Toverland Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to turbolaaf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is awesome news! I'm glad Toverland is going more "outside the box" lately with the addition of Booster Bike, then Troy and now this awesomeness. I really enjoy River Quest at Phantasialand so I hope that the new rapids ride will deliver. When I visited Toverland I was surprised by it and how much fun I had there and how friendly the staff was. This is a great step for that theme park. Jimmy "TROY" Bo -

Awesome report. I've always wanted to do another zip-line experience since I did one in Puerto Vallarta a couple years ago. It's great to see that the states has some amazing zip-line experiences that are more than just one long zip-line across a river or down a hill (those bore the crap outta me). I like to experience at a couple hours of walking through the woods and up in the trees doing multiple zip-lines. Next time I'm in the area (and maybe by then the kid will be old enough) we will check this out. It truly looks like awesome scenery. Jimmy "I love braking with my hand" Bo -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Amazing report and amazing pictures. This looks like an amazing addition to Hersheypark and it looks like Hersheypark and Intamin have become quite fond of each other (which is not a bad thing at all). Looks like Intamin has really stepped up their game with the new trains and that layout is amazing. Packs an awesome punch in such a small area. The only thing I found wrong with this report was that there was no beer pictures! What's a Derek Trip Report without a single beer picture?!?! Must have been an off day. PortAventura Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This ride looks amazing. It looks like B&M maybe getting back to their glory days of non-trim, hauling @$$ rides with some awesome g-forces. The splashdown definitely looks impressive. The only splashdown coaster I have been on is Sheikra and while it was cool to watch, it was pretty lame as a rider. With this effect it looks AMAZING! I also really love this layout. I think B&M and the guys at Port Aventura did a great job at placement of the coaster and elements throughout the ride. I really loved Port Aventura when I went there with TPR and this ride looks like it is a great addition to an already fantastic park! Jimmy "I need to get back to Spain" Bo BTW, Hanno...AWESOME PICS! -
This is some awesome news! I really enjoyed Cliff's as a nice family park and it has an amazing wooden coaster. With this new addition I think it is a perfect fit for the park. As far as where they will place it? It's not like it has a huge footprint...it's a freakin straight line. They can butt it up against the any of the edges of the park and it would fit fine. I think Cliff's did an amazing jb at getting this ride. Jimmy "I love Cliff's" Bo

I love how the year after TPR goes to Australia, almost all the parks have now decided to either get a new ride or upgrade some existing rides. Wasn't there like a 5 year span of nothing really happening at the parks in Australia? Awesome. Jimmy "I miss the Lethal Weapon theming" Bo Seriously! Who theme's a ride to a Mel Gibson movie? COME ON!

All I can say is "HOLY CRAP!" Is this not the best, most themed, most awesome, most insane looking GCI out there? Can anyone name a better one? Seriously? I can not wait to get off my fat butt and get out to Europa Park and try this ride out. Of course, that's not happening anytime soon but I can still dream. Looks like Europa has got one amazing new ride on their hands. Jimmy "Way to go Europa!" Bo

I am rather sad about this park finally giving the demolition crew the "OK" to destroy this park. I do like demolition and blowing stuff up but to see this park go like this is rather sad. I really enjoyed this park as a kid and teenager but I don't think I visited it in the past 7 years. I hope Wild Rivers plans on putting in something awesome to take place. I wonder what the slides would feel like if you went down them now? Jimmy "Bombay Blasters!" Bo

TPR's Orlando Halloween Trip of Awesomeness
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome update! This park really does look amazing. I really enjoyed the Legoland California and visited it quite a bit (since it was 10 min from my house and my sister worked there for a summer) and I'm really glad Florida got one. That story about Renate was awesome. I totally remember that weekend and how we were going to have a baby shower but then Kristen came. It's awesome that you guys got to me up with her. Jimmy "Don't eat LEGO's" Bo -
This really is some awesome stuff Larry. It's also great to hear that people are stopping by and checking out the shop. I hope this place gets some good business. I can't wait to see the final Haunted House walkthrough when it's all complete...it looks amazing! Jimmy "Gotta love the old Haunted House attractions" Bo

