  1. Ok, I'll be the first to post it...TRIMS!!! Really though, this coaster looks pretty cool, I really like the white. And, although the lay-out isn't spectacular, just the scale of it is impressive, and I'm sure the speed will be there too. I wonder if they will have the same issues with wheels as I305?
  2. I am quite familiar with the lot, but, am I the only one that thinks the proposed area is awfully small for a "premier stadium"?
  3. Inverted, 0-g/floater airtime hill, like Goliath at SFMM, only up-side down. I know its similar to a zero-g roll, but I imagine it more stretched out, so you spend more time actually inverted.
  4. ^^ yeah, I don't think this is GOOD for CGA. I know CF was fighting the inclusion of the stadium on this past ballot, so they obviously didn't want this to happen, why?, who knows. In the few articles I have read, it seemed CF was most concerned about the loss of revenue on 49er game days, stating they wanted the team(49ers) to pay CGA "x" amount of dollars on game days to make up for the loss in ticket sales, or something like that. I pass by the park frequently, and still can't figure out which parking lot they intend on using for the stadium. I have also read that a new parking structure would be necessary to accommodate the masses. In the end, who knows what this really means for the future of CGA, it COULD be bargaining power for CF...I can hear something like: "let the 49ers build a new stadium, and let us build a new coaster"...only time will tell.
  5. ^^^^Nope, never got on Zonga, it was already done before I moved back I think. It could have been the most rare coaster I could've ridden...damnit! EDIT: well, except flashback of course
  6. Went today, Haunted Castle NOT open. Bummer. Giant Dipper was great! Even with kidney stones.
  7. I've always been a fan of the "space dives" on the now defunct Flashback, and X2's "half-half". Sheikra's immelman is near perfect.
  8. Sorry guys, but I had to cancel at the last minute. I was hoping that by canceling this event, I would have the time to make it to BAB, now it seems, I wont have the time to do either.
  9. Ceder Point "Pirate Ride". It seems Ceder Fair has always had talent in naming their rides!
  10. Shark Tums wrote: I also remembering them saying they were the only Six Flags that implemented a specific "refurbishment-down time",the same few months every year when the entire ride would be over-hauled, as opposed to repairing things through-out the season on an "as needed" basis. In addition, I think they said the end of that refurbishment is just before WCB, how convenient.
  11. Really great pics! Some of the most intriguing I've seen yet. IMO they show the intensity of the ride the best, ie: in picture 10 everyone is firmly grasping the handles, not a single hand up! And the picture showing the rapid 180 degree transition in a single trains' length, those quick snaps with small pops of airtime look amazing! Another thing I noticed in the POV, I really like the small jog to the right at the bottom of the first drop before the first high-speed right turn, Probably a heart-line\smoothing engineering thinga-ma-jiggy, but me likes! I had to add this coaster to my "must ride" list. Great photos indeed.
  12. This sounds like it could be really good! Titusville wouldn't be my fist pic though,it is close to KSC, but with only 4 last launches scheduled I'm not sue what will become of it. Add to that a projected cost of only $30 million I'm not sure how well it will be pulled off. Regardless, I really like the sound of it and seems they plan on offering quite an array of ammenities!! Count me in, I'll go!
  13. Any chance of one of the surprises being 50% off Q-Bots again?
  14. Definitely interested! 6 Hrs of ERT! Any idea as to how many AAA members will be attending? And I'm assuming its open to all levels of AAA membership? Lets try to get something together.
  15. Well, I'm out of words. I can't formulate a better sentance then, "holy @%#&$*^ #$&% this kicked donkeys ass!" I apologize for the profanity but its the only way I can word it. It was my 3rd WCB this year and of course it exceeded all expectations, My girlfriend is now just as much of a coaster nerd as I am, thanks to you guys! I would add more . but everyone else has covered it. From Robb and Elissa to the folks at Rideworld, all the staff at Magic Mountain, William, Jay, Tim, Neil, you guys are all under appreciated! Ride-ops, food vendors, everyone...THANK YOU!!!! see ya' next year! Dan "thank you ,thank you, thank you!" Strickland P.S. Screw that kid that felt it was necessary to complain about the Knotts day, People like that don't deserve your royalty treatment! BANISHED!
  16. I definitely sympathize for those injured, however it seems like major changes must be made. Accidents are called accidents for a reason, sometimes things just happen. Disney used to have the media "hush-hush" treatment in the past, where incidents like this wouldn't even be covered by the media. Now days, it seems like the spot-light is on them. I just hope they're prepared, a few more of these "accidents", and surely they will lose all safety reputation they had going for them. IMO Disney should really start being held accountable for injuries in their work place. For far to long have major incidents been swept under the rug. I hope the public looses their " Disney Magic blinders" and starts realizing what really goes on "back-stage".
  17. ^ Thats what i was thinkin' too. However the trains were so odd, I thought it might have been an engineering "form follows function" thing. I think with all the advancements in coaster technology, someone could re-engineer the ride with better reliability, and less turbulence. Also, wasn't Flashback one of the first coasters to "heart-line" its track?
  18. I'm not sure I could call flashback junk. It was quirky, could sometimes bust your ear open, had funny "can't see over the front" trains(if anyone can shed light on the purpose of the high front, I never understood it). It was a FUN ride though, sure, it had some head-bangin, but riding defensively seemed to work for me. Perhaps it was the uniqueness of the ride, but I will always have a place in my heart for it! Dan "resurrect Flashback" Strickland.
  19. so true Scott! It was too unique to let it fall into the hated group though., I still had fun on it!
  20. Maybe I'm just beating a dead topic here, but really, whats up with this ride. They've had it open for plenty long now to have operations figured out. The ride still breaks down 7 times daily, only 3 of 6 trains on the track, and the moving loading platform seems to have been forgotten about. In addition all of the other media gimmicks seemed to have fallen through the cracks, I have only heard of the single on-ride camera and audio being implemented. EDIT UPDATE: -updated number of times broken down today from 5-7 times. -single rider line is ignored. -only 1 train on course at a time, 2 trains always in station. We can now officially tag this ride as FAIL!
  21. ..."working with Intamin"...+ "family coaster" + "we don"t have one yet" = large, first of its kind, spinning coaster to debut at Magic Mountain. I'm callin' it...in my dreams...
  22. I've only been on rip-saw one time when IOA first opened, I vaguely remember the drop and airtime being fairly intense. Does anyone have pictures of the alterations, before and after shots?
  23. Just an after-thought here, what are the park regulations on tailgating? I have small table-top propane grill, and was thinking about little dinner before night ERT. what are the chances of getting away with that?
  24. The pictures of the crates posted on the previous page look kinda photoshopped to me... who would really put that much "teaser" information on the side of a generic shipping container?
