  1. Now THAT certainly looks extremely painful. I wonder if I would spend as much time perfecting the track as I do for NoLimits... hehe, yes, I bet I would
  2. Shivering Timbers + back seat + about a 4 click ride...safe, but terrifying that first time. AMAZING airtime, standing up on almost every hill, was simply mindblowing. Next to that goes Cornball...buzzbars and CCI, mmmm. Magnum can be great if you get room in your bar + you dont get trimmed. Coming home is airtime bonanza. BTW I know about the Raptor, right side back seat, thats wonderful airtime.
  3. Hopefully if I get promoted here soon I can afford one of these. Always wanted one, reguardless of the scale/speed thing. Its just too cool.
  4. SM is mildly popular. SM2 is in the works and looks very promising. I have it and have some really good rides Ive designed but I find the overall building to be harder than NL. But thats debating upon who you talk too. It is easier to build an ok ride, but, to build a really good ride takes alot of time and skill, more so than in NL. Its just because of the nature of the editor.
  5. ^^Talk about uber detailness!!

Man, now I want one of those! Grrr...
  7. That is probably though due to this recent push to make rides "safer". We know the truth, we know the human body can tolerate way more than even some of the most intense rides push, and safely at that. But it does seem like they are curving along the way of "crowd/family pleasing" rides instead of the extreme rides. That would be my guess however. They just dont want to get in trouble incase anything happens. Which is sad because most all of us know that majority of accidents on a ride built these days by one of the major manufacturers isnt a problem of them, but normally of the workers operating the ride. And even if you factor in the people who die of brain anurisms and such, those are freak anomolies and thats the risk you take riding coasters. Things happen. Yes though, if thats the statement you got I would think its been from this extreme press from the governments about safety safety safety and keeping G levels down. Which is nonsense. Some of the most intense rides in the world probably have some of the best safety records (depending upon the park, heh). Oh well, I better stop before I start really venting.
  8. I really doubt its B&M to blame. Obviously some intense B&M's exist, so we know they are capable. But it seems like lately alot of the parks installing them are not intending for them to be intense rides. They are trying to appeal to all of the masses, not just the enthusiasts.
  9. Forceless or NOT, its GOING to have fast rotations. To me, thats what really makes or breaks some B&M's is the speed of rotation. And btw, you can have fast rotations without alot of force. But Im lovin Hydra, it looks like a very cool ride. So far on my recreation (which is comin along pretty close to spec, almost scary how close) its not going to be a super G ride but its not going to be boring either. The Straight drop looks great and so does the twisted cobra. Anthony "Doesnt have to pull a bajilion G's to be fun" Harrison
  10. Obviously you havent seen their latest rides, VERY smooth.
  11. Dragons, especially fire, is definatly a *WOW* catch breath *WOW* catch breath ride. I was almost overwhelmed by the shear G's on Fire. So much so, Ive never been on a ride to date that has pushed my arms down from being up, but Fire managed to start pushing them down in the helix and loop. Those loops are just SO small for the speed, but OH so good. SB does look like it meanders, but still looks fun. However, I think you are correct in saying its more of a family ride. I think thats actually what Knotts wanted. Kumba is hella intense, the only problem is its TOO intense. I would have liked to have actually floated in the Zero G, but instead I got whipped through. All the othre elements I loved that power, but the Zero G is supposed to be that, Zero G. Instead, its like a BTR Zero G roll that I have dubbed the "Speed Roll", theres very little Zero about it. They can build em like those you mentioned Robb, it just takes the right park willing to tell them to push it to the edge.
  12. Im going down (I hope) in April and Im going to get me a sealable bottle and try to snag some back to let friends taste. Aside from it being satans water, the best word Ive come across is VILE. Its simply putrid.
  13. Steel: 1. Dueling Dragons Fire : Most intense Beemer Ive been on. 2. Nitro : Great airtime, love da floating 3. Dominator : Like someone else, said, fell in love with the unique design 4. Kumba : freakin sweet ride, especially for being so old 5. Tie: Raptor/Dragster - Both rides I love, but for seperate reasons Wood: 1. Shivering Timbers - No contest for airtime, amazing 2. Cornball Express - CCI + Buzzbars = heaven 3. Thunderhead - Relentless speed, G's in all directions and with force 4. LoCoSuMo - yes, I know its a wooden mouse ride, thats why it owns! 5. Viper - mmm, double down and headchoppers
  14. Buzz, Buzz, Buzz lightyears going to own you!! That is really cool. Why dont I read before I ask questions that are already answered? *sigh* too early...
  15. Well, from all the E-stops / blocking goofs Ive seen on MF, theres one default point where it stops if the computer stops it automatically (not a user controlled e-stop). It stops the train something like 3/4th the way up every time, in the same spot. So say something goofs up with the blocking and the computer locks down, the train will ascend to that point, but stop there. Its just enough room to allow the train to speed up to its speed at the crest so it has enough to complete the circuit.
  16. No no, its: Walt Dizzney Wizzorld is da shiznit
  17. Hey Robb, that pictures a little big eh? just teasin... I must say, it starts to uncork very early going up. I would have to imagine theres gotta be some nice lateral push in the outer seats. Should be a neat experience.
  18. Heh. Yes, however, without trying to sound like an arse or a show off, this ride only took me 3 weeks. It was a challenge to myself and I competed against another ride that was much more 3d'ized and had been worked on for months. However, his ride wasnt techincally as realistic as mine so the challenge was to see if a ride thats techincally more realistic and smoother could beat a ride thats more or less alot of cool 3ds and themeing. I did win, but not by a whole lot. Check out my other rides Alvey uploaded, they shouldnt disappoint.
  19. I had to be evacuated from Mean Streak from the Mid Course. My sister was going to try and get pictures (however I got video from the MidCourse, haha) since the Dragster Engines sat under it, but the stupid supervisors got all agitated when they saw her trying. I also got stranded at like the 250ft point on Millennium for about 10 minutes, that rocked. Funniest thing about that was the train before us got stuck too. Jokingly as we boarded I told my girlfriend "Hey, wouldnt that be funny if we got stuck?" Needless to say when we stopped, I got "The look". hahaha. Oh!! We got stuck on Spiderman at IOA the FIRST time we were on it. Talk about a crappy way to see that ride! That sucked, wish I had a camera too.