It was really no big deal Robb but on the Steelies disc instead of Chapter 2 being Superman Escape it was Goliath and then Superman Escape was after it and on the Woodies disc Yankee Cannonball was after the Comet. I might have some "Random" setting on my DVD player that I didn't know about but all in all it didn't make a difference. The DVD was still EPIC and the ending will always be remembered as the best ending to a DVD that I didn't need a tissue for. Jimmy "Coaster PORN" Bo

Got the new RAW DVD in the mail on Saturday and just finished watching it. I must say that the ending to both DVD's was rather hilarious. It definitely kept me watching for more to happen. The other thing that was a little weird with the DVD's was that some of the chapters didn't match the chapter listing on the back of the DVD case. No worries since I never really go by the chapters on the back of the case since I always watch it all the way through. Great videos guys! TPR kicks some major @$$ and RAW has never been better. If some of you don't have this copy then GET IT NOW! It's that that AWESOME! Jimmy " I love me some RAW coasters" Bo

Sant NarcĂs Fair (Girona - Spain)
JimmyBo replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why can't more fairs be like this?!?! Maybe they should start bringing huge, tall fake trees and plant them on the normal asphalt/sand that most fairs are on. I don't think I have ever seen a fair in the woods quite like this. This is amazing. We don't have many trees here in Southern AZ (hell, we hardly have any green vegetation or water) so this was pretty awesome to see. Thanks for posting these pictures! Maybe parks should steal the idea for the Tower of Tower from this fair! Jimmy "I miss green trees and water" Bo -

Awesome stuff again Chuck! Legoland Florida looks like a great park and I really hope it turns into a park that will be around for years. Having Legoland California be my home park for so long I hope that this one in Florida has as much success as the one in Cali. Jimmy "Chucks captions are always the best" Bo -

Awesome stuff so far Chuck! Have you experienced a Haunted House that was as epic and amazing as the one in Australia? I would have thought the one in Old Town might have given it a run for it's money. Love the captions and can't wait to see " crusin' " pics! Jimmy "Chuck Rocks!" Bo -
Ron Toomer has Passed Away
JimmyBo replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am extremely about this news because I loved Ron Toomer's crazy contraptions and coat hanger elements he was able to put onto rides. Sure, some of Arrow Dynamics's ride were not really the smoothest of rides but some of them truly were engineering marvels and I think Mr Toomer had a great deal in created those rides. He truly will be missed and I pray for his family and the company (even though it is no longer Arrow Dynamics). Jimmy "Viper is my favorite Ron Toomer coat hanger creation" Bo -
I love how right after TPR goes to the land down under, some of the parks get news rides after their newest ride before TPR went was built like 4 years ago. The steepest drop in the Southern Hemisphere looks pretty awesome. I wonder where they are going to put this coaster in the park. I think Warner Bros was a good park but it was definitely missing 1 or 2 thrilling rides and now they got 1 coming. If I ever make it back down to the land of the kangaroos and wombats I will definitely visit this park again. Jimmy "Duck-billed Platypus is the best animal EVER!" Bo

Getting back to the new ride...I think since it's themed around driving out in the Black Forest or whatever it's called and it's going to be in Oktoberfest Village...are we assuming that we are driving drunk out in the Forest after having too much beer at Oktoberfest? That sort of sounds like some theming to be found at Bon Bon Land. All you need is a dog farting at the end of the ride and you got a winner! But seriously, since Busch Gardens is a family theme park I don't think they will theme this around driving home drunk from Oktoberfest. Jimmy "Beer is good but not while driving" Bo

Knott's Haunt Event! Sept 24th, 2011

I wish we weren't moving that weekend otherwise I would have been there in a heartbeat! Jimmy "I need my Knott's Haunt fix" Bo -
I'm sending in my money now! I feel sorry for these hippos and I think they need to join the Happy Hippos in It's a Small World. Plus, instead of a rolling boulder coming at you on Indiana Jones, imagine a giant Hippo rolling at you. I think I would like to see an artist rendering of that! Jimmy "Hippos need saving, buy a shirt now" Bo
