  1. Hey don't lump Fury in with Leviathan, lol. Leviathan is a fun but forceless standard modern B&M. Fury is complete greatness in every possible way.
  2. I think this sentence is trying to eat itself. I literally have no idea what you just tried to say.
  3. #Troll? If not then: Just because you personally do not like a coaster does not mean it is a waste of steel, nor does it make it pointless. When there are millions of other people out there who love the coasters. If you don't enjoy the coasters, then just skip them when you are at the park. But to say it is a waste of steel, or pointless is a bit harsh. Even if you think those coasters are weak compared to other coasters in their category (agree with both actually) I can't imagine anyone riding them and not having fun on them. If you can't enjoy your rides on Intimidator and Leviathan I actually feel a little bad for you. They're both still very good rides, and Leviathan is probably my favorite coaster in that park.
  4. 30% of people are awesome. Everybody else sucks.
  5. Having potholes the size of the Grand Canyon in the parking lot puts visitors at risk of injury and tires in danger of being damaged.
  6. It'll be downright amazing if this ride opens on Opening Day but I have to admit it looks like it's actually a possibility.
  7. Personally we just like to mix it up a little. Sometimes at Cedar Point it's nice to take a break from long lines and ride a major ride without dedicating to much time to it. Even with Fastlane Plus Maverick can pull a 45 minute line. We like to mix in some rides like Skyhawk, Power Tower, Gemeni and Mean Streak sometimes since they're solid rides with short waits and just take a quick break from lines. We used to do that with Corkscrew too but lately I just find that thing unbearable.
  8. Just riding in the front isn't good enough. You have to learn forward (easy since there's a grab bar) and not let your back touch the seat back. It's a really, really stupid way to ride a coaster and if someone says that they shouldn't have to do something that stupid to enjoy a coaster I can't disagree at all, that's a very fair point. I'm just saying that if you do it it works like a dream and I don't really mind that much. Also, if you do that, it's a smoother ride than Blue Streak, though Blue Streak still isn't rough by any means and it's a much better ride than Mean Streak since it's a better layout with nice pops of air.
  9. Try that trick, I promise I works. The ride itself still meanders around and doesn't do much... if they RMC it I won't miss it but in the meantime I'll enjoy it for what it is... a cool ride through an amazing structure in a great setting. It's not that bad, and if it weren't at Cedar Point sitting on prime real estate for expansion it would never generate the level of hatred that it does.
  10. Nitro had a 15 minute wait on it's opening day as it's been one of the most popular coasters in the entire chain ever since. This conversation is ridiculous.
  11. I feel like one time I should ride Mean Streak in a different row just to see this roughness everyone talks about. We've always heard it was rough so we always ride it defensively and because of that we've always known it to be one of the smoothest coasters in the park. It's really an amazing trick, we did the same thing with Wild Beast at Canda's Wonderland which apparently has a reputation for being a back breaker and had a perfectly smooth ride experience. Same for both Hurler's and the KD Grizzly.
  12. I'm not saying it is a bad ride, it is actually one of my favorites as well. I've also never waited over 5 minutes for it even on summer weekends. The idea of it being removed isn't as far fetched as it seems. Some ride ops over at BGWfans say the ride has some of the lowest ridership along with a high operating cost and being a maintence nightmare. The ride location itself makes the perfect area to put a new rollercoaster. Less tree removal would be needed (we know how they love their trees) and it could use the ravine near by for some great terrain elements. Think of this as well, if it is a wooden rollercoaster (whether it be RMC or something else) it makes sense to put it towards the front of the park away from KingsMill. San Marco is one of the only area's in the park without a coaster besides Ireland and England, so I wouldn't rule this out. My speculation is based off of facts I've heard. At the end of the day it is just speculation, but it seems to be a growing idea that Pompii could be removed. Just my .2 cents. That's a real shame to hear, I hope they keep it forever. I'd have to see them remove one of the best rides in the park ... again
  13. I still say Mean Streak is a good coaster. If you ride in the front and lean forward it's much smoother than Blue Streak could ever be and even though the ride does a whole bunch of nothing I love taking a ride through that amazing structure. Hearing all the enthusiasts bitch and moan behind us just makes the ride 10 times better. And yeah I know I shouldn't have to know a certain way for ride a coaster but whatever, that's what we do and we have tons of fun riding Mean Streak.
  14. I'm interested to see how fast it takes that turn. I'm glad it's so abrupt and not facing the bay for a prolonged period of time and I think it's going to take it at a decent clip. The reason I bring that up is the fact that 9 times out of 10 the wind comes from the bay, causing Gatekeeper's first half to all be against a strong headwind, Raptor's slowest point into the mid course to be against a strong headwind and Dragster to be trying to crest the hill against a strong headwind. The more a coaster faces the bay at low speeds, the more of an issue the wind is so if it takes that turn with any speed at all I'm optimistic that this ride can run when many other coasters (mainly the 3 I just mentioned) can't.
  15. If Saturday was your only full day there I'd say you should get Fastlane as it'll be busy if the weather is nice but since you're going for 2 days it's up to you.
  16. So it'll be busy on Sarurday and not on Friday. And you're welcome jonskinny12!
  17. Pompeii is one of the best rides in the park, we ride it every time we go regardless of temperature.
  18. Carowinds is rarely busy (with the exception of the water park) unless it's a Saturday. You'll be fine, the only large lines in the dry park will probably be for Nighthawk and Ricochet.
  19. Allow me to answer that question in the way I'm sure many people will end up answering it and save them the trouble... Because it's been XXX years since we got a coaster and in that time just about every other park in the chain got at least one new coaster and we "deserve" a new coaster because our XXX anniversary is coming up and you know the park has something big planned for our XXX anniversary since we've been so "neglected by the chain" because complain complain complain insert nonsense about how we think the industry works. In conclusion we need a Hypercoaster or an RMC and not a B&M or a forceless wing rider. ... How did I do?
  20. We all know what you meant and it's a good point, but his post was still funny. Lol
  21. If anyone besides Ryan said it I would be mocking them but consider the source. It's very credible.
