Google's Satellite Maps...
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It looks like Six Flags Great America is getting it soon. It has the blue outline in the park but it's not yet clickable. -

Windseeker construction has kind of sort of begun. Just pink ribbons at this point. Pics from their Facebook. -
For the people that don't get why they removed this and not Jet Stream.... Jet Stream clearly isn't as good, but it also has Ninja over it so what would they be able to put in that space that's better than Jet Stream? Not much unless they removed Ninja too and there's no reason to do that. Getting rid of Log Jammer opens up a lot of room for them to build a large attraction. Take a look at the google map and you'll see what I mean. Link

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When you're at the park I don't think you notice it as much. It's a beautiful park. That being said I have serious concerns about the way this will look but Hershey usually does a good job with aesthetics so I'll wait and see. -
Six Flags Surveys Meal Options

What they should really do is combine this with the Season Pass and come up with a stupid name for it like the "VIP Season Pass" or the "Platinum" season pass. I wish they'd include drinks but they won't because I think the whole idea of this is to make people buy drinks. If they're smart they'll have a bunch of free popcorn or anything else that absolutely requires a drink. If you get a free crappy Pizza slice and a 5.00 soda they're still making money and you paid more for the meal plan up front. -

Good point. Why don't they just do 3-4 restaurants and let you get as much as you want? (Once per hour) a hybrid of the 2 ideas that doesn't require them to hire extra people? They could even charge a little more for it. Having it end before dinner time just seems a little strange. -

I love Option 1 and I would definitely pay for it. The one thing I don't get is why they would only do it until 5PM. Why not just do it all day? That's idiotic. -

Well they're actually open. Sounds like a lot of rides are closed but for some reason the park is open. lol -

The park is still planning on opening some rides at 2:00. Good luck with that... -
Is there any chance of them ever re-opening it? I wouldn't even care if they did something like Hershey did and whore it out to an insurance company or something. A wrapped monorail train is a moving billboard that goes all over the park at a speed where people can actually read it AND they could throw some commercials in over the speaker system. If they played their cards right and signed over the ad rights to it could probably cost the park next to nothing to refurbish it (meaning the advertiser picks up the tab). Then again they have probably already thought of this.

Shane's Amusement Attic

Sure about that? Even if it is safe, that would still mean you'd be re-riding a Vekoma looper. -
Is it bad that that's all I can think about with this? I hate to be a downer here but according to the article in the first post of the thread, "The hotel was built in 1965 as a show of confidence after Hurricane Carla." This "show of confidence" replaced an amusement park that was wiped out by a hurricane. Now the "show of confidence" itself was wiped out by a hurricane and as a "show of confidence" they're going to build a theme park there. When do you officially cross the line between confidence and arrogance? SPOILER ALERT: It's going to happen again. Fool me once, shame on... shame on... you fool me you can't get fooled again.

Any pics of the construction site? I see part of the cobra roll in your Posessed pic. -
I normally agree with Robb and I hate to say this because it makes me sound like I'm full of crap and would never have said this while the ride was still open but I've ALWAYS loved Big Bad Wolf and always ranked it much higher than most people. I just went back to my Coaster Grotto (Apparently they still exit) account to see where I used to have it ranked and I had it at #6 out of (at the time) 137 coasters. I also had it ranked above the other coasters at BGW (Griffon was not there yet) since I was really disappointed by Apollo and I liked Alpie but the second half was taken at a snails pace. I've always really liked Suspended and Inverted coasters. I loved the uniqueness of the ride and I loved the out of control first half and the awesome drop over the water. People that have ridden Eagle Fortress might be laughing at me calling this ride "Out of Control" but I've never ridden Eagle Fortress so BBW is by far the best suspended I've been on. I have watched the video of Eagle Fortress and I'll admit that it looks like it's MUCH better than BBW but again... I never got to ride it. I just have a thing for these types of coasters. I've never met a Suspended coaster that I haven't liked. I even kind of like Iron Dragon. It's a shame to see them go. I know I probably overrate these coasters but we all have different tastes when it comes to rides we enjoy so I'm sure there are some others that agree with me.

Favorite Theme Park Game
coasterbill replied to wplover's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agree 100%. I don't ever play the ones with the 100 holes either... I like the old style ones where you aren't rewarded for making terrible shots up in the corners. Do you ever try for the 50s unless you absolutely need one on the last ball or two. I try to find a game where you need to average between 30-40 per ball to win and then aim only for the 30s and 40s. Yeah my strategy is usually to throw a bunch of 40's... that way if you miss you still get 20. Sometimes if I throw a 50 when I'm trying for a 40 I'll keep repeating that throwing motion and go for 50's but I rarely do it unless I need 50 points for some reason. If I ever play a machine with 100 holes (which really never happens) I completely ignore those. Also, I want a constitutional amendment that parents that let their kids play Skeeball within 2 lanes of someone else should be ejected from the park. lol Nothing is more annoying then when they throw into your lane when you have a good game going and get a zero. Wow I just sounded like a whiny 85 year old right there... sorry everyone. -

How can you be unhappy with it? I can see being indifferent but if you don't think it's worth the wait then don't ride it. Any time they can take a SBNO ride and make it operational again that's a win in my book, I hate seeing SBNO rides at a park. Personally I'd love to have the chance to ride it. -

#1) Bizzaro #2) Batman Knight Flight / Dominator #3) Batman the Dark Knight / Batman the Ride (SFNE) #4) Hydra the Revenge. Bizzaro and BKF are both great coasters and I had a hard time picking a favorite... Batman and Hydra are both really mediocre and I had a hard time not putting them in a tie for last. lol I've always loved Medusa (or Bizzaro whatever), that's an awesome coaster and probably the most underrated coaster at Great Adventure.