That page doesnt exist. And true, the 300D is the entry level, but I havent even started to utilize all of the functions it has on it. Only a really avid, near professional person needs any more than the 300D offers. Plus I got mine for a fraction of the price they normally sell them at so Im very happy. No more scanning negatives!
  21. I would like to ride one of those Intamin woodies, but to me its just not a wooden coaster unless the things shakin and rattlin all over. Even Thunderhead, which is smooth as silk, still has the slams. The Intamin woodies are nothing more than fully heartlined steel coasters with a wooden facade. However, Balder looks AWESOME and Collosos looks good. I still will prefer my good old CCI and old classic wooden coasters with nice ejector and floater to a steel coaster that does the same. But I do prefer a ride with airtime and laterals over a ride with inversions and G's.
  22. I really hope that doesnt happen to me...eeek Well, Im still with my High School sweetheart, which will be 4 years in April. I must say it was quite a suprise for myself, maybe moreso for her. I went all of my life up till April of my Senior year without ever having a girlfriend, which was for the best. Upon good old prom in the near future, I was looking to ask someone just to take and have some fun with. I found someone who was willing and set it up (1st class in the morning). Third period I was told by a friend that this other girl really liked me (which was an understatement). I knew her, she went to my church and was in my youth group. My bro at the time had asked me what I thought of her and I said yea, shes gorgeous, great girl with a great heart, but probably a bit out of my league. Well, turns out she had a serious crush on me for about the last 5 months and I spent most of 3rd and 4th periods freaking out not knowing what to do. I can take the girl I asked, or, break her heart and go after the one who would probably be a better match for me and I already knew. Im not a person at all to be mean or inflict pain, but I had to do it. Spent about a month with her before prom, loved it completely. She was a freshman at the time so when I asked her to prom she freaked out supposedly. She was far from being a freshman by mentality, ha. She ran circles in the maturity department around MY graduating class. I asked her out with a poem before prom and that was it. Prom was and still is a complete blur, I remember moments but thats about it. We spent the night on my buddies floor with like 10 other people because in the morning we had a cool scavenger hunt that his girlfriends parents set up. That night as we were in our own sleeping bags on the floor we just laid there looking at each other and every time we would open our eyes, we opened them exactly together. It was pretty cool and pretty freaky at the same time. Im a weird guy like that, very much a romantic. Needless to say shes been the one and is the one. Cant wait till I can bug her 24/7 with coaster related material instead of just when I get to talk to her on the phone.

Well, the more pixels you have per inch, the sharper the picture (yes, unless your lens sucks) and the larger the image will print. DPI and Lens are pretty much the ruler of the Digital world. One without the other will do ok, maybe good at best. But after I got my Canond 300D, I dont think Id ever use anything else. Throwing on the 300mm Lens (which is about 550 after the Focal length multiplier) and taking rapid fire shots...MMMMmmm Cant wait for this coaster season, I may need another 1gb card!
  24. I think its just wrong. Puncture wounds arent nearly as bad as scrapes and slashes. They will heal with virtually no scars. On top of that, if you guys remember, they were given medical attention and further more asked if they wanted any more special attention and all of them denied it and then were released back into the park where they all, from what was reported, stayed till the end of the night. Then 2 of them went to their hospitals afterwards. Personally, I can understand the "Im not comfortable with anyone else" but if you can be released back into the park to go ride more rides, you certainly didnt suffer much from the incident. Honestly now...if that were the case I could claim a whole bunch of crap for the pain (physical and mental) Ive suffered at my work, but Im definatly not like that.
  25. I think its pathetic that there are OTSR's on THIS ride. No inversions, nothing really fancy except like 2 cork hills, song high speed turns and I think one or 2 more airtime hills. Is it really nessicary? Seems more like paranoia now when dealing with these rockets and the restraint choice...
