  1. When they got rid of this I was pretty excited because I figured whatever they put in it's place HAD to be better and less painful than Scream Machine. I guess not... Green Lantern sucks so much that I actually want that piece of crap Scream Machine back. A part of me always liked GASM even though it was horrible. No part of me likes Green Lantern. I'm just glad Great Adventure had the decency to put all of the bad rides in one corner of the park so I could easily avoid them. Other than the parachutes (which are stupid but I like them because they're unique) they could bulldoze every ride on the "boardwalk" and I wouldn't care at all.
  2. Thanks for the comments! Don't worry, there are currently no plans to remove any rides. I'll have an update on the new area soon, and then probably a few more tweaks but this park should be released very soon. I just want to make sure I'm happy with everything first. I can't wait to hear your feedback on the completed park.
  3. "When we built Magnum back in 1989 the big question was what will Cedar Point do next? How will they out-due themselves? Well I'm hear to tell you, this year we introduced Mean Streak".
  4. 1) Millennium Force 2) El Freakin Toro 3) Totally Random but... Raptor 4) Phoenix 5) Nitro 6) Intimidator 305 7) Bizarro at SFNE (Dropped from #3 this year, it's going downhill fast) 8) Storm Runner 9) Afterburn (Carowinds) 10) STILL the Big Bad Wolf (Rust in Piece)
  5. I actually thought Rolling Thunder was very smooth this year but okay cool!
  6. I'm really sorry to give such a common answer but the one that really sticks out for me is Big Bad Wolf. I know everyone talks about how much they love coasters once they're gone but I can honestly tell you that when I visited Bush Gardens this was by far my favorite coaster there (Griffon was not built yet) and it's been in my top 10 list ever since. It was a really unique coaster and I really wish it was still around. I haven't ridden Verbolten yet so I can't say which ride I prefer but I'll always miss the Big Bad Wolf.
  7. Thanks for all the comments! I really appreciate the feedback and take it into consideration when building the park. I explained why I can't build a waterpark, but because of your suggestions I have made some upgrades to my collection of water rides (including Monsoon Falls which you saw in the last update). I have another update. Work is continuing on the new area of the park, but there is plenty of work going on everywhere else too. For now, I'll focus on the upgrades being made elsewhere but EXPECT A BIG UPDATE on the new area soon (I PROMISE). Who remembers the old "Pirates Plunge" ride? Nobody? Why not? Oh yeah... because it sucked. Here's a screenshot to refresh your memory. This ride was in the Pirates Cove area of the park and didn't really seem up to par. I guess I kind of half a**ed this ride and it really started to bother me. So I give you the ALL NEW Pirates Plunge! Since it's opened, it's been a huge hit with guests and I feel that it "fits" much better than it's predecessor. A brand new Bumper Boat ride has opened up in the Western Adventure section of the park. Now the park has four water rides to help guests cool down on hot days. A brand new boat dock has been built on the other side of the bridge. I have no idea what this is for. Nothing to see here... move along. Guests love Monsoon Falls! The line is always full. CONFESSION: Abassi is my favorite coaster in the park. Does anyone agree?
  8. Of the parks I've been to this year (Dorney, Great Adventure, Six Flags America, Kings Dominion, Lake Compounce, Knoebels, Funland in Rehoboth Beach and Six Flags New England), Six Flags new England has the rudest ride operators and customer service people I've EVER seen. It seems like everyone in this park is in a bad mood all the time... the only exception is the Tomohawk crews who are always in a good mood and joking around with guests.
  9. I rode it in it's first year and again this year... it still looks cool and still doesn't really deliver. It has a B&M rattle now but it's far from rough... it fits in perfectly with Dorney's collection of rides that look cool but aren't that great. Thank god this park has Talon which is pretty solid. Now that Laser is gone the only above average coasters the park has are Talon and Thunderhawk (First Car... Second Seat otherwise that coaster sucks too).
  10. I like it a lot, but the ride entrance in Mudslide's station is really bothering me. I suggest maybe raising the roof up one block so you can put a square block right over the entrance and ensure that it won't poke through (or you could hide entrances and exits if you're trainer savvy (unlike me).
