  1. Buzz bars do properly secure riders. They were the standard issue woodie restraint for 25+ years and many woodies still use them (Phoenix, Thunderbolt, Cornball, Cyclops, etc.). If Cyclops hasn't ejected a rider yet, then buzz bars are certainly adequate. The problem is when dumb ass riders stand up. This isn't the restraint's fault. Do you blame a building when some idiot jumps off it? And ratcheting lap bars don't circumvent suicidal idiot riders either (Raven accident).
  2. ^I played for a while, but nobody was on. Rainbow Road still sucks.
  3. Sure it will pay them back. I think most adults would rather the youth be in good schools as opposed to out in streets breaking into their car.
  4. Yeah, but Knoebels already has a very capable wooden coaster designer in house. It seems highly unlikely that they would hire TGG. Not to mention TGG seems to get involved with bleeding edge, marquee coasters that wouldn't really fit in at Knoebels.
  5. Both of the Intamin Mega-Lite coasters, the one in Japan and the one in Denmark, operate with just lap bars. If OTSRs ever became the norm on hypers and woodies, I'd find a new hobby. Don't really see that happening though.
  6. It's OK. The Voyage people are just anxious because they know T-Express is about to dethrone their precious on Mitch's Poll this year.
  7. I'm with you on this. Wildcat is great fun and one of the best things to do at Cedar Point. If it didn't always have an obnoxious line, I'd marathon it. I'm of a similar height and didn't have a problem fitting into the cars. I think the back seat is a tighter squeeze than the front seat is, but it's totally fine.
  8. Didn't a similar thing happen with Lisebergbanan a few years back? I think the problem turned out be that the park was lubricating the anti-rollback dogs to reduce noise on the lift hill.
  9. Yeah, value wasn't really a consideration for me so much as quality of the experience. Getting unlimited rides on arguably the most well balanced coaster collection in the country does it for me.I couldn't believe how much fun I had there that day. Knoebels does have better food. No doubt about it. But it's still park food and nothing I would go out of my way to get normally. Damn it! Now I have to plan a trip to SFGAdv and Knoebels. I can't take not going this year.
  10. Agree 500%. And I've got a similar ranking to you, except without the Balder credit (#1 ET, #2 Phoenix). And nothing else comes even close to those two. I can't agree with this. Have you tried SFGAdv with a Gold Q-Bot? I felt like a crackhead in a crack factory. Best coaster day ever.
  11. Maybe there's something to that. I guess if you don't like riding a single woodie that produces more airtime than every coaster in most parks combined, you might not like Knoebels. Or if you don't like riding damn near the best flat ride collection ever.
  12. Funny you mention this. I *love* Avalanche. It's in my top 5. I went into J2 with huge expectations when I rode it last July, but the thing is so damn rough. It beats your back as bad as Predator does. It's not really any big surprise as the lay out is in some ways more insane than Voyage's is, but it's at a rinky dink little park that couldn't possibly maintain such a beast. A week or two after we rode J2, Clementon had to stop running it indefinitely for emergency maintenance in the middle of the season. I'd love to see more S&S Power woodies that are like Avalanche.
  13. Glad you enjoyed yourself at Knoebels. I'm still kicking myself for only allocating 2 hours there last year. I should have just skipped Hershey that day because we all know who wears the pants as far as easternish PA parks goes.
  14. Yeah, Scott. Give us the goods.
  15. Not soon enough. J2 was one of the worst things I ever rode at the worst park I've ever been to.
  16. It's true. We went there on a Friday morning in July last year and the park was DEAD for the first few hours. We got all the credits, except for Two Face (closed), in 3-4 hours and that included several SROS re-rides. If all the rides actually opened with the park, you could probably get all the credits in 2 hours if you were smart about it.
  17. Very weak floater airtime at that. Nothing like the super long bursts you get on SFOG Goliath.
  18. ^^That article doesn't make any sense. Paramount didn't re-brand anything because they no longer own Kings Island.
  19. Yeah, but is the transportation situation really such that they should spend all that money? If they want more guests in DHS and AK, why not put the money into the parks? I mean I'd love the monorail extension and would go again just to see how it works. But I'm not sure it's the most optimal use of their money considering what else they could do it with.
  20. Although that would be SO AWESOME, I can't see it ever happening. Not when they could nearly build a fifth gate for what it would cost to build out the monorail. Edit: So, Scott, if they build a monorail loop around all 4 parks are you going to go all Mantis Man and ride the loop 20,000 times?
  21. Wow, bragging about criminal behavior. YOU ROCK DUDE!$#!@#$!@
  22. This one is at Le Cellier: In the front room where the wine racks are.
  23. This is very true, but by your own suggestion we shouldn't really believe you either.
  24. ^So, is the airtime all floater? Is there any ejector air on this ride?
