  1. ^ I assumed it was wooden. /"Pre-fab."
  2. What can I say? I'm a minimalist. Simple, basic, and obvious.
  3. There are other threads, if you'd like to talk about something else. Have you checked out the spanking thread lately? That's a good one. /Go Yellow Track! //And Speed Metal!!
  4. ^^ That's it! Where's the rumor thread? They're moving Batman next to Terminator and theming the area to "Epic Imaginary Battles!" /Next up: Superman versus a Ninja! //Oh, wait.
  5. Hah! I've got you beat! The GhostRider of that opening year is/would-still-be my favorite coaster. And while Wes has a point in regards to the general fall in Mitch's poll of CCI's, I am going to lay some blame at Cedar Fair's feet. Their Achilles heel as a company seems to be engaging in self-fulling prophesies. They don't don't focus on theming because their theming doesn't come out well. And they don't like wooden coasters because they get too rough. Rumor has it that they wanted to kill GhostRider when they first came in and build a hypercoaster instead. Seems like it would have been a good idea now, doesn't it? It's funny how "smart" they are.
  6. So this new coaster goes underground. But it's a pier, right? So does it go, like, down to the sand or something? /Never been. Forgive me ignorance.
  7. I think it's an invert. /I really do love this thread. //Life is like a wheel.
  8. Ah...but was it pointing the wrong way on purpose? After all, you can get to Batman that way. And you can go by all kinds of fun shops on the way!
  9. ^ Awesome. Thanks. I don't find B&M's flyer restraints uncomfortable. But I will say that I don't find flyers very coaster-like. Cedar Point's not really my kind of park. But I like that the folks in charge add things based on what they actually want to ride, rather than just putting things in to attract some imagined demographic.
  10. Wow, except for the fact that their biggest coaster is a Boomerang, that park looks great! Thanks for the TR!
  11. ^ Awesome, they're opening something new last year! You know, everyone describes their own upcoming announcements as "big." You have to kind of take that with a grain of salt.
  12. That actually sounds pretty okay. I'm a big fan of full service restaurants at parks. Perhaps this is less a case of greed on the part of the new owners, and more a case of them being more cautious. The whole idea of free beer always seemed a bit risky to me, liability-wise.
  13. I've never really messed with NL, but I love that turnaround! That needs to be built on a real ride.
  14. Never blacked out. (At least, not yet.) But I did stumble a bit coming off of three SFMM-Goliath rides in a row without getting off. (It was during media day.)
  15. ^ Man, I walked right into that one! Thanks, though. I hadn't realized that. /I guess ACE is never gonna get me back.
  16. No, no, you're not making it complicated enough. Here, watch: Crest toothpaste is made by Procter & Gamble, which is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ergo, this track is obviously for King's Island's 2010 follow up to Diamondback, "Yellowtooth!"
  17. You know, the whole "free beer" was never a big deal to me. But it was a unique attraction/attribute of the Busch parks. And in that sense, at least, I hate to see it go. /Still hoping the family will end up with them.
  18. No, because we're all competing with you! /Well, okay...cheater.
  19. Awesome. Thanks! The event on May 9-10 is really tempting me, but I'd have to cancel some other (bigger) coaster plans for that month. Also, I'd have to join a club of some kind again. But still, Diamondback is looking great.
  20. Wait...you mean to look at? I thought you didn't ride coasters, Nerd...? /Shouldn't you be pissed that they took out the log flume?!
  21. No need to apologize. I don't hold you responsible. /Guy tels me he can't patch the leak, and that I need four new tires. //My SoCal street smart suspiciousness kicks in. "And how much is that gonna cost me?" ///"Don't know. We don't sell tires."
  22. ^ Robin? /Sorry, no picture to contribute. I'm at work, and all my really good spanking photos are at home.
  23. ^ Agreed. "Perceived" value generally trumps physical value anyway, because it makes people feel more special.
  24. Awesome. Thanks in advance, Robb! /"Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony, and a plastic rocket, and one of those...."
  25. Catholic...? Like, "Catholic School Girl: The Ride?" Yeah, I could handle that. Oh, and Voodoo isn't just a religion. It can also be a spell or a curse, or even just be a synonym for "nonsense." /Thought Voodoo was better, but not worth getting sued over.
