Intimidator is fun but Fury just makes it seem so... eh. Now we always ride it first when we go to Carowinds just because we know if we ride Fury first it's only setting us up for disappointment. -

Just go ride Fury, these flats are icing on the cake but who cares. Fury and Afterburn are all that matters. -

Millennium Force. The future is still riding on it. The haters are still hating on it but as far as I'm concerned it's the best coaster in America. -

I would hope they move Skyscraper... even if it's to another park in the chain. It's a great ride. -

Sorry for another post but it sounds like the prevailing thought is that Ripcord will be moved here to make way for a Soak City Expansion which I think everyone would agree must be coming eventually. It's consistent with what they've done lately since Slingshot was built in the main park and Carowinds recently relocated their Skycoaster to make way for a large expansion. Hopefully this isn't the case as it's obviously sort of disappointing if it's true. Luckily though there's no indication of this being more than a rumor but it does seem like a realistic scenario. This would probably be a great idea for them. They could save the high operating costs of Shoot the Rapids (an assumption since most water rides are very expensive to run) and Ripcord would probably see higher ridership with the increase in foot traffic. -

be sure to do the 3 museums. .they are very interesting (Miner's museum/Park History are together next to Black Diamond), and the Carousel museum (near the shirt gift shop). The Bald Eagles are very interesting too! Agreed, and the museums are free because Knoebels. Great for your second day or a passing shower / storm. -

Not speaking from a standpoint of what they should do but what I personally want (though I have no doubt it would be a hit)... The only thing I honestly feel like the park is missing is a log flume. They need a water ride that gets you wet but not soaked. I'll never step foot on a Rapids Ride or a Splash Boat but I love Log Flumes. I don't want a water coaster, I don't want stupid gimmicks I want a real Log Flume again. Obviously Arrow is long gone but Mack and a few others would be perfect. If Cedar Point does this it'll make me happier than basically any coaster addition they could come up with at this point. -

Wow, that's a shame. Oh well... I'd be thrilled to see it replaced by a real Log Flume. -
I understand the Pacific Park thing, it opens later in the day than Knott's and honestly after your day at Knott's I think spending an evening in Santa Monica riding the coaster and grabbing something to eat sounds great. Just stay in the area though... Don't drive to Magic Mountain that night. You'll be on Eastern Time and it's a day trip for La locals so doing it in the morning is absolutely reasonable. Just give yourself longer than the GPS says because the 405, the 5 and Sepulveda Pass will make you seriously question if you want to live anymore. Just to be safe, double whatever it says but again you'll be on Eastern Time so tha'll be easy.

Over time manufacturers have found ways to decrease the need for supports which likely reduces the overall cost of their products and the construction time. This is true of most coasters... look at how many supports an Arrow has compared to a B&M. Even old Arrow corkscrews and loops vs. more recent Arrow corkscrews and loops. Then look at Sheikra vs Valravn, I305 vs Millennium Force, Nitro vs Fury. As manufacturers build more and more coasters they find ways to make the support structures more and more efficient and it's fun to watch.

Don't worry, that'll be fine. There's no such thing as "enough time at Knoebels". It'll always leave you wanting more because it's a great park but you'll be able to experience everything (in many cases multiple times) in 2 days. -
Wait, so if I'm reading this correctly you're going to spend a fast paced day at Magic Mountain running around in the desert (not that it's insanely hot that time of year but still) with a Fastlane to get credits, then leave at 11PM eastern and drive 5 hours? Everyone has different endurance but think about jet lag. You'll still be on Eastern Time. If I were you I'd leave Magic Mountain, drive an hour or so... get a hotel when you feel tired and finish up in the morning assuming you'll still be on Eastern Time and won't mind getting up early anyway. You'll make it to the boardwalk easily. If you do that and cut out Belmont Park on day one you've just turned an insane death march into a manageable and enjoyable weekend at the expense of 1 credit that you know isn't going anywhere anyway so it's almost a guarantee that you'll come back one day and get it. You can easily do Knott's, Adventure City and Pacific Park in a day stress free.

Scream Machine was rough and subpar but it had personality and history, it always looked really intimidating and I usually rode it once a visit. I was mediocre but it could still be fun. Green Lantern is trash, it's ugly, it's rough and it has no redeeming qualities. Luckily it's really the only bad coaster in the park so even though it's unbelievably horrible I can't complain with a lineup like that.

Yeah I've never seen assigned seating on Maverick though I also have absolutely no preference on that coaster anyway (which is really rare but it's equally great everywhere). This sounds stupid but the only ride where you sometimes get stuck in a seat you don't want is (I can't believe I'm admitting this) Pipe Scream. I like the outsides because you spin more, and don't judge me... It's fun. Lol -

Sorry I thought I was in the Six Flags New England thread for a minute. I think you have choice of seat on every coaster at Cedar Point. Lol
