  1. I'm inclined to agree with this.
  2. Oh, the lighthouse thing? Yeah that was a super-popular slide that everyone liked that’s been there forever so I’m glad they saw another opportunity to suck monkey nuts and took immediate action.
  3. Quassy has one too. That said it's a flat ride so whatever. I still feel like it's replacement will be benches and a potted plant though.
  4. These tiers are designed to give people false hope but these metrics aren't realistic anywhere but the most rural areas. It just sounds better to give people false hope than to say "Theme parks aren't opening until the middle of 2021 when a vaccine is available to a reasonable number of people even though they're not really a source of covid spread but we don't care about that. Also we're following the science® ".
  5. Because Lake Compounce already got rid of everything else...
  6. We really are living in a simulation. I'd love for a meaningful upgrade to that ride to happen but I just don't see it for the foreseeable future (though I actually don't entirely hate it but it's by no means "good" either).
  7. Yeah, the difference to the rider between I-Box track and the current track is really minimal. The only major difference would be that the ride would actually be open when you wanted to ride it and when you were in line for it you could hear a bunch of obnoxious enthusiasts bragging to everyone who was willing to listen that they rode it with the old track and it was way better.
  8. I seriously don't care what they do as long as the ride works.
  9. I should clarify that I don't think opening this park is a dumb decision, I just think opening this and not Kings Island is a dumb decision. I also think that the operating calendar is a dumb, but I guess it's less dumb than Carowinds where the event ends 5 days before Christmas.
  10. You know what other park is larger and could use a B&M capable of 3 train operation? Six Flags Magic Mountain.
  11. They made out better than the other Parques Reunidos parks. Nobody cares about that ride.
  12. CoasterNerd87, I updated your post with some more information. I don't understand this company and I never will but hey... whatever. Why would you do this at the last minute when you saw that you no longer had capacity restriction issues but not do it at Kings Island which was already open and didn't have them all summer? You wouldn't have to hire people, you wouldn't need to get rides that haven't moved in a year ready to run for like a month. If they had a pricing structure like Six Flags where they were trying to un-freeze memberships I would get it but they don't and I just don't understand anything they do. This is nice for people that live right near the park though. Oh, and the event only runs through the 27th and not the entire holiday week after that where everyone is off from school. Six Flags is running circles around Cedar Fair this year and I don't know how to feel about it. PS: This woman is every shareholder right now...
  13. Superman always runs and it's never on the list so I'd expect it to be open, honestly.
  14. Magic Mountain just re-painted Scream and named the entire area of the park after Scream when they opened Twisted Colossus. Also, if they did move Scream (which they won't), Darien Lake wouldn't get it.
  15. Nick Universe at Mall of America is on an entirely different level than this place. New Jersey has much better coasters but Mall of America is better in every other possible way.
  16. Honestly while the food situation is bad it’s not like it’s the worst thing ever, it’s just that it’s a microcosm of every clusterfuck operational thing that is the Nick Universe experience.
  17. Lol oh god... So yes, they have a food stand open. To anyone reading this if you go there on a weekday and actually do open to close I guess you’re stuck eating it but if you go on a weekend just do whatever you need to do to avoid it (and don’t plan on eating in the mall yet, there’s some stuff but not much at the moment). Even if this means eating at a Turnpike rest area then buy that $7 whopper and don’t look back. We ended up going to the one food place because the place was 150 million degrees and we wanted water. The water fountains were off “for safety” so you had to instead spend 20 minutes in a non socially distanced line to buy it. They could have accomplished this with a vending machine but instead you have to: 1) wait in line for twenty minutes 2) order and pay 3) have someone take a giant piece of paper, check off “Bottled water”, hand it to you and tell you to stand in another line 4) walk by the water you could just grab yourself, stand in another line, hand the giant sheet of paper to the one employee, have them walk over to where you just were, grab the drinks and hand them to you ten minutes later. The food is overpriced hot dogs and sandwiches in plastic boxes for $12. It’s like run down gas station food but more expensive and you have to stand in a really long line behind a bunch of people who wouldn’t be there if you had a vending machine or turned the water fountains on because 75% of the people in the line just want water. There’s food but it’s really bad and the process of buying it will annoy even the most patient people. Oh, and they were selling people this crap after park close but then yelling at them immediately when they sat down to eat it because they were closed. Then again, anyone who bought that when they were leaving anyway is stupid and I don’t care. The theme with this park is that it’s actually really cool but it’s terribly, terribly, terribly run in every way to the point where you leave hating yourself for liking it.
  18. Given the insane price point of this place our plan going forward is to go once a year in the dead of winter and that's pretty much it, but over the weekend a few friends of ours hooked us up with free tickets so we made our first trip back since February. Sandy's Blasting Bronco was new for us and it's a great ride. The backward launch is really powerful and it has some great whip throughout. This park has a really impressive coaster collection for being located in a mall and only a year old and this is a contender for the best ride in the park. My thoughts on the park as a whole are unchanged. I really like it a lot but the price point is insane so it's hard for me to really recommend it. If this place were like $35-$40 I would sing it's praises constantly. Also, more and more stores are opening in the mall and it's actually starting to become pretty awesome. In a few years this will be one of the best malls in the country. PS: Shellraiser still wasn't rough for us. It's a great ride.
  19. Great report. The fact that there are now two ferris wheels aligned the exact same way at the end of the boardwalk is so weird to me. Also, this report needs more Seacrets.
  20. Yeah, that sounds like the Adventuredome to me...
  21. Six Flags isn’t going to remove Mind Eraser or Viper. There is no reason for them to do that. They’ll replace something that’s expensive to maintain that nobody cares about, not incredibly reliable coasters that are popular because the park clientele doesn’t know any better...
  22. El Toro (the ride that absolutely bang bams) looks like it's done for the season. The app is showing that now and there's a fence up blocking the entire area. Time to cancel our reservation. See you next weekend for HITP. lol
  23. It means that you can look forward to a fun-filled day riding Kumba, Montu, Cheetah Hunt and Sheikra and while you're in line for one of those you might be able to watch an Iron Gwazi POV on your phone.
  24. I can only speak for North America, but if we're just talking about coasters and nothing else I feel like (in no particular order) the parks that come to mind are - Busch Gardens Tampa (with a crazy RMC on the way) - Six Flags Great Adventure (with a crazy RMC on the way) - Cedar Point I guess I have to mention Magic Mountain too but I absolutely prefer Great Adventure's ride lineup to theirs and that's even without Jersey Devil (which looks ridiculous). I feel like I could see people going either way on that depending on their feelings on some of the more polarizing major coasters at each park (X2 / Kingda Ka / Riddler's Revenge / etc.).
