  1. ^ Interesting. The website still lists them as being open on Sunday, even though the current forecast for Sunday is much worse than tomorrow's. /Just assuming it's the weather. //Looks like I might be there opening weekend after all.
  2. So is "Rick" some kind of famous Dutch daredevil adventurer or something?
  3. Four days at BGE last year, with every intention of checking out Castle O'Sullivan, and I still couldn't manage it. Man, I suck. Anyway, thanks for the update, Chuck!
  4. I voted for Purplepills, as well. I'm kind of glad he didn't get his up earlier, though, as it might have inspired me to do a Futurama one. /"Zapp Brannigan's Knight in White Satin" FTW! //aka, "The Love-nasium."
  5. I like it. Pretty sure the "for" shouldn't be capitalized, technically--especially in light of the fact that "and" isn't. But I'll chalk it up to artistic license. /Oh god, I'm a grammer nazi! //So ashamed.
  6. I rather enjoyed my one visit to DCA (a few years back, now). I honestly came away thinking that it was better than Animal Kingdom or Disney/MGM and wondering what everyone was complaining about. But I agree that the park looks pretty bad at the moment, based on the photos I've seen. A two-day jaunt to SoCal sometime in September is currently a strong possibility, and I was thinking of doing both Disney parks. But, if it still looks like that, I'll almost certainly trade out DCA for KBF.
  7. I'm planning on being there Sunday, March 8th. I'm hoping/expecting that it won't be busy--but I still anticipate major frustration regarding Mindbender, since that's always been my experience in the past. /Hoping I'm wrong. //First visit in over 5 years. ///Excited and worried.
  8. Great photos. Diamondback is looking really good. I even like the station.
  9. Blue Thunder: The Ride! /Come on, you know it would be awesome.
  10. Can't get enough of Tokyo Disney. Thanks for the TR! Did you make it over to DisneySea as well?
  11. How dare you sully the good name of this thread with your fakery, sir!
  12. Nice TR (so far). It looks like you put extra effort into your captions! Lots of good shots of BTMRR, too.
  13. I agree completely. And, as an aside, I recall Tijuana Taxi being inferior to Gasoline Alley because you didn't have as much control of the cars. I've still yet to find a park that I like as much as "old" Knott's Berry Farm.
  14. A thought that has occurred to me many times. And this is, in that sense, long overdue. (Though, of course, Robb rightly moves at his own pace in whatever directions he wishes.) Still, I'm excited about this idea not because it's free (although that's nice too), but because I'd simply rather be associated with TPR over any other "club." Good luck with the project. As always, Robb, you're the Santa of the coasterverse.
  15. ^ That's a nice idea! Yeah, it's shame you missed the deadline, but thanks for posting it anyway.
  16. "Weasel"? I'm sure you meant it as a compliment. But methinks Theme Park Review is simply that well known. If your park wants a big presence on the internet, or wants to connect directly with enthusiasts, then why wouldn't you want to invite over a nice man like Robb?
  17. A bit of a silly suggestion, but perhaps you could make the "static" on the TV "hilly" instead of straight, to really sell the coaster conection. [Edit: Hmm, it's looking like my suggestion might be a day or two late. Oh well, I'm still claiming victory on the name! ]
  18. Of course! You really can't go by me; I have the Arrow Mad Mouse as one of my top ten coasters! In any case, maybe Manta will be the flyer that changes my mind. /Pretty excited about the aquarium queue, too.
  19. Hmmm, I thought I had more than just these two, but I guess not. Florida's gift shop. Florida's rampy queue.
  20. That doesn't mean the "side effect" isn't useful. Didn't mean to start an argument. I'm certainly no expert, but I would tend to think that good old regular brakes would be cheaper to buy and maintain than a small artificial lake, if simply slowing the train was the major concern.
  21. Well, it's hard to explain. Perhaps the flying position creates too different of an experience, to my taste. But beyond being high up in the air, I just don't feel much rush or thrill. Maybe they're just not "out of control" enough for me. I mean, I enjoy them. But I enjoy observation towers, too. /No agenda. I guess I just don't "get" them. //That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
  22. Perhaps. I guess a lot of people really like these Flying Coasters, but I just don't find them very...well, coaster-like. I mean, they're fun and all. But I just can't imagine one ever being in my top 10. As always, your milage may vary. But I'll probably be over at Kraken.
  23. For the most part, I think I actually favor small parks over larger ones. As for good, really small parks: Enchanted Forest in Oregon is really nice, and the Myrtle Beach Pavilion is sorely missed. I haven't made it to Timber Falls yet, but it looks like someplace I'll like.
