These are all great ideas... when Rob Decker hears them his mind will be blown. I can see Rob now... "Oh wow, we own those?!... I totally forgot to spend any time thinking about them this year... and what's a Valravn? I've never heard of such a thing. Are you sure I decided we should buy that? I didn't even know we owned a park in Northern Ohio. Imagine the excitement Rob will have when someone mentions this wild idea to him!! I can practically see his face lighting up with excitement when some enthusiast tells him tales of the wonderful things they can do to old wooden coasters. When someone suggests that he should call RMC about Mean Streak at Cedar Point (a park he was only just reminded about by another helpful enthusiast) he'll probably run to the phone so quickly with this exciting new idea he'd never thought of before that he'll almost forget to say "Thank you! Thank you Mr. Enthusiast for this outstanding suggestion! If only anyone had ever brought this up to me or I would ever have thought of it I would have called years ago!"

Glad you had fun! And yeah, the Bizarro crew is horrendous. It's been that way for years for some reason.

Oh yeah, you'll be fine. They don't really bring any haunt things / characters out until they close the kids areas.

Okay, so I stand by this but I do have a few comments after reading through the top 50 in each category... 1) What am I apparently missing with Intimidator at Carowinds? I like the ride... I'm sure everyone here who's ridden it had fun on it but as far as hypers go I rank it below many of the others. How that ride beat Leviathan, Nemesis, New Texas Giant, I305, Maverick and a bunch of others I'll never understand. Is there really anyone that thinks Intimidator at Carowinds is better than Maverick? I305? Really? 2) I like Nitro but I'm starting to believe that this is one of the most overrated B&M's ever built. 3) Steel Force doesn't belong on a top steel coasters list... that's ridiculous. Neither does Bizarro at Great Adventure. 4) Flying Turns tied for the 21st best wood coaster? Flying Turns? How the hell did that beat Twister? 5) I actually agree with Millennium Force being #1.

Last year we did both Dorney and Great Adventures halloween events - once @ each park and overall I enjoyed Dorney's much more. In fact I want to do it again this year. Shorter lines for the coasters/rides, the parks lighting/fog game were much more on point, no waits for the coasters, better scare actors in the scare zones (we dont do trails), and did I mention the walking onto coasters thing? The park was decently busy too, but no waits whatsoever for the coasters/flats. I can't comment on the lines for or quality of the trails @ Dorney or Great Adv though, but I know that we got a gold flash pass when we did Fright Fest @ Great Adv. My sentiments exactly...

I love the notion that some enthusiasts are going to "share their ideas" with someone who does this professionally and thanks to the conversation he'll be enlightened to go RMC Mean Streak and call Intamin as if he's never thought of either of those things before.

I don't know I don't have a huge issue with the results this year. I actually think this poll is headed in the right direction but they're not going to fix everything overnight. The poll is far from perfect but it's also much better than it was a few years ago.

Hawks lay eggs... it means it'll be something with hawk in the name. I'm a regular Nostradamus.

And Kingda Ka doesn't run in the rain. Wow... we're just a couple of buzzkills over here.

Great Report! Thanks for sharing. I'm a huge fan of Waldameer too, it's incredibly well taken care of and had a great atmosphere. There's no shame in being wrong, it builds character.

Bizarro and Wicked Cyclone unfortunately but they're not too restrictive (we're not talking Wicked Twister or Mystery Mine here).

I just want to state once again that I LOVE how Cedar Point does this. Every park should adopt this policy.

No... no.. no please no. Please don't do this. Life is too short to start doing more coaster by coaster comparisons between CP and SFMM. EDIT: And I see the comparisons and I'm tempted to disagree with some of them but I won't because then I'd be part of the problem.

A Magic Mountain vs Cedar Point debate? What year is it?

The storyline on cup challenge is so bad it's actually almost good... Like with any shooter ride though the story doesn't matter at all and all you care about when you get on is hitting as many targets as possible so I'm almost ashamed to admit I still kind of like the ride.

I'll warn you now that I have a complete love affair with Arrow suspendeds so my opinion may not be the norm, but if someone told me Vortex was their favorite coaster at Wonderland I wouldn't be able to argue with them... I prefer Leviathan but Vortex is outstanding. Also, regarding Minebuster and Wild Beast, the grouper screwed us on Minebuster. If it were up to me I would have avoided a wheel seat and we ended up having a terrible ride. We ended up in the front seat on Wild Beast and after the first drop my girlfriend looked at me and said she was going to "Mean Streak it". So basically we both leaned forward and stayed off the seat back and that could be why we enjoyed it. We both got the idea that without doing that we may have had different opinions.

Or Corkscrew, but even that ride isn't all that bad. I do consider it to be the worst coaster in the park though... putting an airtime hill on an arrow looper is just bullsh*t. What sick human being thought that would be a good idea? lol
