  1. Vampires, werewolves, MUMMIES OH MY!!! From the land of ginormous outdoor escalators, I bring you a SCAREadise postcard of Universal Studios Hollywood's Revenge of the Mummy. Is Florida's really better? I thought this was a pretty fun ride! Happy Hollyween Something bugs me about this postcard!
  2. Rock it Divv...can't wait to see more!
  3. Love that Marriott's homage there Shane. Can't wait to see the new stuff!
  4. I saw this featured on the Travel Channel last Halloween, and it looked amazing, but $32.00 does seem a bit steep. Thanks for reminding me to check out HauntWorld...been meaning to see what they have up for Halloween this year.
  5. TPR friends, ghouls and goblins...the SCAREadise is back!!! To kick off the sequel here's a postcard of HallowSwings from Holiday World. Mmmmm...I like bats.
  6. ^ Great cards Bill...thanks for sharing! Here's a little plug for Great Adventure Online website's first ever "Online Day" (<---click) coming up next Saturday, October 3rd, at SFGAdv. Although I live too far away to attend the event unfortunately, it sounds like it will be awesome. I promised the GAO website owner and TPR member, Josh, I'd help promote the event, so EVERYONE GO!!! Now to get you all in the mood for this event, which by the way coincides with the first night of Fright Fest, here's a scary ghost from SFGAdv's past...Viper. Oh and by the way, next Sunday kicks off my Postcard SCAREadise 2! Who has this credit? Togo Ghost
  7. ^^ Is there any area flat enough at SFStL for Chang? Unless it goes in the parking lot, wouldn't they have to do a LOT of land grading?
  8. ^ If Greezed Lightnin' were to get the ax, I also second that motion for Shane to buy it and give it back its original name and theming of Tidal Wave. It would fit in perfect with Cowabunga Bay!
  9. You just never know when an old coaster in storage will spring back to life. While it's cool and all that a piece of AstroWorld will get a second life, I think most (all?) of us wish it wasn't Serial Thriller. Poor La Ronde...well at least you guys got Goliath not too long ago, which though I haven't ridden it, by all accounts looks like a great ride. Hopefully Serial Thriller gets those new Vekoma trains with the better OTSR's at least. This makes me very nervous. Ouch.
  10. I also suggest this thread for lots o' good info: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50420 If you want to try to avoid parking fees at DW, I suggest the Dolly Trolley which runs from the main trolley area in downtown Pigeon Forge to DW back and forth all day. Parking is free there and the trolley is 50 cents a ride/person. Trolley link: http://www.pigeonforgetrolley.org/rideguide.html
  11. Ideally if Chang is truly going to SFGAm, I'd like to see it get the Bizarro treatment and intertwine with Superman...loop interlocking with a pretzel loop anyone?
  12. For beer, I suggest the Smoky Mountain Brewery on the upper end of Gatlinburg just before you get to the state park entrance. Mmmmm...micro brews. They also have some pretty rockin pizza.
  13. Yikes...rumor on Screamscape about Whizzer being replaced by Chang now. With Busch claiming Big Bad Wolf reaching the end of its service life, I wonder if SFGAm will claim the same about Whizzer.
  14. Konichiwa...shout outs to everyone on the TPR Japan trip! Japan is truly one of the most amazing countries one can ever experience. When I went with TPR in '07, I was totally blown away by everything. It seemed like there was always something totally cool, random, and awesome everywhere we went within the span of about every 5 seconds. Kurashiki Tivoli was no exception. While you won't find extreme thrills here, the park is GORGEOUS beyond words and has a very European feel and charm to it. Besides the two coasters, there were several notable flat rides including a very intense Wave Swinger, a dessert/food themed spinning ride, a log flume with a curved lift hill, and unbelievable tea cups of death! I remember the walk through attraction having something to do with very scary Vikings. I should also mention Kurashiki is the home of Kidtum's first coaster credit! Check out this Coastertube video from the TPR visit to Kurashiki! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=TivoliPark[/coastertube] I love you Japan! Bonus postcard...TOKYO!!! Beautifully lit tiny carousel...check!
  15. Hey Gerd...have you cooked up any new culinary delights you'd like to share with TPR? I miss seeing your food!
  16. Bill it certainly looks like an early Intamin tower. Thanks for sharing!
  17. The Scrambler rule may be because of several accidents (such as the one at Rye) that have occured with single riders who had more than enough room in the car to get positioned on their knees and were subsequently flung out. I'm not sure if that's possible with more than one rider per car, but it probably makes it harder.
  18. Fireball looks totally rockin'. Thanks for sharing the POV Robb!
  19. Occasionally I like to feature one of the parks "local" to me, and with the odd *rumor* on Screamscape this week about Chang moving to SFGAm, I thought it was about time to do a spotlight on this SFKK coaster. Personally I prefer sitting down, but if I'm going to stand, then I'd rather do it on Chang than any other stand up coaster I've ever ridden. Besides, does SFGAm actually have any room for Chang? Sorry Riddler, Scorcher, and every other stand up...you're just not as good as Chang. Asian theming really does relate to Kentucky. It is a little known secret that the state was once under Chinese rule!
  20. That's some amazing artwork and nice to see a sky ride in the plans!
  21. WOW I am loving your bathroom postcard wallpaper Bill! Looking forward to seeing what gems from it you have to share with us. Hmmm...I think I spy a postcard of an Intamin tower perhaps?! Thanks for the Postcard Paradise birthday wishes, and oh...how did the remodel of the bathroom wall go? Would love to see photos of the renovation.
  22. Wow I didn't know Anne Frank lived in a 1960's shuttered up Mies Van Der Rohe/Corbusian style house!
  23. B is for birthday...and also for Balder! It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by since I started this thread. That's right...it's our one year anniversary here in the Paradise. So in lieu of no birthday cake, we'll celebrate with something better...Balder! This woodie is simply amazing...fast, very smooth, lots of airtime, great headchoppers, pacing, tunnels, etc., etc. The fact that it's located in an awesome Swedish park, Liseberg, is icing on the birthday cake. Our night ERT rides on Balder during the TPR Scandi trip this summer were INSANE!!! Thank you Liseberg for your incredible hospitality and awesome ERT while TPR visited this summer (oh and might I add your meatballs are the best on the planet!), and thanks again everybody for checking out this thread over the past year! I'll have another slice of cake please. Mmmmmm...Balder tastes so good!
  24. When you go to the video link on Youtube, the description says this vid was shot in 2004 in Ayia Napa which I researched and found to be in Cyprus. The person who submitted the vid to Youtube says when they visited again in 2005 the ride was gone.
