^ I always wonder if there are members from TPR, TP.nl or onride.de in the park. When I was leaving the parkinglot a saw couple of cars with onride.de stickers on them. If only there was a place on this site where we can post our whereabouts and meet up with eachother. -----Hans

It's a gift. I'll try to help you to keep the park index up to date. First of don't say that sort of things. Hanno makes one the most magnificent pictures that are posted on this site. I'm jealous on how he can capture the expression on the riders faces. Second, I think when the place get greener it will be very hard to take good pictures. I don't know if it will make the ride any "better". In the front seat it's very smooth and there is no headbanging at all. In the back seat it's a little bit more rough. So when you're there choose for the frontseat. -----Hans

Hi everyone, The past autumn/winter Plopsaland got my attention cause they announced their new ride Anubis. The ride opened a couple of weeks a go and after I'd seen the photo's of Hanno I did want to go asap. Although it was a 3,5 hour drive (one way) it was very well worth it. Plopsaland is mainly a park for little children and they don't have much thrill rides. There are 6 coaster but 4 of them are kiddie coasters. New chapter........Anubis. This is a great ride. A powerful launch, A Sh.tload of airtime on the tophat then a drop in Geforce style well not as high but it gave some sort of the same effect. After the drop follows an Immelman - Diveloop section but in the transition between the two elements there is an insanely quick and sudden drop which I really loved. You could hear the wheels slide on the track. It maintains a good speed throughout the whole ride. It was very smooth in the front, the middle seats were okay but when you sit in the rear it is a bit bumpy. I can only say anyone who lives nearby, go to plopsaland and ride that coaster. I think more of the smaller parks should get a Gerstlauer custom coaster. On to the pictures..... For all you parkmap fans. Waiting to get out, run to the entrance and ride again. And into the final brakerun which is a good place to take your coasterporn pictures. Zoomed. Errr I mean it goes into the last inversion with plenty of hangtime. After the Immelman it goes in the mcbr section through a couple of corners and crashes into this tree. Diveloop/Immelman. Then it goes back into an Immelman. And zoomed. It was a bit of bad weather to take good clear pictures. Still that same drop. From a distance. Then this drop is so steep and sudden. Simply amazing. Then there is a transition which looks like it's a mcbr with no brakes on it. Going into the diveloop. First drop again. Are you ready.... Before we go back to the Anubis pictures. Let's catch up some breathe. Let's bring in a small pause. Down the Geforce style drop. Over the tophat filled with airtime. ^ The launch was very powerful. Directly into the launch. Coming out of the station. Looking up the staircase. ^ In the queue area were a lot of "unlucky" animals. Opening up. It's Anubis the ride with it's impressive station building. Although the park opened at 10 am this ride only opened at noon and the springflyer opened at 1 pm. Now were you all been waiting for. Also a ride for the small children. And a safari ride. Only for children up to 1m40. Bumpercars. It's a forest with gnomes in it. Crappy old boats. There was an old darkride too. I think it was already there in the MeliPark era. However it's now re-themed around Kabouter Plop. Apparently there were only adults on this ride. I was looking for Big Betsy the whole day but I couldn't find her. Beautiful caroussel right at the entrance of the park. Finaly Dongo opened up. Prices. The park has a nicely themed restaurant. But it are amazing rides. It was not the appropriate weather to ride is. There were hard winds and high up in the sky it was very cold. Spring flyer. Overview of the ride from the parking. Decorative ride sign. Station building. I almost didn't fit and I had to do some sort of aerobics to get me in. It looks like it's a fun ride. The worst coaster in the park. I had to run after I took this picture or I would be soaked. Look at the kid on the first row. The water coaster with a fun drop filled with airtime. Everything in this park is very well themed. It's located at the middle of the lake. Just a moment of silence for the Pirate ship. With an evil looking dragon. It's a mack powered coaster. Coming out of the station. View taken from the station building. Going through one of it's helices. But take a look at the station it's really amazing. The impressive station building of a below average powered coaster. And final drop. Overview of the area. Backwards pov of the second lift. and going up the second lift. and first drop with onride photo. Going up the first lift. Yeah we're having fun. Pov section. Biggest drop. Log Flume station. On to the logflume doggystyle. With a glimpse of Anubis on the left. Overview of lake plopsaland. And get out clean. And OMG going through a washing machine. Down the first drop. Going up the lift. You have get into this shoe. So we headed to this strange themed rollerskater. Or not. It was still testing at 11 am and it had a few rollbacks during testing. First coaster of the day. Balloon ride There was some kind of Christian Mutality day. I can only encourage that. There are a lot of rides for little children. They close the swing at 8 beaufort. At every ride they play annoying Studio 100 music. First ride of the day. Plopsaland still pays hommage to Melipark. Until 1999 this park was known as Melipark. ^ Nearby the main entrance there is a square which is very populair to the children. We are so happy that we arrived at Plopsaland. Main entrance.

^ No that can't be. What kind of idiot is going to wait in such a line. Well I would do it if I had the opportunity right now. I waited over 2 hours on Goliath (walibi world) on it's opening weekend. ----Hans -
^ Didn't know that. Most of the times when they measure the kid at the ride itself and they are too short by a cm they may not ride. Sometimes when the "pole" touching the kids hair they are allowed to ride. So I think it very depends which operator is working. Another example.... There were a lot of new employees and the new ones are much more strict to the rules. On Goliath they pushed the lapbar very hard and didn't leave much extra airtime. ----Hans

Well the system could work but while waiting in line for Goliath we saw a kid that was wearing a white wristband (140 cm) but was clearly under. So I asked his parents and they told me that he was 138 cm but that the park staff gave him a white one?!?! Which means he could get on all the rides without a problem.

Isn't there really any coaster with some decent airtime? Are you coming to Holland this summer. I thought that you guys weren't coming.

I went to Walibi World for the first time of the 2009 season. There were a few changes to the park not a lot but there were some. The park is getting more and more in a bad shape, the rides are lacking on maintainance and they didn't get a new "big" ride for ages. I think that Goliath (2002) was the last big ride. At least the park have a friendly staff. Goliath wasn't in his best form but I experienced the same thing last year and during the season the ride was getting awesome. All of the coasters opened with a 2 train operation but there were only about 2000 people in the park so around noon they decided to take out one train. That wasn't too bad cause we still had to wait for about 5 minutes to get on Goliath. Blah Blah Blah..... On to the pics. Can any california coaster beat this. Last turn. See this ride is fun. The longest line of the day. This ride is the reason I'm still visiting Walibi World. It's located on the same square as Space Shot and I believe this ride is relocated from the Walibi Land area. New ride for 2009 Walibi is building for it's future. LOL After ignoring La Via Volta for two years they put the site under construction. But what's that. Construction site!!!! Park map See here they are handing out the white one which stands for people over 140 cm. Here you can measure your kid and get a colored wristband according to the kids length. The first new thing right at the entrance.

Fun report. I can never get enough of those Geforce pictures. Is Blue Fire really that good compared to the Geforce or is it just because it's a new ride. I'm planning to go to Holiday Park in July on one of the summernights. ----Hans -

Great report. It's been a while for me since my last race visit. I think it was Hockenheim 2005. It's always awesome to attend a formula 1 event. It's been a very spectacular season up until now and I hope we will get more exciting races like Melbourne and Malaysia. Since I am a big Barrichello fan I hope he can win the next couple GP's. ----Hans -

I've only been on Colossos and El Toro and if I had to choose between those two the choise isn't too hard. El Toro is the better one, more airtime, more speed, steeper drop. And El Toro have that amazingly insane last airtime hill. ----Hans
