That truly was a great list and I have to agree with you on all the coasters. I have been on quite a few of the ones on the list but seeing your amazing POV and off-ride videos of the ones I haven't been on, I can't complain on how amazing they look. This really is one of the best lists out there and it's pretty amazing that it's on the Travel Channel website. CONGRATS! Jimmy "I'm in a picture! Bo

JimmyBo replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice pictures Erik! Glad you had a great time at the park and got all your credits. Batman backwards is just insane to think about. I can't even imagine how intense it is. I also believe that Viper is a very underrated coaster. I love Viper and I have never had a bad ride on it. Jimmy "Where are the Erik videos?" Bo -
IMPORTANT QUESTION! Please Read and Respond!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm probably one of the few but BASH events work better for me if they are on the weekend. I hardly ever get time off during the week and living in AZ it's not like I can travel to a theme park in couple hours to hit up a BASH event. If it's during the week, then for me it's usually a day of traveling, then BASH, then a day of traveling to get back home. At least with the weekends I can use those days to travel. Photo TR: Hanno checks out another Dutch themepark.
JimmyBo replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great stuff Hanno! It really makes me wonder why we couldn't get something like this in areas of the US that don't have major theme parks...e.i. Arizona! Seriously, a little park like this with some indoor attractions and outdoor attractions would do amazing in AZ. Someone get on that! Make it work! Great pic as always Hanno. It's like you're a professional photographer or something, Jimmy "Kill Angry Birds!" Bo -
TPR's Mexico Tour Mini Updates
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great stuff so far! I was truly surprised at the layout for the Morgan Hyper. I never really looked into it but it looks like a pretty decent ride. I am not really a big fan of floater air as I prefer ejector air but that layout seems to be pretty damn awesome. Glad you guys survived "the quake" even though I bet it's a lot more scary to have a 5.5 magnitude quake hit in Mexico rather than Cali because I'm sure the building standards aren't as strict as Cali. I remember seeing La Montana Rusa in some roller coaster VHS back in the day (which was a Wednesday) and it's kind of sad to see it not turn out that great over the years. Anyway, keep up the amazing updates and can't to see more videos! Jimmy "Donde esta las tres amigos?" Bo -
That's pretty awesome! I remember visiting the Kennedy Space Center as a kid when we did a trip to Disney World back in 1991. I was so upset that we had to leave Disney World to go and see some stupid space thingys. I do recall being very interested in a lot of the stuff once I was there and for a time I wanted to go to space camp and become an astronaut so I can be weightless. Now since I can get a feeling of weightlessness on coasters and drop towers I vetoed out of the space program. I think whenever we make it out to Disney World with the fam, we might make a trek down to the Space Center to check things out. Jimmy "Great update!" Bo

SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The engineering nerd/theme park nerd in me totally just had a major gasm and I might need some more tissues. Seriously, great detail photos of everything this ride has to offer. All the planning that it looks like is going into this ride, it's going to make this ride and whole area AMAZING! I can't wait to get back out to Florida to tackle penguins. Can you tackle penguins in this new area? Can you pet them or feed them? If not, it's still going to be an incredible expansion! Jimmy "More tissues" Bo -
The Official WEST COAST BASH 2013 Thread!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! I am really going to try and get the family out there that weekend. We usually make a trip sometime in the summer to go and see the parents/grand parents in Cali so it looks like we'll make it that weekend. Can't wait for more details! Hell, maybe my 1 year old will finally make it to a theme park this year. WOOHOO! Jimmy "Goin back to Cali" Bo -
Why all the screaming, Robb?
JimmyBo replied to douggw's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you heard a woman having an orgasm on a ride...would you complain about it? What if you were sitting next to said woman? Hearing any type of audio other than dead old silence on a coaster is what makes a coaster come to life. Jimmy "I scream in Robb's ear if he sits in front of me" Bo -
First off...holy crap! This looks pretty damn impressive. This makes me want to bust out my old RCT3 CD and start playing it and finishing those never finished parks I created so many years ago. I have never used No Limits but I am probably one of the very few that used (and still use to this day) Scream Machines. Anyway, I think one of the main things that would be amazing in this game is the ability to custom create ride queues with theming and effects and then actually be able to see them in action. By that I mean that you might be able to walk along the queue line and see things from the "General Publics" Point of view. Maybe call it the GPPOV. I remember creating some pretty amazing stuff in RCT3 but then having it covered with a roof and that made it hard to see what was actually inside. I think that would be a pretty amazing feature. I also think that a better coaster editing system than RCT3 would be ideal. I don't know if it could be up to par with No Limits or Scream Machines but hopefully you aren't stuck with prefabbed track pieces everywhere. I hope you are able to modify inversion shapes and sizes as well and turn and drops. This looks like any amazing game and I excited to see the final outcome. Keep up the god work guys! Jimmy "If you are looking for game testers, I'd totally be interested" Bo

That's awesome. I'm glad Busch Gardens looks so amazing during the holiday season. I love it when parks dish out the extra bucks to fancy up a park during the holiday season. The more lights the better in my opinion. And so Snow World...Freaking Amazing! I love that idea and I bet some Florida peeps are going to love it. Great update! Jimmy "We had snow in Tucson in 2007" Bo

