  1. I can't believe they opened DLP w/o a Splash Mountain! Never knew that.
  2. Don't forget, they are building Tower Of Terror at the Disney Studios! Unfortunately it's not scheduled to open until Halloween of 2007. They are also building an indoor Maurer Sohne spinning coaster over there, also due to open in 2007.
  3. The ride was themed as a labaratory called "XS Tech". The guests were supposed to be visitors invited to see a demonstation of new teleportation technology developed at the lab. In the preshow room, "SIR" (A really good AA) demonstrated the technology by sending "Skippy" from one end of the room to the other. An AA alien trapped in a containment tube disappears as the tube fills with smoke. He appears in another tube, looking all fried due to the process. The staff invited you to witness one of XS tech's staff alien's arrival via teleportation for yourself. This time, instead of from one side of a room to another, from a far off planet to Tomorrowland. The room you enter is a circle with a teleport tube in the center. During the process, something is screwed up, and a monstrous alien from the wrong planet ends up in the room. The special effects were great. The room becomes pitch dark and the glass on the tube is shattered. They shake and press down on the restraints, as well as blow warm air down your neck to simulate the alien stalking you. At one point, little pokers actually came out of the headrest to simulate the alien was touching you. It was really well done and pretty believable. Definately the most screams I've ever heard on a Disney ride. Sean "lucky enough to experience it before it was neutered" "Skippy" is still a part of the Stitch butchering.
  4. I'm trying to get a "piece of history" pin which includes a strand of cable from WDW's Tower Of Terror, but I can't see paying the $60+ they've been going for on ebay.
  5. I can't say I have seen an e-ticket. Cool! I collect pins from all the parks I visit, and I've got some from Disney parks I've yet to visit. 3 pins from Tokyo Disney Sea are on their way.
  6. Hopefully we get a layout soon. Glad they're blogging it.
  7. That, and the name Stealth is a little... unusual for an auto racing theme. Eh, what matters most is Europe is starting to get Rockets left and right.
  8. I have a very good sense of humor. I just don't feel drowning in freezing water is subject for comedy. I don't mean any disrespect and I believe you are all entitled to say whatever you want, I was just sharing my opinion. My bad.
  9. Wow, the theming is actually pretty nice!
  10. I agree meteor, but Twisted... the problem wasn't that ride was scary. The problem was ignorant parents walked their kids right under the NEON TERROR sign and into the attraction. I miss it so...
  11. This is great news! Anytime I'm in NF I always stop by Marineland. Yeah, the price is a little steep but they have a rare Huss Magic, and I personally love Dragon Mountain. Any idea where they're building this thing?
  12. Wait a tic... Why are we blaming this on Vekoma again?? I know some people don't like their rides due to roughness, but someone has died because of a boat railing. Are you serious? Come on now...
  13. AE was my favorite non-mountain Disney ride (if that makes any sense) and I feel the Stitch thing just plain sucks. They shut the ride down because there were too many complaints of it being too scary in a park geared at families. For the record, the name of the ride was... The Extra TERROR Estrial Alien Encounter You don't see them turning Tower of TERROR into a frog hopper because people bitched about it being too scary for their kids. Terror is RIGHT IN THE NAME! I really think they should have just maybe moved it over to Epcot, where they could use another thrill experience, and just replaced the building with something else completely. At least they kept Skippy... I wonder where the big alien went? R.I.P.
  14. I don't think zero g rolls are supposed to be heartlined. It would have to be in a perfectly straight line, correct? I like the designs on the support beams, will the entire support structure sport those stripes?
  15. What's up Jarvis, Just got your DVD in the mail and saw the first few minutes o fit, I will be watching the rest tonight when I get out of work. I really like it so far, great music, and great quality. Thank you very much for getting this me for free! I'll be sure to let ya know what I think when I'm through watching it.
  16. Good to see progress, what kind of waterslides will this place be getting? You officially stole my attention when you said "rumored B&M".
  17. Is Le Scoot being removed? I loved the way the last drop brought you right beside Alpengeist's zero g roll.
  18. I love the park just the way it is, and hope that '07 is the year for a coaster. It just frustrates me that they've removed two coasters and still haven't replaced DF. I think a nice floorless coaster would do well in that location.
  19. Drachen Fyre was in that lot in the bottom center of the photo, and yes, they have a really nice train at BGW. One of my favorites. Crossing the bridge...
  20. I was just never one for superhero theming. I mean, I'm glad we didn't end up with a Darien clone like SFA, but why give it the same name? Theme to any of the other DC characters... like Steel. I agree with you they don't have many choices, I just feel they overdue the Superman thing between all the parks. And why is Batman not in the DC section... I'm just going to shut up now.
  21. They've also redone their dark rides and added a free fall tower. I would say it's worth going back just for that. Also, if you haven't done it yet. There's this "Zombie World" shooting dark ride on the boardwalk (outside the parks) that's not to be missed.
  22. If they were painted teal, they would fade shortly anyways. I agree, Medusa East needs some love, maybe Snyder will bless us with a new coat of paint. Hey Snyder, while you're at it, retheme and repaint SROS SFNE. It deserves a better name.
  23. Yes! That will be a great help, thank you!
  24. Another vote for USF's Mummy, I also really like the exploding truck on Earthquake.
  25. Does anyone out there have a clear layout photo, an aerial, or better yet, a 3D rendering of BGW's Alpengeist? I will be building a "Coaster Dynamix" model based on this coaster. Any help would be aprreciated. Thanks.
