I've only been on a looping coaster once and I do like loops, they give an opposite feeling to 'airtime' (rather than being forced out of you seat, you are forced into it), from what I've heard and seen, California Screamin' would be a great choice for you first looper.

I don't know about worst or best but the a good one'would' be Knott's if they could be arsed to finish it off rather than use pages from there old website. Example of a complete page. And an example of a downright lazy page Another website that could be great is Drayton manors, but is let down badly due to its poor maintainance. For example links on there homepage don't work, thats really professional. Try and click on the pictured links. Knotts and Drayton manor, anyone notice anything about these parks... (sorry for digging up an old topic BTW)

Great photo TR and nice pictures of the Mountain sidewinder. Does anyone know who built the Sidewinder or did they build it themselves? Again thanks for the TR! -
Knightmare Media Day (and side trip to BPB)
dr.gumbo replied to fudgey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do, infact they look miles better than the Ultimates trains! Thanks for the fantastic update, Knightmare looks like it will save this park from what 'was' a certain death, its nice to see a park saved for once rather than destroyed. I wonder what they'll add next. -
Best Herschend park
dr.gumbo replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh so I guess Crossroads doesnt count? Just because its coasterless doesnt not make it a cool park.... That Herschend owns/runs. Anyways.. I have been to Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, and Crossroads. SDC wins.. yay The crossroads? To be honest I've never heard of it and I did check Herschends site in case I missed any... www.hfecorp.com/Brands/ ... I basically counted the parks with 'theme park' underneath it however if your favorite Herschend park is'nt a theme park you could say it anyway, I dont mind! I'd like to see others opinions! EDIT- Are you talking about Stone mountain park? -
I've been wondering lately about which Herschend park is the best and since I've never been to a Herschend park I've been looking at photo's and reports but I cant work out which ones better so I decided to ask for others opinions! (For those who dont know the Herschend parks are Silver dollar city, Dollywood and Celebration city) I'm guessing that Celebration city will be the least popular (it still looks like a fantastic park) but I cant have no idea about the other two ( Dollywood and Silver dollar city) (I did a search and found nothing but if its already been posted, tell me) Thanks!

Thats the downside to building a gimmickless coaster unfortunatly. -
New Pleasure land
dr.gumbo replied to coaster-inc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Except this did'nt cost $20,00,000+ to build and its using the pay-per-ride method. -
Favorite Morgan hyper
dr.gumbo replied to MisterP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hav'nt ridden any morgan coasters so I can't put a vote in. However, from what I've heard 'Phantoms revenge' is miles better than the others. On Mitch's poll Phantom is 14th the next on in the list (steel force) is 76th, heck 'AIR' beat that. If Morgan ever do make another coaster (which I highly doubt since the number of Hypers being build has been decreasing at an alarming rate) I hope its built like Phantom. -
New Pleasureland Southport
dr.gumbo replied to martynlfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey, my topic has locked even though it was posted first, Well it doesnt really matter now, this threads better! (I LOVE how everyones is now calling the Frog hopper thingy 'bouncy bouncy') -
From 'UK RIDES' There is also a list of rides on site at the moment on 'wikipedia' en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Pleasureland This is fantastic news, it'll never match the original pleasureland's reputation but its a good replacement. EDIT: Theres also some pictures on UK RIDES website

Wild West World is now closed
dr.gumbo replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The three major problems with the park are: 1-Its location (It isnt the brightest of ideas to build a park where it is exposed to Natures worst ) 2-Its lack of Gimmicks (If you tell them you've got the best ride out there the GP will beleive you, tell the truth that you have nothing that great the GP wont be impressed and wont come) 3-Managment (If you build a new park with nothing spectacular for $30,000,000 there is no way your going to pay it off anytime soon) What they should of done was buy a local park (if they could) and upgrade it slightly and claimed it as a new park! It would have been cheaper (in theory) than starting from scratch! -
Great Coasters on The Discovery Channel
dr.gumbo replied to Evan1127's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If your talking about 'Building the biggest' that was released a year ago in England. I would of thought it would have been shown in America first but apparently it wasn't. Unless your talking about another program... EDIT: Also does anyone know when this will air in England? That is if it does! -
I have just noticed this new rollercoaster on RCDB... rcdb.com/ig3745.htm?picture=2 ... It looks like a fusion between an Vekoma moterbike, Powder keg and Thunder dolphin with TWO launches. And its also called Slalom (A name the countrys quite fond off). It look quite good, that is if it doesnt beat you up to the brain!

Errm... It has to be 'Light water valley' however 'Loudoun castle' was nice.

Im not sure where you can find it but you could listen to it on this video... www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22230&highlight=valhalla ...or you can send a message to the guy who made the video and ask him where he got it! -
Wow! When did Posidons Rage open? I have to see pictures of it operating (to bad you couldn't bring your camera with you). I wish England had more woodies (stupid height restrictions), their so fun and exiting

Despite how ugly it looks during the day I have to admit it looks good at night.