I voted for Coaster Expedition. While I truly love the RAW DVDs, I feel that the world is due for a Coaster Expedition DVD. Although I have no idea what TPR trip would be in the next Coaster Expedition DVD but I don't think it really matters. I have yet to see a Coaster Expedition DVD that I haven't enjoyed. Hell, I haven't seen a TPR DVD (or VHS) that I haven't enjoyed. Jimmy "Bring on the Coaster Expedition" Bo

Lagoon Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love Lagoon. Whether it's considered a small park or a large park I really don't care. All I care about is having fun at a park and when I went to Lagoon I had a blast. They had a great mix of family rides and thrill rides. Even if this coaster is a 200ft monster or another family coaster, I still think Lagoon is a great park for anyone to enjoy. I will definitely be heading back to Lagoon with the family even if this new coaster doesn't pan out. Jimmy "I love Wicked Spider Fireball Dragon Bat" Bo -
Do you buy DVDs, Blu-Rays, or Stream Video?
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I might be in the minority here but I only watch DVD's. We do not have a Blu-Ray player and I don't have a smart phone or tablet to watch streaming videos. I have all the RAW videos on DVD as well as most the the Coaster Expeditions and Coaster Footages on DVD. The ones I don't have on DVD I have on old school VHS back in the day when TPR was sending them out via VHS. Jimmy "Totally old school" Bo -
Awesome stuff so far Chuck. I can't wait to see what else was in store for you in China and read your hilarious comments about the totally normal place that is called China. Jimmy "Did you pee in that hole on the Great Wall?" Bo

Shane, that's freaking awesome! I actually plan on making it up to Cowabunga Bay in Salt Lake City sometime next year and I'm really excited for it. Now, I'm super excited that you are building another one! HOLY CRAP! Hey, if you ever want to build one in Tucson (because our longest water slide is at a hotel) keep me posted and the engineering firm I work for can totally hook you up for some cheap plans for land development. Hell, I'll do all the work for free as long as we can get an amazing water park down here. Jimmy "Congrats Shane!" Bo

^They gear their haunt stuff more to kids now. I was there the last weekend in September and it was the first weekend of their "Spooktacular" stuff. It really looked amazing for kids from about 3 to 10 and they were giving away free candy! You didn't even need to buy an extra ticket or anything, FREE CANDY! And as far as the killer whale goes that has a giant gash, it wasn't performing in the show but it was definitely active in its area behind the main pool while the show was going on. I feel bad for the guy cuz he just wants to perform. Plus, a trainer was back there with him the entire time the show was going on. On another side note, I finally rode Manta and I was really impressed with it. I think it is a great addition to the park and the projection screen in the beginning was pretty amazing. Not to mention some awesome pops of airtime throughout the ride. Sea World has definitely improved over the years. Jimmy "I love free candy" Bo

The UofA Wildcats will run the table, beat the Ducks this weekend and then Stanford and USC later on in the year. Suck it Ducks and Trojan condoms. Jimmy "Our new coach might actually keep his job" Bo

Next up for the UofA Wildcats is a romping of the Oregon Ducks! Well, one can hope. Anyway, let's hope that the cats can keep up with the ducks since the cats have a pretty impressive new offense scheme. Jimmy "GO WILDCATS and beat Justin's Ducks" Bo

NEWS: Wet'n'Wild is coming to Sydney!
JimmyBo replied to XYZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This looks amazing! This will definitely be a stop I'll have to take next time I'm in Australia. I still think it's pretty awesome how Australia as a whole really didn't get a lot of new rides for theme parks or water rides in a couple years and then right after TPR goes to Australia they bust out all this awesomeness. Way to go Australia on making want to come back and and see your beautiful country again. Jimmy "Still missed seeing a duck-billed platypus" Bo -
Nice trip report! I'm glad to see that this park is still operating with some nice crowds. I'm interested to hear that the SLC is smooth...I have yet to be on one that is smooth and people claim to be smooth. Maybe when they moved it, it got rid of all the headbanging crap that SLC's are known for. I hope to make it up to this park some day. Great pics. Thanks for the report. Jimmy "I've stepped 3 feet into the state of Michigan" Bo

Glad to see SCBB getting an awesome ride. I love these types of rides and the one at Lagoon in Utah (Spider) was so awesome and we got it to spin like crazy the whole time. It was me and my dad facing backwards and 2 young kids in the front. After the drop and first turn toward the first brake-run it was hands up or hold on because we were completely dizzy after the ride. I have never been able to make it to SCBB but if there is a BAB and it fits with my schedule then I will totally be there. Jimmy "I love me some spinners" Bo

Theme Park Review's Italy 2012 Tour!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome reports so far guys. I'm loving the videos of all the rides that i will probably not ride any time soon. Keep the amazing pics of rides AND FOOD coming. How are the Italian people's attitudes? I remember some people saying that they weren't the nicest bunch last time TPR invaded Italy. Jimmy "Yay Mozzarella balls!" Bo
