridays and Sundays are money. -
Thanks! That Ferris wheel shot is GOLD! Love the perspective, position of the sun and the sharpness.
-
I didnt actually tilt it. Look at the railing. It was just the path of the ride. Which is why I love time lapse so much. Such randomness.

And using Thunder Dolphin, thats different.

Few pictures first from the Fulton County Fair then some Toledo Zoo shots

Whats with the blurring out of the trains? OR was that a line of people? Really strange. More strange than the ride itself. Good pics though. -

Even that recreation looks really bad. Shaping is all over the place, pacing looks way off as well. I wouldnt buy into any recreations in NL unless done by something who I could consider a respected designer. None of the ones Ive seen seem to reproduce even a realistic pacing and feel. -

If you look at WS's website, they havent worked with B&M since Nemesis Inferno. -
I really like the first few. Ill have to try that with my macro since the bokeh is so pleasing on it. Not every lens produces good bokeh unfortunately...

Had some wild storms roll through the other night...got out into the wind and sprinkles for some lightning shots.

Yea but even if they power washed it and painted it, Id give it a month(that's generous) before its back to being black.
