Oh... well then I'm just blind I guess. Ignore me. Anyway, it's on the list now... they just added Bumper Cars, Haunted Mansion, Kiddie Helicopters, Kiddie Bumper Cars, Ole Smokey, Red Barons, Satellite, Space Walk, and the Umbrella Ride. -

Those might be open since it says on the bottom "Haunted Mansion, Scenic Skyway not included in POP plans" They may just not be listing them with the POP rides. I could be wrong I just figured I'd point it out because I was wondering about that before. -

I love this park! Not only did they bust it to get open by the weekend, but the list of rides that will be open is huge AND they're offering discounted tickets this weekend because everything won't be open. -
Portable Coasters

Never ridden Thriller or Olympia Looping so I'll go with Laser. -
The longest line I've ever waited in was for Millennium Force when it first opened. I waited over 2 1/2 hours twice in the same day but operations were extremely fast and the line was constantly moving. It's just that the line was insanely long. As far as the slowest lines... I can't decide between Nightmare at Great Escape, Mad Mouse at Quassy or Hypersonic XLC. I am sure that Nightmare's line was the worst because the entire wait took place in a dark, un-themed, un air conditioned hallway and even though there was never anyone in line it NEVER MOVED due to having 3 cars that held 2 people each and single riders were allowed even though the signs specifically said they weren't. The Quassy mouse never had a big line but it used to frequently run ONE CAR (Yes on a wild mouse). As far as Hypersonic, we all know the story with that one. Luckily all three of the coasters I just mentioned are either demolished or SBNO.

This really is awful. Hopefully they get everything cleaned up soon but that would be a miracle. -

I highly doubt it... it's almost an annual occurrence for them like Elissa said and they generally clean it up very quickly. -

LOL! Maybe DA will burn to the ground and they will put in a real attraction. Maybe CP thinks Bizarro beat Millennium Force because of the new fire effects and wants to have some of their own. -

Great Park!!! To be fair, if this were really going to be a Cedar Fair park you would need to have WAY more trashcans but I'll let that go since it makes the park look better if you leave them out. -

Agree 100%. Everyone wants a mini Camden Yards. -
Stupid Moves that Parks have made
coasterbill replied to tribar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Six Flags New England wins this one... but I'm not sure if it's because they have 2 boomerangs or because they had so much work done on "The Dark Knight" before having to tear the whole thing down. -
I still haven't seen this reported anywhere else... does anyone else see this anywhere? I actually saw it on a Delaware News network so before taking it as fact I'm trying to see someone else confirm it. A tornado warning was in place in Jackson but that can just mean it was a storm capable of producing a tornado.
-
Numerous local networks are reporting that NUMEROUS tornadoes have touched down at Great Adventure. Whether or not this is true I don't know and I'm not able to find any confirmation on line yet (and they have nobody on the scene) so take this with a grain of salt for now but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I was hoping they would put this in the North Carolina part of the park (By Hurler) as they really need to draw people over there. That's a minor complaint though... as predictable as this was I'm still excited to ride it. -

I wish Robb, Elissa or any of you guys on the west coast could see the news coverage in New York right now. I'm sure you'd pull a muscle from laughing so hard about this "major earthquake". -
I hate to whine, I really do but I need to here. I've stopped going to SFNE anyway even though it's the closest park to me because I think Six Flags has really ruined that place. Their initial additions were amazing... as was Batman the Dark Knight and after that they started to rip every last bit of charm out of the place... removing the log flume and a million other flat rides, ripping out Timber Town for that hideous Wiggles world thing and re-theming Superman for no reason whatsoever. Other than Rockville... the only nice part of that park left is Crackaxle Canyon and now they're ripping out a well themed, much needed water ride (It was a great relief from the heat because it got you wet but not soaked) and putting a Boomerang next to the other Boomerang. I don't get off of the East Coast much but I did get to go to SFMM in 2002 and I loved Deja Vu.. but I still don't get this at all. It would be great if they were replacing Flashback and putting this in it's place (it may not fit though with the Skyway there) but having both in the same park is really, really stupid. They should either replace Flashback with this or just get new trains for Flashback ALA Carolina Cobra, move Deja Vu to some park that really needs it like Six Flags America or Great Escape and then call it a day.

We bought them for Disney once and if they raise the price you still have to pay the difference. That's crap... -
The Future of Giga Coasters?
coasterbill replied to Saldek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm very excited that people are building giga coasters again. It was very strange to me that after two opened in 2000 there wasn't another one built for almost a decade. To me, these rides are much more enjoyable than Strata Coasters (not to mention more reliable) since they have longer durations and do a lot more than just up... down... brakes. Plus I love the gradual ascent to the top so you can really appreciate how high up you are. I'm so glad parks are going back to building enormous traditional coasters. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really don't care if they charge for it or not because I wouldn't bother either way but I'm not overly upset about this. They already have 17 coasters... they put in a 300 foot tall ride this year... who cares if they don't add much of anything next year? I can't believe all of the whining on their Facebook... what do people want from them? lol. -

I think they're removing Paddlewheel Excursions because of low ridership... and if that's true I can't complain about it. Most people probably didn't even know it was there. -

They've added a flume type ride and a 300 foot swing ride since Maverick...
