  1. Every major pizza chain sucks. The one exception might be Uno but I don't really think of that as pizza. I know I'm a N.Y. guy but I don't mean that as an insult. Deep dish is delicious but comparing that to N.Y. style pizza is like comparing apples to oranges. They're very different things (but they're both awesome). Since we're in the N.Y area we can call up basically any place around that's not a chain and get great pizza (something we're really spoiled by), but I won't bore anyone with hole-in-the-wall pizza places nobody has ever heard of. I'm a pizza snob and rarely bother with pizza outside of the N.Y area because living in North Carolina for a few months taught me better. Despite that though there are always some exceptions and 2 of my top 3 fall into that category. So not that anyone cares but my top 3 would be: 3) Cesari's Pizza: Knoebels Unless you're in a major city, trying to get a good slice of pizza in Pennsylvania is damn near impossible. That being said Knoebels defies logic and this stuff is wonderful. And nothing washes down a delicious slice of Cesari's better than a tall glass of Knoebels Kool Aid which I routinely sip every single day. 2) Lombari's Pizza: NYC If someone were to ask me what the best slice of pizza was, I'd tell them it was Lombardi's. #1 is kind of a nostalgia thing for me but Lombardi's is world class. Everyone needs to check this place out. It's a staple of Scott's Pizza Tour and it should be. 1) I'm sorry guys but... Grotto Pizza: Delaware Let me start this off by saying that there are Grotto Pizza locations in Pennsylvania. They all suck, but the ones in Delaware are incredible. I grew up eating this stuff on family vacations and I absolutely adore it. Nothing annoys me more then Pizza places trying to copy N.Y. pizza because they usually fail (cough... Nicola). Grotto doesn't try to copy anything, they did something completely different and it's great. Your mileage may vary though, it's definitely a little different. lol and I just realized how arrogant that sounded. Sorry, living here just spoils you in the Pizza department. The weather sucks, the taxes suck but we have some damn good pizza and we're proud of that lol.
  2. Flashback is much better than Goliath unless you're in the front row. It usually has a decent line when we go. I'm actually starting to enjoy it.
  3. I never had much interest in the event but if there was only a 3 train wait for row 1 of Kingda Ka I really wish I would have gone. I probably would have just be power riding that all night in the front just because you never have that opportunity any other time.
  4. Of course it looks like that, it's under construction. Not sure what you expect it to look like...
  5. If you get there at opening you should actually hit Goliath first as it's likely to break down at any time and if you're the first one there you can ride in Row 1 and avoid a massive skull bashing.
  6. I'm disappointed the email didn't begin with "Dear Mr. Breakdown".
  7. Yeah it's a safe bet that anyone that knew the specifics of the deal wouldn't be saying anything. The people that are talking are likely just talking out of their a**es.
  8. I don't know where this dumb idea came from that parks always add major coasters during anniversary years but it seems to be widely accepted as fact by way too many enthusiasts despite the fact that it's totally ridiculous. Enthusiasts are the only people that care about park anniversaries, all an anniversary means is an opportunity for them to sell you a $25 100th anniversary T shirt. It doesn't mean they're getting a major ride.
  9. Anyone who can't see the benefit in expanding Soak City has never looked at what they charge for a night at Breakers, and the incredible value in giving someone a reason to stay an extra night. Plus it's a separate gate and another day of in-park spending revenue.
  10. Well it doesn't fit the theme of the area at all but if that ends up being it's final destination I'm very happy to see a new flat.
  11. This might be my favorite word filter ever.
  12. True, but putting it at ground level does make it look a lot better. I love what Dorney did with theirs. Still no complaints from me though.
  13. I'm not seeing anyone talk about this. Cedar Point seems to be following in the footsteps of BGW's Griffon backstage tour by offering their own, and that's a VERY cool thing, considering you'll get to climb to the top of Valravn's lift hill! That opens up a whole new opportunity for amazing views and photos! This might be one of the most exciting announcements for this season! I've heard rumors that the tour will actually be very interactive. After guests watch them transfer trains on not only will everyone get to climb the lift, but one lucky guest will be able to carry the "Closed Due to High Winds" sign to the front of the queue and deliver the bad news to everyone queued up waiting for the ride to open.
  14. For whatever reason I don't see this on their website, does anyone know the hours for Season Pass preview day? We had planned to go to Dollywood but since a delayed opening for Lightning Rod is seeming more and more likely by the day we're considering going to Williamsburg as they're the only other park in the region open that weekend (and we still need to check out Tempesto). Also, are pass processing lines generally manageable that day? Thanks in advance!
  15. Really people? lol Well played Cedar Point.
  16. No, they just tore down the final lift and drop because they like to practice demolishing and rebuilding things in the winter since the park's closed and they're bored.
  17. Seems likely except for Sky Screamer and anything else over the tracks. I still think American Thunder could go either way.
  18. I've got to be honest, everything I see points to Ripcord going where Shoot the Rapids is. They're basically removing Challenge Park as Skyscraper is gone too. There are trees marked for Removal near shoot the rapids right where the ride would need to swing. If they're removing trees now this seems like something they're doing sooner rather than later so a Ripcord relocation seems likely. I'm sure they know that Soak City is terrible, and removing Challenge Park frees up tons of room for them to do a Carowinds style expansion to bring it up to the 21st century. They have a serious incentive to get people to stay an extra day, not just for more expensive pass sales (for passes that include Soak City) and money from in park spending and ticket sales but because they could get people to stay an extra night in their newly renovated, expensive hotel. A Soak City renovation is long overdue. That seems to be exactly what they're doing and they're saving money in the process by removing a maintenance headache and making money by putting Ripcord in an area where it'll get way more foot traffic and most likely riders.
  19. The ride ran pain free in the mid 2000's. It just seems like it requires a good deal of maintenance and re-tracking. At it's best and with the trims off it can be the best ride in the park. It actually has the potential to deliver some incredible airtime moments in the front of the train.
  20. Only if the boat was named titanic. ... Or shoot the Rapids
  21. Bye Felicia! From Coaster Chit Chat
  22. Gotta be honest. Nitro's paint doesn't bother me. If I were going to paint something I think the 2 things that need it the most are Superman and the Skyway cabins. Superman (unlike Nitro) is really prominent right near the park entrance.
  23. Pointbuzz is live blogging from the event today.
