  1. Is that all it pulls? It felt more like 2 or 3. Geez, I need to find something that pushes me to my limits. I even looked around in the cabin during take off and other points in the ride, even to the sides. No dizziness, no drama. Its easy to do when you know you are swirling around. Quite frankly, theres nothing that ever imersses me in a ride so much I forget where I am. I always am aware its all a ride, all a facade. While I LOVE detail, like TOT WDW where I would sit down and look around if I could, I still know its skin deep. With that being said, I love the fact that I can see the MASSIVE arms of the centrifuge on Mission:Space. That was and is so impressive. Those things are Ginormous. I still love it though. Im entertained by it. While i always know its all a show, I never do anything to take away from the show, like letting things detract from the exprience (like seeing part of the ride...oh no!)
  2. Except certain footage from a certain park while on the rides :\ Which i know the reason, but eh, nothing you can do.
  3. Its a small world, no contest. Why? repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition... repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition...repetition... Yea, you get my drift...you get my drift.
  4. Kanonen does look alot better, however, RITA from that video looks far from "tame". It hauls some serious butt around those turns and especially over those hills.
  5. I find that depending upon seat, you can get hangtime in the loops on Hulk + the MCB drop. Id lean towards Hulk, I get a bit more "ride time" for my waittime. However, Mummy is far more intense, even if it seemed like it was 10 seconds long.
  6. On the contrary, I thought Raging Bull was the biggest disappointment Ive ever been on and Nitro is one of the best. Depends on your angle I suppose. As for this ride, lookin really fine, especially for a Beemer.
  7. Best show on television, period.
  8. I disagree. they have alot of users because of the exposure they give off, even though I find it negative. Which is why I dont know anyone who visits there that isnt disgusted within a week at the antics. This sites going to keep growing. I think the "Alvey" name is a bit more widely known, and for far more good than bad.
  9. They pulled components because no other system compares in the power and range of design. I havent seen a PS2 game yet to compare with most of the XBox games out there. PS1 caught on because they were the first ones to do what they did, WELL. Which is a huge deal in this market. There were other cd systems, but none of them faired very well. PS2 graphics just are almost too bad for me to play on. My N64 had smoother graphics and Ill tell ya, I think I enjoyed more N64 games than I have PS games. I dont think it was a bad decision at all to pull from other manufacturers. Its a bit more costly, but I dont think MS could make products well enough to compete. MAybe they realized that too? I dont wish to sound like a PS hater. I understand your point totally since I know a few japanese game nuts as well. Obviously your only real choice is PS, which theyve got that market entirely cornered. But I just couldnt get into any of the PS games. I havent found a controller yet thats big enough for me not to smash 2 buttons at once (and they seem to only get smaller) and even GT4 to me is nothign more than a makeover of an already good series. Not great, but good. Ive been racing simulation games for 15 years, going way back to Papyrus's Indy Car Racing 2 I think was my first, that and Nascar by the same group. No console has been able to tap into that yet and when I compare GT to PGR, PGR wins hands down in fun factor. But I dont want to turn this into a console bashing thread. XBox suits the types of games I like. Ive got no pre-existing opinions with any other system since I played most of them before XBox, but the games on there were more fun than the others. Most PS2 people play japanese games, role playing games or sports. Even though Ive found the XBox sports games to be just as good if not better now.
  10. Obviously, but its stupid when I hear people compare the PS2 to XBox. PS took awhile to catch on too, i remember. I remember when it only had a small selection of games too. Its going to take some time but I definatly think that XBox has caught on maybe even better than Gamecube. That and GT4 just came out so Im assuming sales spiked on its behalf. Hopefully this Forza Motorsports which is coming out for Xbox in May (hopefully) will compete. Ive never liked PS much, only for Gran Turismo 2. 3 wasnt that great and Id probably only get a PS for GT4 even though Im fairly certain Forza will be better. I like Gotham better than GT anyways and its a touch less realistic.
  11. I also never once said that the Windows OS had less holes...I infact, am quite aware of its serious lack of protection. But there are ways around it, for those who dnt care to do a few extra steps. I think your response a little fast too. I would agree that most games made on mac make money because the community is smaller and tighter. Because of this, not that its because people buy every mac game they can because theres a lack of games, but because most Mac games that are ported are already established on Windows and the Mac gamers cant wait to get their hands on it. However, when you do have a more centralized core of OS users and a smaller game base, its obvious that the percentages will go up. You wont sell as many units, but youll sell more percentage wise per user of that OS. So yea, its kind of like if theres 10 mac users and 9 of them buy a game. Thats 90%. But for Windows, lets say theres 1,000 users and 500 buy it. Thats only 50% but 441 more units sold. Which, in the PC game market, might not fare so well. Ive got nothing against the macs. I wish they had more prominance and I wouldnt have to hear people get on their soap boxes to defend it. I dont mean to say that at you, because I understand you defending it, but I wish more people would educate themselves on both systems. I owned a Mac awhile ago and while it was ok, I just couldnt get into the OS as much as Windows. But I wont take away from what is a very stable and safe system, thats for sure. EDIT: About the GameCube XBox thing...Gamecube IMO isnt growing that much. XBox is. 5-6 weeks after Halo 2 came out, I STILL couldnt get an Xbox or Halo2 anywhere. I actually got an XBox at my local Walmart, one of the only places in town to have one. The system is gaining hugely on the PS. I think too once the next generation of XBox comes out, well definately see the boom start.
