  1. WT's colors can fade and still look good. But TTD...LMAO. If you look at Dragsters yellow crossbeams on the tower, the ones that run parallel to the ground, its hilarious. the bottoms are still SUPER BRIGHT yellow. The top? Not so bright. Actually, about the palest yellow you can find.
  2. Oh, that Zero G sure does produce Zero G's. The shape of the parabola is VERY similar to the last few rides like this. Only difference is the exit to the roll moves laterally.
  3. Apart from the fact that France is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe... As it is, this does look superb and I cannot wait to get on this thing next season! Im sure he meant pile of awesome...
  4. 4th of July - Toledo, Ohio (Those were not Toledo's Fireworks, those were my old hometown of Oregon, a suburb) Random Maxair shot Random Dragster panning shot Yes, we see you up there 300ft in the air, stuck on Windseeker Finally moving Thought this was cool I have 2 ideas that Ive not seen done very much. Not entirely original but I hope to get up there this week to do some test runs. If it turns out like I want it too, it should be pretty freakin cool.
  5. Come on Robb, you posted this knowing the answer already...lol I will say I bet we will see some really crafty "comparison" work being done. I cannot off the top of my head even think of 1 that's remotely close. Look at Holiday World. 3 wooden coasters, all VASTLY different ride experiences. So much so, it separates GP and Enthusiasts alike into heated discussions about which is better. But Im drawing a blank. The GL thing - its like the HW thing I just wrote about. 2 similar ride types, but two vastly different ride experiences (loops vs corkscrews)
  6. I'm not calling them idiots, just unknowing on this subject. They don't analyze rides to the level we do. The majority just go to the park, ride the rides, eat some funnel cake and go home happy. I've showed several local non-enthusiasts friends of mine Raptor (CP) and, without fail, the first thing they say is "Oh, that's like Top Gun (CW SLC)." Remember, this is the Toronto area GP. I have no doubt that the Ohio, SoCal and Florida GP, who are a stone's throw from 3 or 4 major parks, are more educated in the coaster realm. Weird because Ive had the opposite experience. But even if they "thought" it was the same thing, they would STILL go to the park, ride it and be like OMFG thats not the same. Your point doesnt include the fact that new rides still draw people in, especially locals who probably make it at least once a year trip. So while from a video it may look the same, they arent going to not go just because of that. Its a new ride, people go to ride new rides.
  7. Heres how I can sum up this ride. I looked at the layout first, studied it, memorized it for the most part. Went to the video, watched the POV. When it hit the brakes and the screen faded to black I thought "wait, is there a MCB and they just cut the video there?" So I went to the other video and then realized it was the brakes. This tells me something rather important: The ride is really so status-quo and dis-interesting that I was still waiting for something to grab me. Some unique element. Maybe a set of hills that was different. Maybe even a complex of turns. Anything. But nothing really did. I couldn't even tell you the layout again after watching the POV and I memorize things very quickly. But this was just so much of the same. That is, to me, what explains my disappointment. Its not like when I watch POV's of other newer, better rides where element stick out and I am replaying those elements over and over to see how its going to feel or watching construction (Like Parc Asterix's Invert) and thinking "DANG that's gonna be a great ride". This is just...vanilla. So much so, it fooled me into thinking the ride was longer even after I looked at its layout. How sad is that?
  8. ^^^You guys analyze and dumb down the GP way too much. They aren't that stupid and they wouldn't think a B&M flyer is the same as Tomb Raider. Its not like they are a bunch of idiots, they can tell differences between 2 things. Cool ride brah. Just...the experience seems way too close to Behemoth and actually, Behemoth looks a lot better.
  9. But it has some cool elements in it. That barrel roll thing is REALLY weird and hanging out over the sides of the track, while its a floorless, isn't the same as a floorless. This is Behemoth 1.2. Not even 1.5. No new elements. I think a shorter ride time. Ill also throw some money down - less airtime. Hills look like a much wider radius despite using the older, shorter trains which would give you an option for tighter radius hills since the G's from back to front wouldn't be so extreme like they could with the "new" ones. So despite the speed, I see no real opportunities for really great (probably still good) airtime. I just don't see it. Cool ride? Sure. Its a B&M. But here, next to Behemoth and only 306ft tall? This an intentional bid by CF to never, ever topple over MF as tallest traditional lift hill coaster? I don't get the logic, doubt I will. Seems like politics mixed with lunacy. Wait, don't those go hand in hand? lol. Using the older, shorter trains more or less cuts down on the G's and with the huge hills, I really dont see any OMFG or any ejector. I will wager that Behemoth, Diamondback and lets even say Goliath SFOG have better hills. This is just a speed machine and in that it shares its main similarity with MF. But MF is really quite Meh because the 2 "airtime hills" have never given me any real airtime to write home about after a few hundred rides. Hopefully this is a lot better but I have a feeling if I make it up there next year, Behemoth is a huge winner.
  10. One thing to say. Thats it?
  11. LOL That is all. Nice failure.
  12. Wow that was terribly created. wow.
  13. Original image of Will Power expressing his dissatisfaction for the league officials... Few Photoshops by random people:
  14. Canon 40D 28-135mm IS (Kit lens) 100mm 2.8f macro 100-400mm f4.5/5.6 L Looking to get another L, probably to replace the 28-135 or sell my 100mm macro for the L version of the same thing.
  15. Just find the guy who goes by FPSRussia on youtube and shack up with him. Pretty sure youll be safe for awhile, who knows, you might even win.
  16. Pics from my weekend watching the F2000, American LeMans Series and IndyCar (No IC pics yet)
  17. Judging by the nose cone and the rest of what I can see, looks like the Concorde!
  18. Should be same as yours. My sensor is just sharper and 2mp higher than that 20D. I crop to fit the finished product so sometimes its non-standard.
  19. Thats a good buy!!! Someone was basically giving that thing away. Geez.
  20. LOL I think I read that the 2012 isnt a coaster? go back a few pages. Apparently at Holiwood nights it was said its not a coaster and they took a poll and an online survey about what type of steel coaster to add in the future. Since they just asked about a steel coaster this year, theres no way itll be installed for next year. Needs longer to plan out. Still, 9mil is a hefty investment. And it makes me LOL that whatever it is, it costs more than the epic monster known as Voyage.
  21. http://www.heraldtimesonline.com/stories/2011/08/01/statenews.qp-1997090.sto 9million on 1 ride? I like the smell of that.
  22. I loved Cars 2. But I also absolutely love cars and I even more love road racing. So there were so many awesome cameo's that it just made the movie for it. It was a little odd (sorta like Cars meet James Bond feel) but other than that, Lewis Hamilton, Jeff Gordon and the other huge list of cameo's made it awesome. One of my fave parts of the first is when Schumi comes to Guido and Luigi's tire shop and they both pass out. SO awesome.
  23. So, seriously, how bad ass are the Timberliners? Each time I imagine them on larger scale projects like Voyage and start drooling over the effectiveness they seem to have. I only got to sit in one stationary and even then, the comfort level was "woah".
