  1. I wonder why they didn't opt for the more permanent looking slingshot that Great Adventure got. Though I haven't seen this new ride in person, it looks like crap from the pictures and the video.
  2. I think he was making fun of the fact that someone referred to lake Erie as an "ocean". You're reading too far into this.
  3. That's a shame, I was enjoying this park.
  4. This is a really cool coaster! The layout is really unique but also entirely believable.
  5. I'm excited to see how this turns out, especially after people have had a year or so to make their own hacks and objects for it. I've tried No Limits and RCT3 but as of now I don't think there's ever been a more realistic theme park game than RCT2 (the coasters are much more realistic in No Limits but you can't have a functioning park or any other type of ride). A new, realistic 3d theme park game has been a long time coming.
  6. I voted using the ballot helper. That's a great tool. I voted for El Toro, followed closely by Phoneix.
  7. Talk to the people I'm at the park with. Depending on the group you're with waiting in line can be sort of fun. Oh... and I also check the Q bot every 5 minutes to see why it's buzzing... - Kingda Ka is Closed - Kingda Ka is Open! - Kingda Ka is Closed - Kingda Ka is Open! - Upgrade to a Season Pass Today (even though I gave them my season pass as a form of ID) - Kingda Ka is Closed (Can I de-friend Kingda Ka so it will shut up?) - Kingda Ka is Open! (I hate you Q Bot) - El Toro - You can ride now! (I love you Q Bot)
  8. We went to Great Adventure about 10 times this year and I think they only use one boarding area now (the one closest to the operator panel near where the queue enters). I actually kind of like this system. The station is poorly designed though because the second car goes out empty a lot of the time. You have to fight through the people waiting for the front to get to that line and most people don't realize it. Personally I always wait for the front because I think the ride is kind of mediocre in the rest of the train but amazing in the front.
  9. Thanks! Hopefully that works for everyone. If so, I look forward to hearing your feedback on the park. Thanks again!
  10. I'm so glad to hear that. Thank you so much for the kind words. Apparently Ridetesj.dat is the custom chairlift ride and it causes problems for a lot of people. There was a test version of this ride and I think I'm using that. The file name is different but it still shows up as ridetesj. Here is the link to download it I checked my dat files and I have this but not the regular Ridetesj so I think this will solve the problem.
  11. Very cool! The Boomerang only having a 4 car train is killing me though.
  12. Sky Jump Las Vegas has to be one of the most extreme rides in the world. That's definitely on my bucket list.
  13. Good move demolishing that red coaster. I would straighten out the bridge now that there is no coaster going under it... that random section that's higher than the rest of the bridge looks really awkward now. Also, I would reverse the bumper boat station. Peeps are idiots with boat hires and they basically just go right back to the station so unless you only want one or two boats out at a time I would put the entrance right next to the front of the station so peeps don't have to walk all the way down the dock and board before anyone else can get on. It speeds up loading time by a lot. I'm glad to see you're taking your time with this park. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
  14. Nobody has mentioned beer yet... my faith in humanity is lost
  15. Very cool pictures and a great story. Son of Beast was beautiful... it was just a horrible ride.
  16. I refuse to go shopping on Thanksgiving ever. I think it's terrible that Black Friday now starts on Thanksgiving.
  17. Absolutely Diamond Heights. Don't be afraid to spend a little more time with it though. This park was only in Year 4. If you spend some more time with the new park it will show and probably be a lot better.
  18. Dominator has always been like that but I'm not sure why. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like Thunderhawk. The second seat from the front is my favorite.. that ride can be fun in the right seat. Regarding Steel Force... I completely agree with you on this. It's the world's tallest and fastest mine train coaster. I have no idea how a ride that tall and that fast can be that boring. I'm glad you enjoyed Stinger but I just can't get past the fact that they removed a great Schwarzkopf coaster for a boomerang.
  19. I just downloaded this park and I have to say I had a lot of fun playing it! I used to play this scenario over and over again before I used trainers because it was the biggest, flattest map I could find (once I had the money to fill in the lake, then flatten the dunes and then finally flatten the rocky area). This took me back to those old parks but I love how you left those areas intact. I think the Rocky Mountain Mine Train is the highlight of the park for me. I love the slow beginning where it starts out as a standard scenic train ride. That's pretty clever. The pirate ship is a highlight for me as well... it's very well placed. Red Storm is well done as well, and I love how you set it's dispatch time (not enough people do this and it's really, really unrealistic if you don't). If I had to nit pick I would suggest reducing the amount of boats on Texas Splash Down and I'm surprised you didn't utilize the castle for an indoor attraction. Overall I had fun playing this park. It reminds me of how RCT was played before custom scenery and over the top architecture. Nice job!
  20. This project is really cool! I hope you keep it going. Great use of the original scenery.
  21. Thanks! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the park. I see your point with the fast cornering hills (I assume you're referring to Vampire especially). I know Cheetah Run blows over the hill at 30 MPH but with an empty train it goes over at 4-5 MPH so I can't slow it down any more. That annoys me a little bit. Is anyone still having problems opening the park?
  22. I like that much better. Are you timing the dispatches to add realism or is that shuttle loop drawing a line like that with 10 second dispatches? If it's the latter that's really impressive.
  23. I like this a lot, but I suggest adding some variety to the trees near Texas Splashdown. Right now they're a little repetitive.
  24. This is great. Normally when a coaster is torn down people develop this nostalgic fondness for it and talk about how "it wasn't so bad" despite the fact that it was and they probably hated it when it was still in operation (I'm guilty of this with the Great American Scream Machine) . I'm so glad we haven't had to put up with any of that crap for this ride. This ride was horrible. If there is a hell, I'd imagine it would involve riding this coaster over and over without ever being able to get off. Other than the Great Adventure Viper this is the worst coaster I've ever ridden, but unlike Viper I rode it multiple times trying not to hate it and hoping to figure out what all the hype was about. Each time was more terrible than the last. EDIT: Nevermind, while I was typing this someone said they liked it.
