  1. dont forget Corkscrew: worlds first inverting Yea thats wrong. The first inverting was was invented back in the early 1900's. Though you also have Knotts Corkscrew coaster being the first modern coaster to invert riders. Also, Stealth passed Air by 2 years on as the first flying coaster. ok. i stand corrected
  2. it depends on the type of airtime needed/wanted. Divers have floater air time, while some vekomas have some extreme ejector air time. personally, inverted coasters dont have any airtime, i'd have to go with either steel sit downs in general
  3. didnt think so, once again, it'd be too much hard work and too much money spent... will they continue with the style of theming already there, or will it suddenly change and look strange?
  4. /\ i hope they dont integrate the brands for the sake of TP... *shudders at the thought* although, ripping up the scenery and everything will prove stupid as it would take a lot of time and money, so i dont see that happening what i do see happening is inter-park advertising, coupons to the other parks, maybe they'll take away the annual passes, or just add all the parks together... would be interesting to see how it develops first... fancy hooking me up with some
  5. didnt know it was haunted... heh, it really is a curse!!!
  6. Um, what? That's not even close to being true. tis what i heard from the lips of the owner at Alton Towers...
  7. dont forget Corkscrew: worlds first inverting Nemesis: one of the first inverting inverts Air was a prototype, doesnt mean to say it sucks, it just doesnt compare to the others
  8. awwww!!! shes sooo cute!!!! sweet name!!! congrats!!!!!
  9. Well when they just bought Gardaland last year, a coaster for 2008 was announced very soon after they bought it. It is said to be something like Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland so hopefully new coasters will be themed really well in their parks. well, i hope they do introduce something solid; not a record-breaker, but another B&M, either floorless or a launched B&M Flyer... that would be interesting
  10. probably, but it should be better, otherwise im left with effing Adventure Island
  11. noooooo!!! oh you have got to be joking!!! (i managed to prevent any profanities) ummm... does anyone know anything about this new company... now that ive read it wholly, it truly doesnt seem to be too bad. i hope some other company buys it, Tussauds were doing sooooo well!!! will this change any of the up-coming plans? 0_o
  12. Braindead... a true horror/gorefest...
  13. go to www.bbc.co.uk and search for the lunar eclipse photos! some are extra-ordinary!
  14. -vekoma rides -listening to slow-ish rock songs and sleeping with them playing... its really relaxing, things like End of Heartache by Killswitch Engage, Bloodwork - 36 CrazyFists and the likes... -singing along really badly with them (i cant sing to save the world) -i liked Snakes on a Plane... wtf???
  15. Nah. Prince Charles has no real power. Even if he becomes King, he'll still have no power. The monarchy is ceremonial now. He's just expressing his opinion, which is perfectly within his rights. I do think that the royal family should actively encourage more healthy lifestyles, but probably not in this fashion. True. He's got a lot of work set out for him... becoming an MP, the chosen party elected, becoming leader, winning a General Election, staying in offce for as long as it takes... yeah, give it a couple of years... its most likely blown over already, if not, next month will bring something important up and it'll disappear...
  16. i read about this this morning... it made me laugh a lot... if they do ban Macky-D's, they'll have to ban every other fast food type restaurants as well... doubt it will happen though, a whole franchise and company against one person? even if he is a Prince, its highly unlikely to occur. heh, Elissa: youre gonna have to import some into England next time you visit
  17. not even a couple of decades really... it pretty much all happened in my lifetime... wow... extreme changes so quickly!!!
  18. Thorpe Park and Adventure Island. Thorpe has an entirely new skyline since from when i was 3 when it used to be the pirate ship (now Mr Monkeys Banana Boat) and a bumper boat ride... same for AI... it used to have one of the first enterprises where the pods would tilt to the 90* angle rather than using gravity... it got a few minor rollercoasters, then what appeared? Rage. Chessington went down hill last year. The loss of the Samurai meant i had very little to go back for... Dragons Fury is always closed when i go
  19. HI IM BARRY SCOTT! that one with the air freshener in the toilet little kid: oh no!!! mum: what? kid: its all gone its all gone its all gone mum: whats all gone? *kid send out a picture under the door* two things: 1) how does the boy push the image under the door when he's sitting on the toilet? 2) can mums walk through walls? 'Hi. I'm Ooma. My friends call me Ooma. You can watch me any time you want, slow me down, speed me up or even... *wait 10 minutes while her earrings settle, only to notice her head moves soooo much* pause me.' Virgin Broadband grrrrrrrrrr!
  20. Sony=Vekoma of the gaming industry :\
  21. if thats all true... bloody hell... were all screwed
  22. This was my first Haunted Swing ride too, and it sure did freak me out. i knew the legend, how it works (not very well though) and the overall effect, but i didnt expect it to be that realistic!!! it actually at one point had me believe that we were actually upside down! Ice 'thank God for Sensory Deprivation' Dragon
  23. disappointing? I'd give up riding rollercoasters to get the opportunity to do a front row outside seat on that ride!!! speaking of which, where is it again?
  24. same reasons, i made sure there was at least 1 click before being fully locked, failing to realize that they had elasticity (if i can use that word) in the restraint. I honestly did nearly fall out!!! bloody fun though, full of floater airtime, but i was expecting extreme airtime, so a bit of a let down, although the peak angle is insane and i nearly lost my necklace lol. they really need to improve the cycle, if not open up both swings to improve throughput.
