Heide Park Discussion Thread

Go to Hansa Park instead, it’s way better and Kärnan is amazing That it is! I went there last September, actually. There were probably less than 50 people in the park, no joke, and we rode Kärnan roughly 15 times -

I'll be in Hamburg in mid-May. Would it be worth it to visit Heide Park without Colossus? -

^Last time I was at Glenwood, they didn’t have the S&S swing. The swing they did have looked like a homemade science project It was fun at least. Nice to see how much the park has expanded! -

I lived in Colorado for a bit. You wouldn’t believe how many people think Mind Eraser is the greatest coaster in the world. -

I’m loving all of your updates!!! I was in Germany last month and absolutely fell in love with everything about it. The people, the food, architecture, transportation, just everything! We also went to Hansa Park and had a great time so it’s fun seeing your pics of one of those “rare” parks that doesn’t get much international fame. I was only back in america for a week before I booked my next flight back for this coming May. Keep the awesome updates coming! -

Any idea on when we can expect this to open? I haven't seen an official opening date yet. June potentially??? -
I flew on WOW from Paris to Toronto this last Monday. My flight was $200. I was worried about traveling on a budget airline for such a big journey. All WOW flights stop in Iceland, so the trip was divided between a 3 hour flight and a 6 hour flight, with a one-hour stop in between. I have to say, I was very impressed with this airline. While I did have my bag under the seat in front of me, I could rearrange it or put it in my lap and I was able to completely stretch out my legs. I’m 5’11” with long legs and I struggle with leg room all the time, so this was a huge surprise. Every seat has the foldable headrest, reclining seats (funny I have to mention this, but budget airlines are taking this feature out,) and power outlets! No free drinks or food, but eh. For such cheap fares, it’s worth it. I am SO excited that WOW is flying out of Cleveland next year. To the European members on this board, this is a super cheap way to get to Cedar Point! Many of WOW’s low fares come from promotions. Sign up for their emails and you’ll get deals all the time. Usually their deals are for trips way in advance which is more helpful than airlines saying “fly this weekend for cheap!” Icelandair also announced they’re flying out of Cleveland next year. I’m planning a trip back to Europe in May and I found a roundtrip flight on WOW to amsterdam for $430, but that includes no bags. But Icelandair has a flight from Cleveland WITH bags (and I think food?) for $480. So the options are getting better and cheaper!

I visited Liseberg last night and had a fantastic night. It rained almost the entire night including a thunderstorm that shut everything down for a few hours, but once it was cleared up, lines were non-existent. Helix was fantastic! -

I'm currently at Hansa Park and it is dead. There are probably more employees than guests right now. We actually had to wait at Kärnan because they couldn't dispatch until we had more riders. Wonderful park, but is this normal?? -
"Tiny Planet" - Like them or not?
christianscoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They're definitely unique but I'd stop short of saying it's awesome. I think if the picture was focused on one specific element (such as a face) and everything is distorted around it, then it could be more useful -
What is your next park?

Holiday Park and then Europa Park, next month! -
My grandparents stayed at that motel 6 on two separate visits and it's just as good as it seems. There's really no catch or anything to hide. It's very inexpensive and it looks just like the pics. It's a roughly 10-minute drive to CP, and an easy drive at that. Sandusky's main strip with restaurants and stores (Milan Rd/US-250) is about five minutes away, taking Route 2. If you're looking for some of the better Sandusky hotels away from the run-down ones near CP, there's a cluster of them on US-250 just south of Route 2. There's a Hampton, Fairfield, Comfort Inn, and a few others. Not luxury, but definitely a step up from some of the hotels in the city. They're about 10 minutes from CP as well.

What are Fridays in September like? Do they get fairly crowded? We wanted to visit on a Thursday as they were open on Thursdays in September last year, but this year, they aren't.
