One of the trains was having something repaired recently. Just a few days ago, there was fiberglass missing from a single car. That could’ve been it. OR I’m thinking most likely short staffing. It could’ve changed in the past few years but I recall that they needed 6 ride ops checking seats to run 3 trains. Staffing hasn’t been too good this year so it wouldn’t surprise me if they only had 4 ops checking seats, thus 2 trains. I could be wrong though.

It’s clear you’re a KI fanboy and there’s a fun, light rivalry between both parks fans, but it’s really not that serious. If Vengeance, their star attraction, is only running one train, there’s a good reason why, whatever it may be. It will always run three, unless something is preventing it from doing so. They don’t run it with one train for funsies. It’s miserable for both guests and employees. Also, you say everything is running *near* the bare minimum amount of trains. Let’s think about this for a second. Most major coasters at CP run 3 trains. So if they’re running near the bare minimum, but not the actual minimum, they’re running 2 trains. By this logic, that’s “near” maximum too. I don’t think two trains is unreasonable, especially in the evening. And again, they won’t run less than maximum unless there’s a reason to do so.

GateKeeper is the most popular ride in the entire park, next to Millennium force. They wouldn’t close it because of staffing. It takes priority. They just run it with less staff when they need. GateKeeper has a wind meter at the top of the lift and it’s wired directly into the rides control panel. When the wind is too high at the top of the ride, it won’t let them run it. Seriously. As for “premium,” I have zero idea what this means. Never heard of a “premium” ticket or premium riders.

Also new this year... Magnum now has yellow padding on the lap bars. It’s clearly there just to make it easier for the operators to see, but I’m sure it’ll be a more comfortable ride for a lot of people. Personally, I tighten my seatbelt on it so I never really have thigh discomfort, but I still welcome this change!

I rode Steel Vengeance today. The metal detector is located at the bottom of the stairs in the main line. The Fast lane metal detector is at the top of the stairs, in the station. They’ll stamp your hand if you have items that must go into the pouch, such as keys and phones. The pouch is easily accessible between your legs on the train and it’s very roomy. If you have zippered pockets, your items ARE allowed to be stored there. However, if your jacket or shorts/pants only have buttons, then your items must go into the pouch. Zippered pockets only.

I just realized the blue train in the model is backwards! Haha -

The article says there are plans to relocate the park. It has been relocated before. Who knows if they’ll actually do it though. The only real loss in that park would be the arrow shuttle loop. -
What a coincidence! I was on the train in front of you that rolled back! I was going to wait for the last train (especially because I was in the front row) but due to the breakdown, cycling of an empty train, then the trains sitting still for so long, I knew the first train sent was gonna roll back so I rode that one instead. It was so worth it. My first ever rollback haha HAHA OMG! So you're the one I saw run back to the second to last train. I couldn't understand why you did it but I figured the chance of a roll back was the reason. That's so funny. Well I must thank you then. Was awesome to take your spot in the front row. Hope you enjoyed your roll back Haha. Indeed, that was me! I figured giving up front row was worth it for a roll back. It wasn’t even a guaranteed rollback (obviously you can’t guarantee it will happen) but I knew the conditions were just right for it.

Just checked wait times on queue-times.com and it appears almost every major coaster is closed. Looks like a storm is rolling in but it's also extremely windy in Sandusky and it came out of nowhere. If you look at the CP webcams, you can tell that Power Tower (where the cams are) is swaying. Also, to anyone who likes to look at public snaps on Snapchat, there’s a pretty cool video on there shot from Mavericks line showing the trees going crazy. That wind is intense as hell.

^I rode it about 6 times last night. One was trimmed hard but most of them were only slightly trimmed, to the point where you could barely feel it at all. It’s overcast and a little chilly today, as it was last night as well, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the ride isn’t trimming as hard as the trains might be going slower to begin with.

The thing I love about these Mack launch coasters (I've been on Helix and Blue Fire) is that they aren't absolutely extreme, balls-to-the wall thrill machines. They're just downright fun and highly re-rideable. That's exactly what this hobby is about - FUN. It doesn't have to be the tallest, fastest, etc. This is my most anticipated ride for next year! -
What if they were waiting for a part? What if it’s a larger repair that required work to be done in a shop first? What if they were working in the electrical room? Or in the station? Just because you don’t personally see something to your liking doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. CP isn’t going to keep their star attraction down any longer than it needs to be. After all, this is the park that will open rides with 5 minutes left in the day.
