Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
WFChris replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Theme parks can be very confusing places for people who do not visit regularly. You may be there every day but for many of your guests it may be their first visit ever, or in perhaps, many years. Their last visit may have been when smoking was allowed everywhere. When they are on their way to Flight Deck, they are not looking for restrooms. I don't think it is appropriate to post about a guest wondering where the nearest bathroom is on an online forum. As an employee, you should really be embracing the guests and making them feel comfortable instead of laughing on the inside about how stupid you think they are. I tell my guests 100 times a day that the restroom 'the 2nd door on your right.' I get tired of saying it, but they have never been here, and they dont know, but they appreciate it when I don't roll my eyes and I act like I genuinely care when they ask. I would guess that employees complaining about innocent guests is NOT the intent of this forum, and even more so knowing that many park superiors check this website out regularly. Sorry, your two posts kind of struck a nerve with me. -
^I think some people are trying to provide a little story as to why they are disappointed with its removal, and in the course of their writing, it comes off as complaining (or in many cases, becomes actual complaining). I for one, will definitely miss the Log Jammer as it has been around my entire life and it provides some of my first memories of being scared sh*tless because there were no restraints. It also represents the only full size ride in that region of the park and really anchors the theme. I hope the new ride maintains the woodsy feel of that part of the park and acts as a new and exciting draw to the region. I am also in the 'Jet Stream is worse than Log Jammer' fangroup, but I do understand that the removal of Log Jammer makes much more sense from a design standpoint. That being said, there IS already a flume, and it's called Jet Stream, and it technically is the newer of the two, so naturally it should stay. I feel like every time a ride removal happens anywhere, there is this stupid over exaggerated reply from its fanboys that refuse to let the parks progress. While I know that many of us will miss Log Jammer, I wish we can just sit here and reflect on the memories it has provided, instead of talking about why it should stay. It would prevent a ton of the useless arguments that ultimately shut down constructive conversation in these threads where we can be reflecting on good memories; instead of everybody whining to the point of forcing Robb to shut everybody down.

Sant NarcĂs Fair (Girona - Spain)
WFChris replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That really does look amazing! For a less dense, American version, perhaps somebody here can try to make their way up to the Nevada County Fair in California (TPR's favorite state). It is set in the forest but the rides are in nowhere near as dense of forest as that one is! -
Did Jet Stream EVER flow like a normal flume? It seems to me that the design flaw is the lack of a run-out from the first drop. The flume just continues at an accelerated speed from that point all the way down to the top of the final drop. If they can slow down the boat after the first drop and make the rest of the ride a leisure FLOATING flume, I think it would make the ride significantly better.

The "I just did this in a Theme Park" Thread
WFChris replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hadn't been to Disneyland in over a decade, so I bought some AP's and the first thing we did was catch Captain E.O. -
Six Flags Surveys Meal Options
WFChris replied to CardCraze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think ending the food benefit at 2pm is stupid. Who on earth would want THAT? Most annual passholders arrive well after 2pm. Unlimited food should be available until all food is closed. Isn't that what UNlimited means? -
General Public...a myth?

EUROPA PARK & HOTEL RESORT - Exploration 2011
WFChris replied to GeorgeT's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
These ongoing Europa reports really make me envious. It's like Disneyland, but with OTSRs and inversions! -
^My friends would totally think I am weird if I actually said this, but as I have gotten older I have found that I too enjoy the 'classics' more and more. Ninja at SFMM, Montezoomas Revenge, BBW, Disney Coasters, and the like. I am all for an intense ride but I can only handle so much in a day! "FUN" rides are more and more what I am looking to seek out. Verbolten and Cheetah Hunt, while I have not ridden the latter, seem to be rides that are perfect for my tastes these days. So, while I did get to ride BBW (didn't find it to be any more or less interesting than Ninja), I am very happy with the replacement.

Plexiglass. I mean seriously; this is a multi-million dollar investment intended to duel. They might as well taer it down if it is not going to operate as intended. It's too bad that I have not and never will get to ride the true Dueling Dragon's coaster. I guess I'll just try to focus on the fact that I got to ride Loch Ness with both trains going through the loops at the same time!

I don't know if its just the computer I'm using, but the vast majority of the pictures in post #10, #13 and #14 did not come through. I bet if you uploaded your pictures to the TPR servers, the mods would have these featured on the home page in no time! As you know though, I love your reports and they make my work day so much happier. -
I'm not sure what you mean. IOA offers FREE finger-print controlled lock-ers which are free for the duration of the estimated ride queue length (plus some buffer time). Generally, I will keep my wallet, camera, and phone in my pockets (to avoid buying a lock-er), but at IOA, I found myself regularly using the free lock-er program to avoid the risk of losing anything in my pockets. Well, the problem with the free storage-devices is, that while appreciated, asking people these days to part from their cell phone to wait in line, even for a half an hour, is like asking them for their first born. Have you looked around in queues lately? Unless there is a way to secure the items immediately before boarding or on the actual ride, I don't see people willingly parting with their items, particularly their cell phones.
