No Limits 2
Real replied to Dailey Enterprizes's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Yea. While we are at getting rid of people who build with tools (who use math), you might as well get rid of the B&M, Intamin, Vekoma and every other coaster company since they use Math as well. Infact, I would believe that alot MORE of the coaster industry is automated (certain parts) than we have. They have formulas they have prebuilt as well and Im sure it cuts down on time. -

Thats actually the entrance to the first overbank and it doesnt unbank probably for a few reasons. One - its meant to be banked that way because the small hill previous is part of a curve. If the hill were straight it would have a very nasty effect. The natural way of physics actually calls for this. Two, you cant bank and unbank too fast in normal PTC trains. Not as fast as I think you would need too in this case. Youll be fine. Ive ridden far worse transitions with no problems. As for the last turn out of the turn around...I think you are mistaken again. The last turn is on the right - not the left. It comes out from the tunnel on the left and exits heading back on the right (looking at that picture). That section actually looks to be da-bomb because you go 90 to the right, then crazy pop of air while twisting then turn hard left and into the stretch back. -

Thats what RCT is for. Want a game? Buy that. Ole created NL with a simulation totally in mind. Why do you think hes got contracts with REAL companies right now? Because he made a game or a simulation? A Simulation. If it even does turn into a game where its all fluffy with RCT stuff I will quit. It needs to stay a simulation - thats why its so cool. If its too hard for you or too simulationy - either get over it and learn or dont play it. These topics get real old. Just ends up everyone wanting it to be a game and not a simulation. Its the simulation part that makes it so cool. Go buy RCT3 if you want a game. -
CP or IOA - Which do you prefer?

CP or IOA - Which do you prefer?
Real replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
CP has thrills? lol. Well, a few. But they dont have Dueling Dragons. To which I could ride all day. Oh wait, I did last spring. 25+ times in a day. Would I take IOA over CP? Yes. Could that be because I live near CP and Im slightly sick of it? Maybe. But Dueling Dragons to me is better than all of CP combined. Plus the food at IOA destroys CP's (minus the CP fries). Atmopshere ruins CP's. Theme ahnihilates CP's. Fun Factor murders CP too. I just feel so much more relaxed when I walk around IOA than CP. Plus, since you get into both IOA and USF - you have to combine them. which in that case, heck you get Mummy which is by far one of the better rides Ive been on for the sheer fact that Brendan Fraser is part of it and he makes me laugh. -

http://www.thegravitygroup.com/voyage/03-06/index.htm New TGG pictures. Reveals some of the new stuff...like this: http://www.thegravitygroup.com/voyage/03-06/pages/21.htm you enter that from the camera view which means that hill he is standing on is...yes - wrongly banked hill. Can be seen here: http://www.thegravitygroup.com/voyage/03-06/pages/17.htm Look to the far left youll see they inserted a quick opposite banked hill before the 1st 90. More sexiness- train from left to right: http://www.thegravitygroup.com/voyage/03-06/pages/26.htm -
We only had so much room to work with so the hills had to be crunched a bit. I wasnt going for an exact replica of a B&M hill. The hills would be the exact same if they were stretched out a bit but normal B&M hills take up too much room.

This was created for a contest styled like the NCAA where we started with 64 then chopped it not to 32 but took the top 16. I ended up tied for 1st but seeded second (no big deal). Its a pretty nice ride created in just 2 weeks (more like 1 week). Some fancy 3ds spine enhancements, footers and connectors. Pictures here: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p1653 Enjoy your ride on Dragon! (You do need the Nolimits Track Packager which can be found here: http://www.gravimetricstudios.com/softw ... /index.cfm) Dragon_Real.zip

http://nldc.interfix.net/p949 Its a long ways from completion but its already got its first 3d customization object - the spine. It let me texture it exactly the way that Cedar Fair paints their B&M's (which I love the paint schemes) and so far so good. Its exactly 3110ft on the inch and pulls pretty much the same nice G's throughout. Due to the NL physics being off slightly the helix retains more speed than it should and pulls nearly 4.7G's (5.0 but very, very brief) though I would say that the helix does pull around 4 or a little more but its really a minor detail - we work with what we have And since I opt to have the track be modeled exactly reguardless how NL renders it, thats why. Ill try to keep up to date on the rest of the rides progress since my work is done (the track and spine). Someone else is doing all of the other work for me.

Well, obviously with noise complaints being so wide spread around many parks in the US and especially in Europe (well, only a few) it seems that filling them with the sand is just the only safe way to prevent any future issues with sound. That and this thing ventures out farther than most of the rides seem to so its no suprise. Youll have to go to CP to hear the ear shattering noise if you want it (well, else where as well) Mantis is just the loudest B&M Ive ever heard. Ridiculous. With people it should go a bit faster but not alot. I dont notice alot of deviation in speed and force on B&M rides especially because they are so much shorter and consistant than other steel types. I also just find less deviation on steel rides to begin with. I find more of a difference in wooden than steel when it goes from empty to full. But still, looks AWESOME. I think Im going to go there this year. Its only 10 hours away but worth it.

Dude, I still can sing the tune from the original yet I havent seen it in a decade at least. Arr-Ee-Ess, See-Yoo-Eee. Res-cue Aid So-si-ety. (spelled out phoenetically and to the music) Good movies...

Hamster, Rat, Mouse, they all look similar to me. Well, maybe not rats but Ive seen mice that look similar to small hamsters. You cant ignore nature.

Bingo and bingo. Its also not that hard to be efficient when you have a spread offense. Look at Manning. Manning would still be good at any team but hes amazing at Indy because he has some top notch receivers and a great running back. When you have that combo defenses dont know who or what to pick on at any given moment so theres hesitation which ultimatly leads to missed tackles and bad plays. I agree, Ben is good but only at Pitt. I dont think hed have the same success at anywhere else because the Steelers are so balanced. Kinda like how I feel about Brady...same thing. Nothing stellar, just fell into the right team at the right time and just happened to be "solid". Nothing more, nothing less. Tis why no one picks him for fantasy football. He only gets ya like 2TD's a game.

20 million US should get them something better than Superman. Storm Runner cost only 12.5 million and Superman Escape was 12 million US. Sounds like they are going quite decently sized. -
You just said it though...the team got there - not Ben. I havent seen Ben do anything crazy stellar, just be solid. Behind that line and the rest of the team that wasnt incredibly hard to do. Give him a couple more years, then we will see what hes made of. Especially if they go through any hard times. They havent really seen those yet in the last 2 seasons. Its not how well you do when things are good but how well you do when things suck.
-
ONLY because he has an incredible team around him. Hes hardly ever rushed because of their great offensive line and when they have a decently spread offense with 2 targets down field and Bettis in the back, anyone could be that good. Not to mention their stellar defense tends to hold games within a touchdown or two. Ben is good, hes proven that. But hes still overrated IMO. it takes more than 2 years to prove a quarterbacks worth. If the team does lose key players, then we will see what hes made of. Hes a product of "Right place at right time".

That was a computer rendering with a program thats known to have higher than normal friction levels for wooden coasters. Plus it an out and back. Duh, it wont have the uniquness of a sprawled out layout like Raven. Unless a triple down into a tunnel isnt unique. Those are just oh so common these days -
