  1. The bunny hops have been installed to remind Magic Mountain guests that this is indeed a different ride than Colossus. After the 'Apocolypse is just Psyclone repainted' fiasco they had to deal with after re-branding X, they are not taking any chances.
  2. I'm surprised that you liked The Bat more than Ninja. I felt that it was more intense for like 5 seconds, but all in all, Ninja was a better ride experience. I know the final 'lift to nowhere' throws some people off though. Also, I agree that Vortex isn't all that bad. Not good, but not terrible
  3. Guys, regarding the dual loading station, the track already placed clearly indicates that there will be no merge point. So it's not happening. /debate.
  4. Hopefully never. I kind of miss the days where the exact layout and ride experience were a little more of a surprise.
  5. The area of the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena today has a lot of plant life, it is said that much of that is from it's previous existence as a Busch Gardens. In fact, there are still a couple of streets over there called Busch Garden Drive & Court. It's in my opinion a relatively unknown historic piece of Amusement Park History here in LA (where we have a notorious reputation for not preserving anything historic). Just saw this thread pop up again and thought I would throw in my 2 cents
  6. I saw a picture of a Revolution train sitting on service tracks with no OTSRs on it on Facebook. Anybody have info or even better...SPECULATION about this?
  7. ^Also remember that Viper has excellent capacity, and the dispatches always seem quick. That combined can keep lines short all day long.
  8. If Flashback at SFMM counts, then I should change my answer from Superman: The Escape to Flashback. I miss Flashback. Flashback was my favorite. Like, seriously. I wish Flashback would return. Flashback.
  9. ^I think Scream might get a second wind with the opening of TC, that is, if they play their cards correctly.
  10. Wait a minute...was that a Top Thrill Dragster themed laundry machine? I think my day is complete...
  11. Cool end to the report! And if you think 'authentic' Mexican food in California is good, wait till you try it IN Mexico!!! It's a million times better literally right on the other side of the border....and improves as you move south!
  12. I'm pretty sure it's Superman: The Escape at SFMM. Unless anybody knows of another Intamin in Southern California that I would have ridden prior to that opening...?
  13. Haven't been but I understand Gilroy Gardens here in California is never very busy. And from personal experience, I can tell you that Mundo Divertido in Tijuana, MEX has not been crowded the two times I've been there!
  14. That look in the very last picture there is priceless!
  15. I was actually at the LA County Fair when this happened...and was texting with my friend in Adelaide that happened to be at that fair that day. It was definitely kinda weird communicating with somebody that was at another fair, at the same time, dealing with a tragedy. My thoughts go out to the family of the child.
  16. I would say my favorites that I've been on are: B:TR - SFMM Dark Knight - SFM (themeing was excellent inside the building and out, and it's fun to watch the pre-show dubbed in Spanish.) B:TR - SFM However, in the poll my finger somehow clicked B:TR - SFM. Gotta show some love
  17. Glad to see this P:TR continuing on! Thanks for posting
  18. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Zipper running at the LA County Fair. It's strange that I can handle several re-rides on that thing but can't do the majority of the newer spin-and-puke carnival rides!
  19. I think mine was B:TR at SFMM.
  20. Totally knowing that the l o c k e r filter is because of THIS VERY THREAD, I'll say this: I am totally cool paying $1 for a lock_er while I ride. What I'm not cool with is when lines are long, you not only end up waiting forever to ride, but then you have to pay an extra buck to get your stuff back. Has only happened once but it's kind of a burn. Heck, even California Adventure has FREE lo_ckers for the rapid ride! /end
  21. If people didn't think I was weird, I would have nothing.
  22. The sheer amount of facepalm I have been experiencing with the reporting and the beloved comments on Facebook seriously make me question the quality of news being reported to me from outside of the Amusement Park world. So, that being said, I hope that everybody gets evacuated safely from the (closed) park, and the new 3D coaster is everything we were hoping for! Oh! And regarding the comments, I hope SFMM gets all of the insurance money they were hoping for due to this fraudulent fire that was intentionally set because Colossus just closed forever and now they needed a way to claim some money for it.
  23. Cool update! Been enjoying it because I spent a lot of time living in national parks, and of course love roller coasters. So this report is a little of everything I like! I know it's not the US, but as for another permanent Inverter in North America, there's one at Six Flags Mexico
  24. Always fun to read your mega fan-boy reports:) My pass is expiring in a few weeks and I don't think I'm going to renew...but your report is seriously making me consider otherwise!
  25. ^I think it's a great rule. There are few things worse than slow dispatches and seeing ride ops on their cell phones. And plus, these guys are in charge of our lives. They shouldn't be facebooking or texting or whatever.
