  1. It seems like they don't race Gemini nearly as much as they used to. I think the past 6 or 7 times I have gone to CP, I have only seen Gemini racing once or twice. It's a shame, really.
  2. That's just it, I'm not going to form an opinion and/or critique it until I actually ride it first.
  3. I rode before and after the change and felt no difference what-so-ever on El Toro. It seemed just as fast and out of control and with just as insane airtime as before. In this case the brake screws up the entire drop apparently. The difference between a trim on a drop and simply slowing the lift I think will make a big difference. Oh well. Like I said, it is what it is, and there isn't anything we can do anyway.
  4. That sucks about the trims if it is true, but oh well, it is what it is...what can you do. I'll be riding it in August, but I look at it this way: I rode El Toro for the first time after they slowed down the lift, and it was still a DAMN GOOD ride. I'm hoping the same for I305. You have to keep that "glass half-full" mentality.
  5. RIght now it's Phantom's Revenge, but will Sky Rocket soon take over that spot?
  6. My favorite is Gemini, of the ones I have been on.
  7. Of the ones I have been on, I'd say Wicked Twister.
  8. ^ I don't know what you watch, but Barnaby and Melrose are incredibly biased and are pretty bad "analysts." They are annoying as hell. ESPN will do what seems like a 30 second segment on the NHL, then spend the next 20 minutes on the NBA playoffs, MLB, Tiger Woods, etc. (I'm exaggerating, of course). Hell, right before I typed this, Melrose pretty much blamed the loss entirely on Crosby...are you freaking kidding me?! Yes this wasn't the best game of his career, but look at Fleury and the defense's play tonight. Lastly, for the record, Melrose talked for about a minute or two, then focus shifted to the Cavs, WHO DIDN'T EVEN PLAY TONIGHT, and they went on for a good 5+ minutes.
  9. ^ Yep, I was going to say the same thing. If anything, everyone at ESPN, ESPECIALLY Barry Melrose, are all on Ovechkin's bandwagon anyway.
  10. Why? All that did was assure that everything picked up right where it left off. Yes the Caps went 4-0 against the Penguins this year, but the Penguins still have that game 7 win over Washington, and the last time I checked, the Capitals were the powerhouse of the NHL, rolling right through opponents the entire year, and got bounced by an 8 seed, after being up 3-1 in the series, mind you. Yes, the Penguins lost to that same team also, but they were a 4 seed and were far from dominating all year long. It'll be fun watching Ovechkin's body fall apart in 5 years because of his aggressive (and cheap) playing style, while Crosby has already set himself up to score goals with ease at age 35+. Read my post on the Crosby/Ovechkin debate I posted on page 35. It was written after the first round, so ignore some bits, but the core points still hold water. Penguins - 3 Capitals - 0 Crosby - 1 Ovechkin - 0
  11. Even Philly fans, who HATE the Penguins, still gave Mario a standing ovation after a game because he had radiation treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma earlier that day. My thoughts regarding the Pens vs Habs... Can't win 'em all I guess...two SCF appearances in a row is certainly a lot more than I ever thought I'd see during my lifetime, and I can assure that the Penguins WILL be back. It is also reassuring to know that the Penguins can basically overhaul the entire roster, everything except the core at least, and get rid of all the dead-weight players who are hurting more than helping, like Fedotenko. As far as Montreal goes, I wish them all the best and will be rooting for them to come out as Eastern Conference Champions. It would be neat to see them get their 25th (or 26th, depending how you look at it) Cup. I'm not so sure they can beat Chicago or San Jose (especially Chicago considering their style of play is defense-based), but after beating arguably the 2 best Eastern teams in a row, one would think they'd have enough confidence to win it all (watch, Philly/Boston will somehow roll right through them, lol). I guess it's time to move on to my childhood favorite team in the Sharks. I'll be wearing my Heatley jersey. Also, thanks for the memories Mellon/Civic Arena! Can't wait to go to a game in the Consol Energy Center next season! LET'S GO SHARKS!
  12. ^ Crowds should be fairly light, unless there is some event.
  13. Haha, I remember riding those as a kid!
  14. ^^ The park closes too early during the week in May to get that "kids leave to get on their buses" effect, in my opinion. And they added another "learning week" in Amusement Park 101 week the week after M&S week. After that it's already Memorial weekend, and Coastermania a week later. By the time all those events are over, kids are getting out of school and crowds begin to increase. In my opinion, that's GENIUS on Cedar Point's part, from a business perspective. Except for a select few days here and there (like Sundays, rainy/overcast days, etc.), those "whole park to yourself in early May" days are long gone and have been all but eliminated.
  15. Looks great! While I'll most likely never go to Geauga Lake again, it's good to see Cedar Fair still fully supporting it as a water park.
  16. There are no events on Sundays. In the 2 or 3 times I have gone during M&S week, every single time felt like a weekday in July or August. Every year I thought the next year would be better and it was just a *fluke,* but I finally got fed up and decided to just go another time.
  17. The only other ones I'd say are must rides are Gemini and Wicked Twister. I'm not a fan of Blue Streak, but a lot of people are, so you might want to give it a try...the line is never long because it's tucked away beyond Raptor. Mantis maybe, but if you don't get around to it, no big deal. Power Tower makes for some nice views also...especially of Dragster if you get the correct side facing it.
  18. Riders are given protective eyewear?! I knew this thing was a monster, but damn!
  19. ^ You should be ok if you plan your route carefully and accordingly....i.e. go to the back of the park first, eat lunch and dinner early/late and hit popular rides during lunch time and dinner time, etc.
  20. ^ & ^^ Opening week is Math and Science week. As I've said before, I'd advise NOT to go during that period. It's not a fun experience at all, and you can expect lines to be 1 to 2 hours for most major rides. The second week they are open is Amusement Park 101 week. I believe that is new this year. I don't know how crowded that will be, but I would assume it won't be much better than M&S week.
  21. So far we havn't seen any station shots so how can we tell? You can't "tell," I'm just saying it would be neat if they did, relax. Sheeesh.
  22. If you're staying in a hotel, you could always ask them where to find coupons. Sometimes hotels even sell discounted tickets. Even if you aren't, you could always just stop in the closest one and still just ask.
  23. You could always just buy them at the gate. If you're worried about the increased cost, just go around to some local grocery stores, McDonalds, Burger Kings, etc. beforehand in search for coupons.
  24. ^ Why I quit that game a LONG time ago. Full of too much cheap stuff and bull****.