  11. No problem. lol. Sorry for being overly sarcastic but I just really don't have any interest in Playland's minor problems. I grew up with Playland and even though it's awful I'll always have great memories of the place and I can't help but like it (sort of like your favorite dive bar). That being said they dodged a bullet with this Hurricane and there are hundreds of thousands of people within an hour of Playland that have real problems to deal with (and in some cases, have lost loved ones). The only reason Westchester County Residents should care about this is that they'll be paying the deductibles and increased insurance premiums since Playland is currently subsidized by the taxpayers. In return they get a park that sucks but still charges $80 for a season pass (about $20 more than Great Adventure does) and $30.00 to get in for one day. They're likely just playing this up so they can ask everyone for more money next year. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather subsidize Playland than lose it completely but it's still a crappy deal for the taxpayers. If Playland were wiped out by the storm we would all be a little sad (screw the ice rink though... it loses 3 million dollars a year and we pay for it. I wish the Hurricane leveled that thing and then spawned three tornadoes that picked up the debris of the ice rink and threw it all the way to Connecticut) but since Playland made out better than a lot of us, and since we now have a love-hate relationship with this tax burden of a park we don't want to hear about their problems right now.
  12. To be fair, nobody's overreacting to anything. The park just posted an update and pictures and everyone's just posting their concerns. There's no "OH TEH HUMANITY. TEH WORLD'S GUNNA END CUZ MEH FAVURIT PLACE IN TEH WURLD IS DESTROYED" and I'm sure most of the people posting on their page are locals who were directly affected by the storm anyway. If there are comments like that, I probably missed them. Hershey and Knoebels had the exact same reactions last year on their Facebook pages after their floods. Saying they got "hit hard" was a little ridiculous since everyone around them got hit harder. I agree that people overreacted to Hershey and Knoebels last year but at least those parks sustained SOME actual damage. Let's have fun with Facebook comments. Rebuild what? The boardwalk that nobody ever walks on? Okay sorry, one person walks on. The only reason people walk on the boardwalk is to get to the bar. The "devastation" is minor. Relax... Everyone will remember where they were the moment they found out a plank in the kiddyland boardwalk was raised two inches. PS: Over 50 people are dead because of this storm. I'm pretty sure the Zoltar Machine in the movie "Big" was on Tony's Pier so that's cool I guess, but the pier was always closed and not at all impressive. They just re-opened it last year as overflow seating for the Tiki Bar. Forgive me for not caring. They also posted a picture of a tree that knocked a fence over but then wrote that nothing was damaged in that incident. The responses... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE FENCE!!!!!! Oh, deep in my heart... I do believe... We shall overcome some day Finally... someone who has their priorities straight. Besides the Log Flume, Old Mill and Derby Racer this is the only thing of value at Playland. Yes... I said it. It's my home park and I basically grew up there so I'm allowed to hate on it. The Tiki Bar rules... sure I miss the old disaster of a place where we would just bring our own coolers full of beer and get drunk while eating $8 french fries but I can admit that the Tiki Bar is a dramatic improvement. Luckily it's completely fine... because the "damage" at Playland isn't a big deal.
  13. Yes... they're making a big deal out of nothing on their Facebook page. Here are some photos of the complete and total "devastation". They need to make new ice!!!!! Oh dear god! OH THE HUMANITY, the kiddy boardwalk was lifted TWO INCHES from the pavement! I can hardly stand to look! Link --- The boardwalk needs to be replaced and all that, but the way people are talking on their Facebook page is annoying. None of the rides were damaged, and I figured Playland was screwed being where it is. Nobody on the Jersey Shore, lower Manhattan, the New York shorelines or flooded areas of Westchester wants to hear them talk about their "bad hit from Sandy". The taxpayers will pay to fix Playland anyway once they're done paying to fix their destroyed homes and businesses since many of these people lived in areas that have never flooded and didn't get flood insurance. I'm just disappointed that Super Flight wasn't damaged.
  14. I'm no expert and I don't pretend to be but it looks like Funtown Pier is pretty much a total loss. I wouldn't be surprised if they remove all of the rides as the pier itself looks like it's either destroyed or highly unstable in most spots.
  15. That's a shame about the boardwalk but it looks like they made out pretty well for a park right on the sound.
  16. They just showed Casino Pier on NBC in NY. It looks like most of the flume ride is gone, the same may hold true for the Star Jet at the far end of the pier but I'm not sure.
  17. NJ.com AND ABC 7 in New York City are reporting that a 50 foot section of Funtown Pier in Seaside Heights has collapsed into the ocean. Link
  18. Unfortunately the Boomerang in Ocean City is hanging in there...
  19. Are people just looking for things to complain about? This won't have any impact on soda sales. Most people will drink whatever the park has even if they have a preference. If they really hate regular coke, they'll pick another coke product to drink. Nobody is going to walk around thirsty all day because they don't like the soda being served.
  20. Serves them right for parking in the parking lot... there are a ton of places right across the street that charge 3-5$ to park and it's less of a walk.