  12. Since I switched to FireFox, I havent had a peice of spyware/malware on my computer. Nor have I contracted any viruses. Obviously IE is flawed. If there were as many Mac users out there as there are windows, you can bet that people would be hacking the mac software and developing stuff for it too. But why spend time making malware to affect a small portion of the population when you can spend the same time making something that affects most of the population? Same goes for the production of games. If you want (or need) to make money, you are going to tap into the larger market.
  13. http://www.snopes.com/language/apocryph/cambridge.asp Im pretty sure that the college didnt come up with it, but I would bet someone screwing around did. If it was a study that was done by any college or professor(s), youd most likly find documentation on it. Reguardless, it is true, almost completely, the whole thing with the brain being able to compute the mixed up letters. The only problem is you need to know the words already in order to unscramble them in your head. If you gave this to a grade schooler they may not have any freakin clue.
  14. Ill see if I can get there (though I prefer Blizzard Beach more) this April. Still up in the air but my girlfriend is a college castmember right now. Unfortunatly, because shes an Advanced Intern, she only gets into parks for free. Water Parks dont count (theres a bunch of other rip offs too...Disney lost a few points with me there)
  15. Hence: Real Uber Designer Joined: 15 Feb 2005 Total posts: 74 Location: Oh-Hi-Oh Age: 21 Gender: Male Thanks guys. I wouldnt consider myself to be the best, but I do know Im one of the better designers out there. Not without alot of determination however. Im one of those crazy perfectionists that when gets their mind set to something, wont stop till its perfect. If you want to see a list of projects I am working on, go to http://nldc.interfix.net/u33 Be sure to read the status of each ride before asking any questions.
  16. Oooo, a thread destined to turn into a bashing thread. I love it! /end sarcasm. Personally, I love the ride. Even if the launch is NOT as forceful G for G, its one of the longest and most powerful in that respect. I love speed and frankly MF is the only ride that can truely deliver that but only in the front seat. I can get on front seat dragster in under the time it takes for MF. Xcelerator looks great, I love that tophat. But overbanks are to me what are boring. Especially after that tophat and launch, its got to be a somewhat blah ending to a ride that started out rather intensly. Storm Runner, I think most of us knows it owns
  17. Dude, its the butterfly coaster!! Coin Op Ride.
  18. BGT sucked IMO. The rides were far superior, but I see tons of animals when Im there. Ive seen most every animal on the safari. Twice now Ive seen the Tigers out playing like little kittens, which is sweet. Nothing like 2 grown big cats going at each other. Howler monkeys have been out. I think the difference is that at AK, the animals have their own habitats. They can get away from the public if they want too. BGT felt more like a zoo, their habitat was half the size and thus the animals had half the room to move in. They seemed rather confined. At any rate, I love Dinosaur and Primevil Whirl. Along with the parks atmosphere. Its ridiculously photogenic.
  19. Yup, you needed to download the NoLimits Packager which can be found (along with other tools) at www.gravimetricstudios.com
  20. Rogue Wave ======================================== February ThrillNetwork Contest Entry -DO NOT forget to unzip the enviro to the enviro folder and select it in the game. Just some tree adjustments and fog (light). I started thie RIGHT at the time it was announced. I slacked, debated several weeks over the design. I even scrapped this one and started another one with days left, only to ditch that and come back to this. Its fully tunnel tested, pulls G's up to the max (vertically) and stays under +-1 lateral, but only hits 1.0 once and 0.8 a couple of times. Im MUCH more proud of this track than my January entry that I botched up the upload with. I did the supports in about a day but the track was deliberated over for a month. Its still not what Id call done, but its definatly worth uploading. Just minor twitches in the track that would take weeks to get out. Enjoy Rogue Wave! -Thanks go to Talonman for testing and putting up with my ranting -Thanks to RiscIt, I borrowed his Second Wind enviro but made some adjustments. So the template was his.[/img] Rogue Wave CC.zip Heres the file...
  21. Thanks, fixed it. BTW the "No Step" picture I saw on your site, I laughed my butt off when I saw that. The hand in the picture just sets the tone completely.
  22. I forgot to post this one... VERY large panorama. Took my 9 shots to encompass the dang thing. http://www.real-coasters.com/tripreport/MIA/images/pages/shiveringtimberspano.html
  23. I practice no religion, I practice a relationship with God. I am a christian, spiritual, but not religous Oh and btw, those who are athiest, the very nature of being an athiest is contradictoral by nature. In order to deny something you have to first accept its existance. Because if there was nothing to begin with, what is there to deny or NOT believe in? Agnostic is the better term for most of you.
  24. Heres the rest: Most all of these I can get in uber high res for anyone if they wish. Maybe the yummiest time lapse of them all. More yummy Time lapse. Yet more adventures... More offseason adventures... MMmmm. I love time lapse.
